According to local residents, Vanya and all the youth of Kasley liked to walk there. However, neither people nor dogs found anything. We checked the private sector, too, no clues. On the first day, there were many "witnesses": some claimed that Vanya had been kidnapped by unknown people in a black car. The boy's uncle is a deputy, so suspicions fell on his ill-wishers, but the version with the abduction was not confirmed. There was also a rumor that Vanya had been hit by a car.
A few days later, psychics decided to help. They said that the child was alive, they needed to look for him in the direction of Kyshtym, but none of the search group could find Vanya's traces at a distance of almost 30 kilometers - that's how much Vanya had to overcome on a bicycle to get to the neighboring city. Other esotericists assured that the child was in the Kasli region, near a small waterfall or at the natural monument Sacrificial place Big Allaki. However, the volunteers urged not to believe in psychics, because not one of the “specialists” who came to the headquarters and called people behind him could find Vanya.
The first clue was footage from a security camera. There is a boy in an orange T-shirt riding a bicycle towards the school. A similar child was seen on the highway leading to Kyshtym. It makes no sense for volunteers to run anymore, they have done a lot, I am amazed that they plowed in such numbers, with such forces. By the beginning of the second week of the search, things began to look like this: on June 13, the Kotov family was fishing on Lake Svetloye. Parents with children returned home. There was a major quarrel, in which both Vanya and his older brother became participants. The next day, the child took a backpack, got on a bicycle - and did not return home. The mobile phone was turned off. The last call was fixed on June 13th. In social networks, however, Vanya appeared. At the same time, from different places and from different devices, which seemed suspicious to the search group. An own source told the First Regional website that the Kotov family had been polygraphed several times. The parents were allegedly hiding something, but no one could understand what exactly: they told a completely coherent and true story.
On the seventh day of the search, the volunteers began to lose hope. The most stubborn ones drove up to the headquarters. Of the 800 participants in the search, no more than fifty remained. In addition, the volunteers began active cooperation with the investigation: each volunteer was given a specific task from the security forces. Investigators, police, rescuers worked with them. Due to the sharp reduction in information on social networks, rumors began to appear. Vanya was found 10 times a day, alive and tragically dead. Once a schoolboy was confused with a bag of cow giblets. But the clues that have been found are minimal. There is no backpack or Vanya's bike, no cameras were filmed, he left no traces, all the similar boys that they saw are not Vanya.

2. Did the boy “change clothes” on the way?
The search for security forces and volunteers is complicated by the constantly changing circumstances of the disappearance. At first, they could not establish for several days whether Vanya came to the library or not. Then for a long time there was a version that not a single resident of Kasli had seen the boy. But recently, the volunteers let it slip: Vanya was seen on June 14 in Kasli, moreover, 10 hours after the alleged disappearance.

Thanks to the stories of local residents, we finally managed to make an orientation. It is fundamentally different from the original, which was dictated by the parents. This raised a lot of questions: why couldn't mom and dad name the color of the child's things and the brand of the bike? Because of this error, operational work in the early days was useless. While everyone was looking for a boy in an orange T-shirt, they found similar teenagers on the video, Vanya “walked” in blue clothes and, by the way, “changed clothes” four times in 9 days, got a sweatshirt, moved from the KAMA bike to Stealth.
Not immediately, the parents reported the distinctive features of the child. It was not said about the mole above the upper lip, small stature and disproportion of the body. And if Vanya could choose clothes on the day of the disappearance, which confused his parents, then he would hardly have been able to change outwardly during the search. This valuable information, which would immediately distinguish the child from other schoolchildren similar to him, was received only on the sixth day. Residents of the Southern Urals were at a loss. They wanted to get answers from Vanya's mother. As a result, the woman turned off her phone and stopped visiting pages on social networks. Communication with her was interrupted for everyone, except for the volunteers and security forces who were on site.

