Twelve most beautiful girls of Buryatia. “The most beautiful Buryat woman” Maria Shantanova: I am a modern nomad and warrior Beautiful Buryat girls

If the election of beauties among girls usually does not cause any obscene associations, then men's competitions cause controversy. For example, recently on the Web a lot of criticism and ridicule was voiced against the contest "Mr. Buryatia". As it turned out, in the perception of many Internet users, the type of a slender, pale young man with sensual lips is at odds with the concept of a handsome Buryat, who, according to the majority, should be archetypically brutal, stern in face, stocky and swarthy.

However, thanks to the media, this image is no longer the standard of male beauty. For example, the tastes of young people under 25 years of age are clearly influenced by Korea and Japan. In various groups of the VKontakte social network, many pages appear on the request “beautiful Buryats” where images of a modern young Buryat man of the “Japanese-Korean type” appear, very far from the image of a steppe knight, a male bator.

On this occasion, discussions are ongoing on the forums, where the defenders of traditionalism defend the undoubted visual merits of the Buryat-Mongolian man, which distinguish him from other representatives of Asia.

Steven Seagal is a typical Buryat

“Of all the Asians I know, the tallest and healthiest are the Buryats. And I am very proud of this,” notes a visitor to the Site of the Buryat people. There are even excursions into history on the forum that explain this fact.

“... I already wrote once that the Russian population of Barguzin and its environs considers the previous population, the Barguts, to be very tall people. This common motif of the legendary image of the indigenous inhabitants of Barguzin is usually associated with the finds of the remains, supposedly the bones of the legs struck the Russian peasants with their length. Until recently, in the local Russian dialect, the word "Bargut" also meant "tall" or "mature" (hefty) person. There were Russians with the nickname Bargut, who received her for her high growth. I asked archaeologists I knew about the Barguts, they told me that all those legendary finds of long bones (if they took place in reality) were made back in the 17-19 centuries. And specialists, in general, have not been studied ... ”, - writes one of the old-timers of the Site of the Buryat people.

In the mid-2000s, Ilya Stogov, a well-known St. Petersburg prose writer and journalist, traveling around Baikal, in his sensational book “MASIAfucker” did not fail to note: “Asians walked around. These were not rickety Vietnamese. They were huge, taller than Russians, broad-shouldered, koumiss-fed peasants with strong and crooked legs. Guttural and hook-nosed nomads…” The writer captured this scene in the village of Ust-Ordynsky, seeing the local Buryat minibuses.

Once, in the days of video salons, the Buryats watched a film with Steven Seagal, and chuckled among themselves: “To put him in a sheepskin coat, a mink hat and high fur boots - in Bokhan he would have passed for his own calmly.” Moreover, then no one knew about the Mongolian roots of the Hollywood actor.

In principle, according to anthropometric indicators, the Mongols, Buryats and Kalmyks are much higher than other inhabitants of Asia. Tuvinians, Altaians, Yakuts and residents of the Far North are on average smaller in stature, which is due either to the mountainous terrain or the harsh climate. On average, the height of a Mongolian-speaking man is about 170 cm.

A man of long will and big belly

In the old days, weight was also considered one of the signs of prosperity for a Buryat man. There are legends about the great bathers, who were distinguished not only by their physical strength, but also by their huge belly. Like, they ate a ram in one sitting, drank a bucket of tarasun, trying to sit on a horse, breaking his back.

So, the ancestor of the sumo wrestler Anatoly Mikhakhanov - Zagash-bukhe, according to legend, weighed almost half a ton and rode a cart drawn by six horses. Mikhakhanov himself now weighs 273 kilograms.

Fatness in the old days showed the social status of a man, as well as the shiny sleeves of the degel. Men deliberately wiped their lips on them after a meal, thereby showing that they eat meat every day. However, obesity had to be compensated, say, by victories in wrestling matches. Otherwise, the wits could well call a weak and fat person a “pregnant cow” and compose jokes about him.

