Casablanca marrakesh train. Alone in Morocco: travel itinerary. Where can I buy a ticket

I went to Marrakech for a few days. It is a big city with many interesting places. I really enjoy traveling around Morocco, it's a beautiful country and the locals are very friendly. I'll tell you about how I went from Marrakech to Casablanca.

How to get to Casablanca by train

I like to travel around Morocco by train. This type of transport is very comfortable, and most of the carriages are new and equipped with air conditioning.

The rail links between the cities are very well established. You can leave with one of 9 daily flights. Departure of the first at 04:55 and the last at 20:30. The interval between trains is 1-2 hours. You will have to spend 2 hours and 38 minutes on the road.

You need to take the train at the Marrakech station.

You need to get off at the Casa-Voyageurs station.

Where can I buy a ticket

Many passengers buy a ticket at the station at the box office. There are often queues, so I recommend purchasing a ticket on the website of the Morocco railway operator.

How much to pay

A ticket will cost somewhere between 90-150 dirhams (9-16 dollars, 608-1015 rubles).

How to get there by bus

One of the main advantages of traveling by bus is the large number of daily connections to Casablanca. There are about two dozen of them. Buses are also equipped with air conditioning, the comfort of buses depends on their class.

Buses depart from the central bus station in Marrakesh.

The first bus leaves at 02:00 and the last one at 20:45. You can leave every 30-60 minutes. The road from Marrakesh to Casablanca takes 3 to 4 hours.

All buses arrive at the central bus station in Casablanca. Transportation is carried out by CTM.

How much to pay

For a bus ticket, you will have to pay 90-130 dirhams (9-14 dollars, 608-880 rubles).

To Casablanca by car

Traveling by car is a good option to get to Casablanca from Marrakesh. Morocco is very easy to travel by car. There are many salons in the country that offer to rent a car, and you can do this online on special car rentals.

The distance between the cities is approximately 240 kilometers, so the journey will take about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The entire trip takes place on the A7 toll motorway. Here is a brief description of it:

  • high-quality road surface without damage;
  • clear markup, many useful pointers;
  • two wide separate lanes;
  • low traffic and no traffic jams.

All roads in Morocco are of very good quality, on toll highways you can accelerate to 120 km/h.

How much will the trip cost

The toll road will cost approximately 100 dirhams ($10, 676 rubles). On this route, you need to spend somewhere around 22 liters of fuel, which will cost 220 dirhams (23 dollars, 1,500 rubles).

Flight by plane

Air travel is the fastest way to get to Casablanca.

Between the cities of Marrakech and Casablanca, there are about 5 direct flights. Please note that the first flight at 05:30 is not available every day.

All planes depart from Marrakech-Menara Airport and land at Mohammed V Airport.

Direct flights are operated by Royal Air Maroc.

You can get from the airport to the city by bus, the journey takes about 1 hour. They run throughout the day, the interval of movement is 1 hour. The public transport stop is located at the exit from the airport.

There is a railway station next to terminal 1. By train, you can get to the Casa-Voyageurs station. Trains run every half hour.

Where and how to pay the fare

I recommend looking for plane tickets on the Internet. There are many services thanks to which you can save a little by purchasing a ticket. You can look in search engines or. Also, the Royal Air Maroc website is perfect for buying a ticket.

The bus ride is paid for when boarding it, and a train ticket can be bought at the railway station.

The cost of travel

For the flight you will have to pay about 900 dirhams (93 dollars, 6100 rubles).

For a bus ticket - 20 dirhams (2 dollars, 135 rubles). If you decide to travel by train, the ticket will cost 42 dirhams (4 dollars, 280 rubles).

Outcome

I recommend taking the train. There are many flights, and the level of comfort is high. The advantage of traveling by bus is that there are even more flights during the day, and you can leave at night. There is no global difference between traveling by train and by bus, but by train you will get to Casablanca a little faster. If we talk about air travel, then I would not recommend it, the ticket price is high, and the time savings are minimal (taking into account all factors, it will not be faster than by train).

Morocco is a country of extraordinary interest to tourists who want to know how to get from Casablanca to Marrakesh long before their arrival. There are several ways to quickly overcome the distance separating major tourist centers. Among the options offered are air travel, taxi, bus, train or self-drive.

Staying in Casablanca - where to stay and what to see?

As soon as you find yourself in Kas (reduction of Moroccans), it is worth finding a hotel to stop by. It offers visitors cheap accommodation in rooms without a shower and toilet, more expensive accommodation in the central part of the city with complete comfort. You can choose a hotel to your taste using the site.

The resort is the second largest city on the African continent, so it is worth taking 2-3 days to get acquainted with the most significant places, even if you are in a hurry to get to Marrakech from Casablanca.

Train

An inexpensive transfer from Casablanca to Marrakech will be by train. The ONCF railways laid a rather dense grid on the map of Morocco, connecting all major cities with each other. In Kas, 5 railway stations were built, from which passengers go to any part of the African state. In the adjacent territories there are kiosks, left-luggage offices, cash desks, cafes, and waiting areas. It is better to buy tickets at the box office in order not to pay extra 15% commission in the car.

A fast train was launched from the Casa-Voyageurs central station to Marrakesh, which reaches the final station in 3 hours and 20 minutes at a speed of up to 160 km / h in some sections. An ordinary train, which leaves the station every 4 hours, will have to spend only 15-20 minutes more.

The price of a ticket to Marrakech is 9-17 euros, depending on the class of the carriage.

If you go by taxi, which can be ordered on the website, then in about 2 hours and 15 minutes the passenger will reach Marrakech. The cost of the trip varies widely and depends on the class of the chosen car. It is considered optimal to order a taxi of the Minibus type, designed for 7-16 people. Applications are submitted in groups or seated along the way. In case of prior request, the driver will drop by the hotel or meet you at the station with a sign.
