Megatron - transformers - official Russian portal. Quotes Biography in feature films

Now that the verdict has been announced, it's time to delve into the world of transformers and find out how to survive on Cybertron. This planet has never been famous for its good climate, and with the outbreak of the civil war, they completely forgot that hospitality is sacred, and the guest is inviolable. Transformers: Battle for Cybertron is one of the most difficult games of recent times, unless you're a fan of the easy difficulty level.

Briefly about the main

First of all, a few tips that will help in harsh situations.

Don't stay long in one place. Bulky robots are surprisingly fast and agile. In addition, the enemy takes in quantity, and at least a dozen bullets, energy clots, grenades, mines and rockets fly into your ward. If you don't dodge in time, the battle will end before it even starts.

Ignore the non-stop scorching enemies, and even more so do not try to imitate them, the ammo runs out quickly. The stock, of course, can be replenished by breaking the box with the mark of the shells, but you still need to find it.

Often next to such containers are weapons storages - oblong and wide metal boxes. Here you can change, say, a thermonuclear gun to a neutron machine gun. Do not disdain and sniper weapons; despite the small ammunition and low rate of fire, it solves problems much faster than its automatic brothers.

Many players needlessly forget about turrets. Do you think they can only be used in normal mode? No, these formidable cannons and machine guns are easily removed and carried away with them. Movement speed is reduced, and jump distance is reduced, yes, but you have a formidable argument in battle. True, there is one “but”: a simple gun remains with the hero even after the transformation, but there is no turret. Do not rush to throw it, it is better to use all the cartridges to good use.

Of course, not only you, but also your enemies have such a bulky and dangerous weapon. There are two proven ways to protect yourself. The first borders on cowardice: transform into a car or a fighter jet and get out of there. Put yourself in order, go to the rear and beat to the bitter end.

Method two - do not follow the beaten path; when the path leads to the left, run to the right, even knowing that there is a dead end. Perhaps you will be met by a wall, but most likely - stocks of ammo, grenades and an energy shield that actually doubles life expectancy. With him, you can safely go to the frontal.

Don't underestimate melee. Where you spend half a clip, one or two hits with an ax or mace will suffice. It also saves a lot of ammo. What, however, can not be said about the vitality - the hero has time to shoot well, or at least give a kick.

Feel free to hide. "Transformers" are conducive to dynamics and continuous shooting, but sometimes so many thick-skinned opponents are rushing at you that one wrong move - and hello, checkpoint. The game of hide and seek makes things easier. A prime example of good cover is a meteorite wreck near the Decepticon spaceship in the penultimate chapter. When you fly up to him and kill the guards, a huge guard will appear, firing homing missiles and energon blasts and regularly calling for reinforcements. A durable stone will save you from shelling, and all that remains is to fire accurately.

However, this is one of the few missions in which most of the time passes in the guise of a vehicle. The rest of the time, refrain from long stays in the form of cars, trucks, armored personnel carriers and fighter jets. Their weapons will not cope with the foot soldiers.

Don't forget about the abilities of transformers. Invisibility is a ticket to a quick victory. The tactic is simple: turn invisible, sneak up on the enemy and hit him with a hammer on the head with all his might. The effect is simply amazing.

All talents require a recharge, but some require energon, which drops from the bodies of defeated enemies, canisters, and transformer emblems. The latter are located in hard-to-reach places and explode from one shot. If you are an Autobot, look for the Decepticon logo, if you are a Decepticon, look for the Autobot markings.

The only way to defeat a brute, a giant with an energy shield, is to blow his backpack to shreds. This can be done only by entering from the rear, which is difficult due to the crazed aggressiveness of the enemy. Throw an EMP grenade at his feet, it will knock out the strong man for a while and throw him into the air, and you will have the opportunity to get even.

Weapon

The choice of weapons is an important moment in the life of every transformer. You can only carry two cannons and three more grenades or mines (and even one in multiplayer mode). What to choose? Now let's think of something.

ion blaster

The fastest-firing weapon of all, the ion blaster is rarely handed out immediately. It is great for fighting light infantry, spiders and other weak transformers, especially if they are at arm's length from you. The fact is that the rate of fire is one of the two advantages of this miracle. The second is the size of the clip. All other indicators - damage, distance and accuracy - are negligible. Do not even try to attack thick-skinned opponents with it.