However, no matter how outwardly Buryat men change, the virtues of their mentality are permanent. This is, above all, Eastern restraint. Which does not mean at all that the person is not temperamental. “It’s like a flame that gradually breaks out,” writes one of the RLS respondents.

No less attractive is the intellectual power of young people. It is not for nothing that various kinds of brain games are now so popular in Ulan-Ude, where young Buryats demonstrate the full power of their intellect in order to impress the opposite sex.

According to Inna Ivakhinova, a chess player and a beauty, a Buryat man should be charismatic, purposeful, strong-willed, smart and kind: “I think that the song of Sayan and Erzhena Zhambalov “Star of a Nomad” shows what a real man should be like.”

Sergey Banaev, a teacher and defender of his native language, associates the ideal image of a Buryat man in this way: “Mountain, rock. The concept is immutable. Support. Hope for loved ones. Especially for the woman you love. With his wisdom, courage, courage, the decoration of the beautiful half! Erhim erdemtey, shadaltay, munhe azhabaydaltay”.

According to director Solbon Lygdenov, “for men, especially Buryat men, and indeed any men, beauty is primarily in his actions, in his responsibility and fortitude. Do not cry, do not be afraid, do not depend on small circumstances. In a word, the one who has a long will is beautiful ... "

The Minister of Culture of the Republic Timur Tsybikov is sure that a handsome man, regardless of nationality, is made by the mind, the intellectual power of the brain.

Synthetic "anime" Asians ...

As for the beauty of Buryat women, there is no unequivocal opinion here. Once the ethnographer Vasily Starodumov determined that “Buryats are mysterious girls with eyes of the color of the night. They look mysterious, modestly smiling at the corners of their lips. Most of them are girls from small to medium height, with dark skin and jet black hair. They have a narrow section of the eyes and the bridge of the nose is implicitly expressed, the nose itself is not very large, neat. Lips are not plump, thin. Of the character traits, I would note the shyness, but if the Buryat girl doesn’t like something, then it’s better not to mess with her, oh, and she will set the heat!

You can take this visual image as a basis, but again, the influence of the media, pro-Westernness and achievements in cosmetology have completely changed the image of the Buryat beauty.

For example, on the RLS they came to the conclusion that “modern Buryats are more standardly beautiful, more “anime”, more and more some kind of synthetic Asian beauty is now peeping out, which is still more inherent in Korean and Japanese women and some Chinese women.”

“For a period of time, more beautiful girls will flash in Ulaanbaatar than in other cities where I have been. In the 2000s, tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Mongols left Mongolia, mainly from Ulaanbaatar, and these were mostly young people, among whom there are quite a few well-groomed urban beauties. Now for the same period of time in Ulaanbaatar, perhaps, there will be fewer beauties, but this city still remains a place where you can meet ladies in any store or cafe, as they say, “as if they had stepped off the covers of fashion magazines.” Now it’s funny to remember, but I used to think that Koreans and Japanese women, almost without exception, should be at least pretty. Seoul has somewhat cooled down in this regard, but I never got to Japan, although I often encounter Japanese women in different parts of the world. However, the fact is that the media in Japan and Korea are full of women of simply unearthly beauty. In large cities of Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, you can now meet Chinese women working as flight attendants, saleswomen, waitresses. It's amazing how many beauties there are. There are also tall, long-legged, model-type girls. At the sight of them for some reason, there is always a suspicion that they are Buryats. Such people are not uncommon in Ulan-Ude now.”

…or moon-faced beauties?

In the film "Mongol" by Sergei Bodrov Sr., Temujin's father, Yesugei, teaches his son: "A woman should have a flat face, narrow eyes, strong and wide hips."

The width of the pelvis, of course, was dictated by practical considerations - a woman had to give birth to as many bators as possible. But the moon-face and the shape of the eyes were purely aesthetic ideas of the steppes about beauty.

Among the Mongols and Buryats, the Moon (“Һara”, “Sar”) is a symbol of the feminine. In this they differ from the countries of the West, where Venus plays such a role. By the way, in the Steppe this planet was a sign of the morning messenger, and was called the male name "Solbon".

