Recipe for “Nests with fish or chicken”:

The first thing you need to do is put the potatoes to boil (pre-peel them and add salt to the water). You need to cook until half-cooked (when, when you “test” the potatoes with a knife, you feel that the potatoes are no longer raw, that is, hard and “crispy”, but not quite soft, as for mashed potatoes, for example).

The second step is preparing the fish. By preparation I mean baking the fish, again until half-cooked, so that it no longer looks raw, and it can be easily separated from the skin and small bones removed. Any red fish and even pink salmon are very suitable (it is a little dry in itself, but it can be used very well in this recipe).

I baked it for about 7 minutes at 180*C (salted and peppered the fish and sprinkled it with lemon juice).
As I already wrote, fish can be replaced with chicken (boiled).

Now a master class (loudly said, of course) on making nests :) That’s just what a person can’t figure out when he doesn’t have the necessary utensils :) I really don’t have it, because the apartment is rented, and I have to buy a bunch of all sorts I really don’t want the very necessary molds, because then all this happiness has to be transported.

I got distracted... I need to take some suitable container. I had a plastic bowl like this (the spoon next to it was designed so that you could roughly estimate the size). In general, before this I used a liter jar for this purpose.

Fold the foil in half. The folded width should have an allowance, slightly larger than the diameter of the mold. When cut, you will get a rectangle; it needs to be cut into 2 approximately equal parts. We ended up with 2 parts at once, which will serve as the basis for 2 nests :)

We take one of them and press it tightly to the dish/jar. You need to press down directly with your palms so that the foil sits tightly.

Now cut 2 strips of foil approximately equal in width (no need to fold in half). The width is equal to the desired height of the future sides + approximately 1.5 cm allowance.

Now we make the sides. We take one strip and wrap it around the dish, again pressing tightly.
As you can see in the photo, I was a little short. This is exactly what the second stripe is for :)

We do the same with the second strip (accordingly, we eliminate the resulting “bald spot”), press it tightly. Now you can remove the workpiece from the dishes, it turns out to be such garbage, in the literal sense of the word. You can see that the sides are coming off. But for this purpose, we made the sides 1.5 cm wider: now we bend the edges so that the foil does not dangle on the side and does not move away.

In the end it turns out like this. I’ll say right away that everything holds up fine, nothing falls off and nothing falls out during the cooking process.

In fact, it's all a matter of 5 minutes, honestly (sleight of hand and no deceit)!

Well, now let's continue cooking. The potatoes are probably already cooked, drain the water and leave them to cool.
Remove the fish from the oven.

We clean the carrots and onions, grate the carrots on a coarse grater, chop the onion finely and fry the whole thing in butter for about 5 minutes.

The fish must be disassembled into small pieces. By the way, I have it already more than half-finished... Well, so what, while I was running around with the camera, it had already managed to finish well (fortunately, this is not important in this recipe) :)

Making an appetizer original and at the same time simple is a completely doable task; we boldly undertake to prove this using the example of fish baskets. They are prepared quickly and do not require any special expenses or culinary talent.

Recipe for fish nests on a loaf

Perhaps the simplest and most accessible recipe for fish baskets is a recipe using a loaf as a base.

Ingredients:

  • fish fillet (pike perch, pollock, pink salmon) – 600 g;
  • loaf (round) – 1 pc.;
  • onions – 2 pcs.;
  • hard cheese – 150 g;
  • salt, pepper - to taste;
  • milk – 400 ml;
  • mayonnaise;
  • greens - for decoration.

Preparation

We clean the fish fillet from bones, if any, and skin. Cut into small cubes. Chop the onion. Finely chop the greens and grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Mix pieces of fish with herbs, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with a little lemon juice.

Cut the loaf into pieces about 2-2.5 cm. Soak each piece in milk and squeeze a little. Place the loaf pieces on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. We crush each piece of loaf in the center so that we get some semblance of a basket into which we will put our fish filling. Grease the filled baskets with mayonnaise and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake the snack in the oven for 7-10 minutes at 180 degrees.

Oriental style fish ceviche baskets

Unusual baskets of oriental style ceviche will surprise guests who have a truly developed culinary taste and will show the owner himself as a gastronomy connoisseur and gourmet.

Ingredients:

  • any white fish – 200 g;
  • salmon – 200 g;
  • chopped red onion – 1 tsp. spoon;
  • mango – 1/4 cup;
  • cucumber – 1/4 cup;
  • small chili pepper;
  • green onions;
  • chopped parsley - 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • flying fish caviar – 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • oyster sauce – 2 teaspoons;
  • fish sauce – 1/2 teaspoon;
  • sesame oil – 1/2 teaspoon;
  • pita.

Preparation

Chop the fish using a knife and mix with chopped herbs, onion, mango, cucumber and chili pepper. In a separate bowl, combine fish sauce, sesame oil and oyster sauce, season the fish with the resulting mixture. Leave the fish with fruits, herbs and vegetables in the refrigerator until completely cooled.

Cut the pita bread into squares and lightly spray with water from a spray bottle. We arrange the pieces of pita bread into muffin tins to form baskets, then bake the pita bread at 180 degrees until browned.

Before serving, take the fish out of the refrigerator and place it in lavash cups. We decorate the dish with caviar and enjoy the exquisite taste with a glass of champagne.

Crispy bread baskets with fish

Bread baskets may not be the most festive dish, but this does not in any way affect its taste. Tender fish fillet in cream, how could such a combination be a loser?

Ingredients:

  • sandwich bread - 8 slices;
  • olive oil;
  • red onion – 1/2 pcs.;
  • fish fillet – 500 g;
  • lemon – 1/2 pcs.;
  • cream – 1/3 cup;
  • chopped green onions - 2 tbsp. spoons.

Preparation

Cut off the crusts from the bread and roll out each slice using a rolling pin. Grease muffin tins and place in them bread flatbreads. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until edges are browned.

While the bread baskets are baking, fry the chopped onions in a frying pan until soft, add the fish fillet to it and fry for 2 minutes. After the time has passed, pour cream, lemon juice into the pan, add salt and pepper. Place the mixture in bread baskets, sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs, and serve the appetizer hot.

They will also help diversify your holiday table - it will turn out original and tasty.