Nevertheless, the ion blaster, with its speed, has proven itself well in online battles.

fan blaster

Semi-automatic shotgun, shoots, the stump is clear, shot. Except not quite normal. Weak rate of fire and problems with accuracy are trifles, what is much more serious is that the blaster is suitable only for close combat. But if you creep up and start shooting, you can be sure that victory is yours. The damage is great even by shotgun standards.

EMP gun

Another semi-automatic shotgun that only shoots electromagnetic pulses, sending the enemy into a state of deep meditation for a long time. The damage is more than solid. One or two shots are enough to smash almost anyone to spare parts, and a couple of volleys into a thug's shoulder bag will instantly leave some memories of that thug.

Like the fan blaster, the EMP gun is not very popular in online battles. If you jump well and know how to hit headshots, no problem. Otherwise, take something faster.

Neutron automaton

Second place for speed of fire. The neutron machine is hidden literally in every second chest with weapons and is given to many from the very beginning of the mission. More than two hundred rounds are placed in the clip, but they are consumed extremely quickly - to get rid of an enemy transformer, it will take at least ten to twenty shots. Don’t even think about going with him against the bosses, and the thugs and comrades are too tough for the neutron machine. But against ordinary robots it will do - although the range of this toy is not the best.

X12 "Perforator"

The best that is from the rapid-fire and lethal weapons. X12 "Puncher" resembles a Gatling gun, only it is loaded with small energy blobs. Ideal for a fight even with heavily armored enemies, and huge bosses will not resist the onslaught.

But there are two "buts". The first is that before starting to shoot, the Perforator must spin up, and this is the time. In multiplayer mode, this is the same problem. The second minus is a huge spread of cartridges.

Energy Pistol

The weakest sniper weapon, which, however, attracts with all other characteristics. The stock of cartridges is more than modest, but two or three shots are enough to bring down an ordinary robot, of which there are the most in the game. Fatty transformers will take four or five charges, but don’t touch the huge ones with this handsome man.

A huge advantage of the energy pistol over other sniper weapons is its relatively high rate of fire, which is very helpful in online battles.

Photon Rifle

An average rifle in all respects. The optics are simple, and shooting at distant targets can be a problem. The high rate of fire and rather high damage make the Photon Rifle one of the best choices in solo and multiplayer modes. Given the small size of maps for online battles and shooting bursts of three rounds, you have every chance to become an excellent sniper.

Null blaster

The most powerful weapon in the game. Perfect in everything except low rate of fire. But the lethality is such that it allows you to blow up a heavy infantryman in thick armor and with a turret in his hands from four to five shots. There is nothing to say about ordinary robots: pull the trigger once and forget. A tenfold approximation allows you to shoot in the heel of someone who hides poorly. And even the bosses give up under the onslaught of this formidable invention.

For those who are accustomed to hiding in Modern Warfare, Battlefield, Counter-Strike and Quake 3 and shooting opponents with well-aimed shots, the null blaster is perfect. Just take an advantageous position and bring the team victory.

thermonuclear gun

Despite the name, thermonuclear in this gun is only the size and rate of fire. And the last one is in quotation marks, it takes a lot of time to recharge. Megatron's favorite weapon is rarely used in the network field, and in single player mode it does not linger for a long time.

And yet. Firstly, this unit has a good lethality, and secondly, the firing distance. The most important thing is the impressive radius of destruction. If a bunch of opponents are drawn nearby, shoot in the center, and they will be smeared on the walls. But do not try to shoot from afar, until the charge reaches the targets, the targets will have time to scatter.

Plasma thrower

A victim of rapid fire, the Plasma Launcher is a great find for dispersing crowds and fighting bosses. Like the X12 Perforator, it needs time to warm up and spin up, but as soon as everything gets better, hide everyone!

This thing releases, of course, plasma clots, and the longer you hold the “shoot” button pressed, the larger and more powerful they will be. The small ones will break through the armor of ordinary robots, the huge ones will shorten the lifeline of the giant creatures of Cybertron by half.