So the round face of a woman corresponded to the concept of beauty among the steppe peoples. The narrow eyes resembled the silhouette of a bow, the main weapon of a man.

Also a feature of anthropometry in women - descendants of the proud steppes, are a long back and flat hips. The fair sex in the old days rode a horse like a man, therefore, supposedly, they developed the corresponding signs. Modern Buryat women are trying to fight these atavisms, in particular, surgery to increase the soft part of the body is popular.

Another well-known surgical intervention is the removal of the epicanthus. Making "dabharyashki", that is, European eyelids, has become a fix idea for many Asian women.

However, unlike Chinese, Korean and Japanese women, Buryats sunbathe and go to solariums with pleasure. In Asian countries, a tanned woman is considered poor, which means that she has to do manual labor, say, sow and harvest rice. And pale skin is a sign of idleness and prosperity.

It is curious that the nomads did not pay much attention to the size of the chest. This part of the woman's body was not a sign of sexuality at all, and became such only with the advent of European culture.

Of course, North Asians are also different in height from South Asians. However, the average height in women of 160 cm is considered the norm. We have already written more than once about how, at one of the Altargan holidays, they wanted to introduce a restriction for contenders for the title of Miss Festival - not lower than 165 cm, to which one of the representatives of the Aginsk delegation exclaimed - "Buryat beauty is not measured by centimeters!".

Keepers of genetic baggage

Again, in different opinions on the Web, one thing follows, no matter how the appearance changes, the essence, the component of beauty comes from the inner content.

Here, for example, is what a certain Buryat woman writes in her “Blog of a Beginning Shaman Woman”: “... There is a muzhik, so to speak, biological and at the same time social meaning of existence on Earth. But what about a woman? And our woman, therefore, retains all the genetic "baggage" that was sown into her by a male running past. (Well, or kidnapped her from a foreign tribe - for a while - to fulfill the honest work of the sower). And this is how her genetic mechanism works. Everything that has ever entered the body remains recorded in DNA files. And it is transmitted, respectively, further by inheritance. Enriching the nation's gene pool.

In my humble opinion, we Buryats are, in the above sense, a remarkable phenomenon. With a detailed examination of the nature and features of appearance, you will see all the genetic wealth, all the intricacies of the ways in which our nation was formed. In facial features, in the curves of the body, our difficult history is clearly reflected. And only we Buryats can save it. For future, if you like, generations….».

There is only one conclusion from this reflection. The beauty of a Buryat woman is a loose concept and lies not in superficial "animeness", but in mentality and strength of character, the ability to preserve one's genetic baggage.

In terms of language and culture, the peoples include Mongols and Kalmyks.

In one of the Russian-speaking groups he writes:

If your girl is Buryat

Your girl is Buryat, she has black hair and slanting eyes, she is insanely beautiful. She is childishly simple, sincere, has a charming smile. At the same time, she is very strong and with a strong character.

She sees the beauty of nature, rejoices in every flower and ray of the sun, she, like a child, will stroke and play with a kitten, but at the same time she can do any male work.

She always tells the truth, but at the same time she is very cunning, she will remain silent when necessary, she will find an approach to a person, she knows a way out of almost any situation, she can persuade anyone if she needs it.

From an early age, she dreams of a family, a child, love. But at the same time she is very modest, does not tolerate vulgarity.

She loves to take care, takes care of her soul mate. She loves to be taken care of, loves to give advice, but really doesn't like being advised.

She has the patience and courage to forgive, she will forgive you many times, but one day her patience will burst and she will say "bayartai" (goodbye) forever and nothing can bring her back.

She does not like being spoken to in abstruse phrases, but she does not tolerate banal jerks who cannot communicate on a smart topic.

She rarely says the words "I love you", but she loves when these words are said to her. It is they who say, looking into the eyes - and do not write in contact or other social networks. She does not tolerate lies, she always intuitively feels him, she just does not always show the view.