Vanya's parents, informing the investigators, named another feature of their son: he is afraid of water. Allegedly, he would never have put himself on the shore of a reservoir, and therefore it is pointless to search in the lakes. Divers, doing their job, explored the bottom, but without results. Meanwhile, a week later, one of Vanya's friends, also a schoolboy, said: a few days before that, Vanya had been to the local pond, swimming with the boys, and then got on a bicycle and left. How did a child who is afraid of water decide to swim in it, and even without adult control? There is no answer to this question either.
As a result, the volunteers said that they no longer focus on the boy's clothes and bicycle, but work only with the same signs.
3. “Vanya, come back home! Why did the parents stop looking for their son?
Initially, the parents tried to find Vanya along with everyone else. The headquarters was located in their house, many people from all over the region gathered there, volunteers from Yekaterinburg also joined. Everyone tried to understand where Vanya could go, and without the stories of his parents about his son, this would be difficult to do. The headquarters was in the parental home for several days. The child's parents studied all the abandoned houses, went to the forest. Participation in the search was also allowed for Vanya's underage brother, who had just completed the ninth grade this year. At the same time, Vanya's mom and dad wrote down an appeal to their son, asking him to return.
Many were surprised by the calmness of the parents, even though the mother cried at the end of the video. Rumors spread around Kasli that the family was hiding something. Versions began to be voiced among the volunteers. This dealt a serious blow to the emotional state of my mother. The headquarters in the Kotovs' house had to be curtailed. Volunteers and security forces went to school No. 25, where Vanya is studying. There, everyone was placed in the gym, provided with mats and mattresses, desks were set up, organizing a semblance of a dining room. Vanya's brother also came to the headquarters, but on the day of silence they did not let him in, like all the volunteers. The boy tried to get an answer why this was happening, saying that he really wanted to participate in the search, because his brother was gone. But active indignation was only on the Internet, after that the boy also disappeared from social networks and did not appear at the headquarters.
The more the parents moved away from the search for the child, the more inaccuracies and inconsistencies surfaced, the main of which was the orientation. The Kotovs did not explain the reason to the media, the members of the search group also do not disclose this information.
4. Why are the investigators silent?
The active work of the security forces began 2 days after the information about the disappearance of Vanya Kotov. Then the investigators opened a criminal case under the article "Murder of a minor". Denis Chernyatiev, head of the Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Chelyabinsk region, took control of his investigation. The initiation of the case expanded the powers of the security forces, but they did not achieve any result. The unsuccessful search operation outraged the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin.
The investigation of the criminal case was taken under control by the central office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. To date, the search area has exceeded 200 square kilometers. The search area was divided into 4 sections. The first was the city of Kasli. There, rescuers inspect abandoned buildings, explore the canal that leads from the locks to Lake Irtyash. The police began a door-to-door detour and another survey of residents of the city of Kasli. In addition, cemeteries near the suburban settlement have recently been explored.
The second section was the road from the Ufaley exit to the railway. Volunteers work there. They inspect the forest, manholes, abandoned houses, swamps - everything where a boy can be.
The third section turned out to be the road from Kasley to Ufaley, as well as a forest area to Lake Svetloe. Divers are also working on the lake itself - this is the fourth area of work. Locals claim that the lake has two bottoms. A drowned person may not be on the surface of the reservoir, as he will go very deep under the water. Some scientists suggest that such lakes do not have a bottom at all and it is useless to look for anyone there. By the way, the water in the reservoirs is not very clean and makes it difficult to see.
Quadcopters fly over the city and its environs: what if the boy can be seen from the air? But now everything is unsuccessful. There is no information about the alleged whereabouts of Vanya Kotov.
On June 23, Andrey Sergeev, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chelyabinsk region, went to Kasli. There is reason to believe that Shamygin himself used illegal substances. In photos posted on social networks, he is also captured with alcoholic beverages and a hookah.
On June 14, Shamygin lured Vanya Kotov to his home ... and the boy disappeared. For almost a month, law enforcement officers and volunteers were looking for him, combing the entire district. Even Vanya's parents fell under suspicion: some of the volunteers thought that the boy's father could be the killer and beat him. Windows were broken in the Kotovs' house.
The boy was searched for 200 square kilometers. Parents recorded a video message to Vanya, hoping that he had left home. But everyone knew Vanya as a family child. They responded positively to him. The boy was engaged in the sports section, and on the day that became fatal for him, he rode a bicycle to the school library.
How the monster lured the child into his lair remains to be seen, although Shamygin has already confessed. We managed to get on the trail of the killer thanks to a polygraph survey of all local prisoners.
Feeling that the ring is shrinking, the killer tried to hide. They searched for him for two days. Once in the hands of the investigation and having passed the interrogation with the use of a lie detector, the bastard "split".

The search engines checked the whole district, all the abandoned buildings where teenagers usually like to walk. All - to no avail.
"There is a possibility that the child drowned. At the moment, this information is not confirmed. That is, we are not aware of it. The specialists continue to work. The specialists of our service, the specialists of the main department of the EMERCOM of Russia," said the deputy head of the search and rescue service of the Chelyabinsk region Denis Garifullin.
The rescuers themselves do not believe that the child could drown. If there was an accident on the water, then at least some things would remain on the shore. However, neither the backpack nor the child's bicycle have been found so far. Since Monday, the volunteers have stopped their work. But the search for the boy does not stop.
"Currently, search activities are ongoing, in which more than 100 police officers are involved.