Energy is usually enough for five to ten shots.

Mortar "Volcano"

Everything is good here - and the radius of destruction, and the force of the explosion, and the rate of fire. Everything but range. To hit the address, you need to aim high above the target, and there are no guarantees. How to be? Use this argument either in close combat or to protect strategically important objects (mines can be placed first and then activated).

Thermal rockets

A hand-held rocket launcher is second in power only to a null blaster. There are again problems with the rate of fire, but a well-aimed shot is able to smash half a level. In addition, the rocket launcher has one useful property - homing to vehicles. Any. Whether it's a fighter jet in front of you or an armored personnel carrier, no matter how hard you try, you won't miss. Therefore, the gun is indispensable in a network battle, where people love to fly and ride.

energy beam

Beam weapon that restores the strength of teammates and destroys enemies. Unfortunately, neither fish nor meat: there are no benefits, except for licking wounds, in sight. The affected area is nothing small, lethality is even less. But there are no problems with accuracy, but this is little consolation.

Bosses

Means of mass destruction inspire pride in Cybertron. Now that we've covered them all, it's time to learn how and against whom to use them. And if disassembly with ordinary opponents does not take much time, then the fight against bosses is a long and responsible business.

The local bestiary is reminiscent of monsters from Devil May Cry 4 in size, and some will give those creatures a head start. And not only in size, but also in ferocity.

Decepticons

Zeta Prime

The leader of the Autobots is a powerful ancient transformer, the keeper of the mysterious Omega Key. To get to the core of Cybertron and infect it with dark energon, Megatron will first have to get rid of the interference in the person of Zeta Prime.

Zeta Prime prepares to strike again.

A trifle ahead - the Decepticons fleeing in fear.

The fight takes place in his abode - a cross between a temple and an arena. The owner has wrapped himself in an energy cocoon in the middle of the level and controls the battle from there. With the help of unknown technology, he created his huge hologram, which lowers parts of the ceiling with a wave of his hand. In order not to get hit and turn into a cake during the first attack, just approach Prime and wait out the storm.

Then this tactic will no longer work, so look carefully at the floor - where the red emblem lit up, the column will soon collapse. Do not panic when you realize that everything is in red lights ahead - there will definitely be a calm place. If not, just do not linger in one place, run.

Zeta is also an expert in sculpting his own clones and throwing them into battle in huge numbers. All of them are armed with spears, so don't meddle in close combat, it's better to transform, wrap circles around them and shoot at once, and not one at a time.

Once you're ready to fight Prime, you'll learn that you can defeat him only by destroying the protective barrier, and with it the hologram. It is necessary to blow up the energy core that opens after a series of attacks. The “shell” is spinning around him all the time, so conduct aimed fire. Best of all from a null blaster, otherwise - from the X12 Perforator or rocket launcher. The rest is powerless.

Omega Supreme

The fight with this giant consists of three stages.

The first takes place on a huge terrace lined with turrets. In the form of a spaceship, Omega blasts the Decepticons with powerful laser fire and homing missiles. To protect yourself from both troubles, hide behind a wall or in any secluded place, of which there are enough here.

You can defeat the Autobot only by firing at him from the turrets. It is dangerous to sit behind them - you risk falling under the distribution. Better take one off, hide around the corner and open fire. If you got a machine gun "apparatus", do not feel sorry for the cartridges and do not aim too much, the Omega is maneuverable, but very large, go and miss. If you have an enlarged version of the thermonuclear gun in your hands, fire only when the Supreme is hovering in the air. You can also shoot a little further than the place where he is during his movement - you are guaranteed to hit.

After some time, Omega will start calling for help, and fighters will fly in. You need to remove them quickly, ideally - hiding behind a wall or around a corner. Crates of ammo, energy shields, and energon are scattered throughout the arena, so this nightmare will end fairly quickly and painlessly.