She loves attention, no matter what you give her - just a chocolate bar or an expensive car - she, most importantly, is the fact of your attention, that you think about her, that you do not forget. She believes in love, but few people believe in people.

It is very hard to earn her love, but if she loves, she loves sincerely. However, her love can quickly pass if she is not supported. Then she will simply silently leave, and abruptly, because all Buryats are well adapted to life.

If your girlfriend is a Buryat, then you are very lucky, but do not forget that it is very easy to lose her.

A little naive, isn't it? However, such “creativity” is typical for a young age... And yet, we admit, a lot of things were noticed correctly in this text. What do you think?

Recently, truthful and even fantastic versions often appear on the Web about how. ARD is already in its publications. More often, of course, the theme of them is exaggerated. Even on non-Buryat national resources:

However, studies of the “national character” of girls, especially well-argued ones, are still very rare... Perhaps the readers of the ARD will share their opinion, do the Buryats have “their own character”?

YouTube, for example, also has its own subjective “author's” opinion about the beauty of the Buryats:

Model Maria Shantanova I started as a business woman and achieved good results in this direction. But fate decreed that it was not her own business that created the name of this girl, but a beautiful appearance and a combination of circumstances. Now in the girl's personal file there is collaboration with Nestle, Dolce & Gabbana, as well as directors Ben Logan and Steven Seagal. At the same time, the girl does not forget about her native Buryatia. How all this fits into a fragile beauty, how she relates to fame and what the “most beautiful Buryat woman” regrets, read in an interview for UlanMedia news agency.

- Tell us how your modeling career began. How did you become the face of the Nescafe brand?

It happened by chance, as a student I was noticed by an agent of a modeling agency and invited to a casting, I decided to try, although I had zero experience. Everything went well and after several castings they still approved me.

- Why did you decide to become a cover girl from a business woman? How did your family and friends react to this?

Yes, from childhood I saw myself only as a business woman, but since fate itself sent me to the art direction every time, I began to understand that this was not just luck and a coincidence, I was really appreciated by professionals, and you can do it for real. Those close to me support me in everything, this is very important. Without my family, I would not have achieved all this.

- Do you consider yourself famous? Why?

Honestly, I don’t even know how to answer this question, because everything happened naturally, I never tried to be famous. I love the filming process itself, and people evaluate the result, because it's nice when you try and you are appreciated. It's like cooking dinner for your beloved family, and everyone will like it, I love to give. The expression "I give thanks" is very close.

- What was the key to your success?

Probably self-confidence, which my mother raised in me. External data help only at the beginning, as they say, "meet by clothes", but then your success depends on what kind of person you are. Positive attitude, kindness, but also the ability to fight back if something does not suit you. And to do good, without necessarily expecting something in return, just to give good and help as much as possible. Always be yourself, follow your principles and beliefs.

- You have been repeatedly called the most beautiful girl in Buryatia or from Buryatia. What do you think about it?

Of course, I was very pleased to hear about it, especially since it was originally a journal dealing with human anthropology. But in general, I believe that every woman is beautiful in her own way, inner beauty shines brighter, and this, of course, cannot be conveyed through a photo or film.

- What is the true secret of beauty (yours, beauty in principle)?

They must be good genes.

- How did you change East to West? Why did they make such a decision?

I can call myself a modern nomad and warrior. I have traveled almost all of Asia, I love it very much and sincerely miss it. Living now in the USA, I expand the boundaries of my consciousness, I can do what I love.

I love to travel and try myself in different places, from scratch. So it was in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and now in the States. This is a kind of test of their strength.

Maybe because I had a boyish character since childhood, I am not afraid of difficulties, I always want to develop and do something myself.

- In previous interviews, you talked about your creative plans for November. Did they come true?

Some of them have already come true. I became a member of the jury at the World Asian Film Festival, worked with the heavyweights of the film industry, great and just very good people.

It was an incredible experience that certainly brought a lot of knowledge and emotions. In addition, the projects that I am supposed to be involved in as an actress have not yet received a start date for filming.

- Do you often visit Buryatia? When are you planning your next trip?

At the moment I came to Buryatia for the holidays.

- How do they treat the Buryats abroad? Are you more comfortable in America or in China?

Of course, not everyone understands the representative of what nationality I am, but I am trying hard to convey to the world who we are and where we come from. With the help of me, a considerable number of Hollywood celebrities already know about us and Baikal. Like my friends in China, many have already visited my parents' Four Seasons guest house in Enkhaluk specifically to see what Baikal is all about.

- What place does Buryatia occupy in your life? Russia?

Buryatia is my homeland, my "toonto nyutag" is here, I am inseparably connected with it, having lived abroad for almost 15 years, I come to my homeland every year, as now, although the flight from the USA is not as easy as from China.

I definitely need to come home once a year, see my relatives and recharge with the energy of Lake Baikal.

I have not traveled in Russia yet, I have only been in St. Petersburg and Moscow. St. Petersburg is not a “foreign” city for me either, my mother spent all her childhood here, I know a lot about this city, even places that were connected with the history of my family. And in general, St. Petersburg is a beautiful historical city with incredible architecture. In Moscow, I always transit for a few days, I have a lot of friends living there, both from Buryatia and from student years from China. I really want to go on a trip to Kamchatka, to Vladivostok and to my homeland in the Irkutsk region - Olkhon Island.

Tell us about your collaboration with Steven Seagal. What is remarkable for you about Segal as a person, a project partner?

I was introduced to Steven Seagal by my good friend English director Bey Logan, as he is a professional in martial arts productions in Asian cinema, Seagal's project is also planned to be filmed in Asia, but so far it is still in progress. He is a very nice person, like his family. I met his wife and son, we are Buryat-Mongols, so I think this made our meeting even warmer.

Stephen spoke very well with his son in Mongolian phrases, which impressed me even more. He is a very humble yet kind person. In general, I noticed that most successful people in Hollywood are very simple and kind, and most importantly, almost everyone has a good sense of humor.

Do you communicate with fellow countrymen abroad? (In China, America). With famous people from Buryatia, other models,

To be honest, in China there was less communication with people from Buryatia, because it was the very beginning of my journey, I developed my language skills, I had more communication with people from various countries: China, Korea, Japan, USA, Europe, but still sometimes we met with fellow countrymen at buuza-party or sagaalgan. In the USA, I began to communicate more often with guys from Russia - Buryatia, Moscow, Tuva, Kalmykia. I can confidently say that I have found real friends among my countrymen, I am very lucky to meet such people.

- What souvenirs do you bring to your loved ones from abroad? And what, on the contrary, are you bringing from Buryatia?

In fact, I am very practical, that is, before flying home, I ask my family what they need. I don't like to bring unnecessary things. Of course, we bring tasty things from home: sulfur, nuts, sweets, omul and stew, the last time I lived in China.

What and who do you miss the most?

For my family, for friends, although most of my friends also live in different parts of the world, but with the advent of technology, everything has become much easier, every day I communicate with the house via FaceTime.

- Do you have a role model? Who is it?

The role model is my mother and grandmother. Grandmother Demidova Taisiya Afrikanovna, having graduated from the Moscow Institute of Trade, subsequently moving to Ulan-Ude, worked as a warehouse manager for finished products at the Amta confectionery factory. She was my example - very strong, smart, but at the same time kind and fair. She could find a common language with everyone, I remember that she was loved and respected by everyone from the director to the loader, then I decided that I also wanted to be an independent business woman and at the same time a loving mother. My mother is the most optimistic person, she is strong, wise, but at the same time very gentle and kind.

I believe that a woman should combine these qualities in herself, then you can move mountains.

Do you regret anything? If you had the opportunity to change something in your life, what would you do differently?

I don’t regret anything in my life, every event played its role: something made me happy and set me up for the best, something played a good lesson, I believe that everything we get is a consequence of our own actions. The only thing is that I would like to return to my childhood and spend as much time as possible with my grandparents, they were incredible people. Therefore, appreciate your loved ones! This is the most valuable thing you have!