The battle continues in the pit, where the padded Supreme collapsed. Now he is in his normal form and will not transform. But he does not stint on firing from half a dozen of his guns. You can't break through his armor, focus on the cannons - as soon as you blow up three of them, the Autobot will need to replenish his strength. He can do this only with the help of an Energon capsule that appears in one of two places in the arena (you will quickly remember them). Infect a canister with dark energon and thereby make the enemy vulnerable to damage. Four or five of these "tricks", and Omega will fall off his feet.

True, there is a catch. First, the capsules are sent to the robot almost immediately after the appearance. Secondly, at this moment, fighters take off, which surround the Decepticons. The tactic is as follows: instantly transform, rush to the vessel, infect it, and only then fight off the Autobots. There are enough first-aid kits at the training ground, and the choice of weapons is solid, you can handle it.

When Supreme falls and the Decepticons begin to praise Megatron, the third round will begin. Omega has become angrier and fires from a huge plasma gun. Here, hide less behind the walls - the robot will easily smash them, and you will be left without shelter.

The only way to defeat him is to shoot him in the chest. And although turrets will rise from the ground, it is better to use a null blaster or Megatron's thermonuclear cannon - faster and more reliable.

Autobots

Starscream

Starscream does not spare even his flying counterparts.

Not even a thick hide can save this Decepticon from vengeance.

The first serious opponent that Optimus Prime will face is Starscream, who never stops talking for a minute. Dealing with him is not easy, but there is one trick: if you hide behind a column in time, of which there are plenty on the level, he will forget about you and will only attack his teammates. All right, clip his wings.

After a while, Starscream will fly into a rage and triple his efforts. But a faithful column will help out. When he descends to the ground, forget about caution and go hand-to-hand. The plasma gun is a more powerful argument, but not the fact that you will find it. Yes, and getting into the "ground" Decepticon is problematic - he runs and jumps all the time. And a few blows with an ax on a cast-iron head will sharply bring him to his senses.

soundwave

“And now a bird will fly out ...” - “Run, it is already flying!”

Death will come to him very unexpectedly.

Guardian of Zeta Prime's dungeon and loyal comrade of Megatron, Soundwave will actively resist the release of the prisoner. He himself will hide under an impenetrable energy dome, while the turrets on the sides will do the dirty work for him. Blow both up and the Decepticon will send his little henchman into battle. Due to its height and jumping ability, it is difficult to hit it from a gun, but it is quite possible to hit it with something heavy a couple of times.

As soon as the robot falls, the “caring daddy” will immediately forget about self-defense and leave his shelter to raise the baby to his feet. This is a great opportunity to knock him on the head, or better, shoot him with a plasma gun.

Then Soundwave will return to its place, the turrets will come to life, and everything will start over. But the new dwarf will be stronger than its predecessor, and something that looks like a pterodactyl attacks from above. Jump as much as possible and wield not only machine guns and a plasma gun, but also an ax, a sledgehammer and a sword. If everything is done correctly, the fight will not take more than five minutes.

Threat to the core

The threat to Cybertron's core is nothing but a huge spider.

There are more problems with these spiders than it seems at first glance.

This very "threat" is nothing more than a huge arachnid creature, fueled straight from the core of Cybertron. The first meeting with her will take place when you were a caterpillar rider, and then shoot from the turret at everything that moves and looks suspicious. The second collision will be the last, and you will have to sweat so that it does not become such for you.

The spider has three main attacks. The first is claw strikes that simultaneously summon spikes of dark energon from the ground. Stepping on them, of course, is undesirable; cut your way to open space and stay away from giant paws.

After that, you are often fired at from a laser. It will not work to hide, it is several times larger than the average transformer. The only way to escape is to jump and duck. And do not be too smart with the length and height of the jump, otherwise you will no longer be able to get into the rhythm and lose.

Finally, the crown of everything is the attack of small spiders crawling out of the ground. There are two options: either jump up and shoot them in flight, or smash them with an ax. The latter is more effective, but you yourself are exposed to a blow. At the end, a first aid kit will fly out of the insects; don't forget to pick up.

Well, you can defeat the "threat" only by releasing several hundred charges into its mouth, in the place where the laser attack matures. Spare no ammo, if necessary - transform, but this is the only way.

Trypticon

The worst thing that could happen to the Autobots was an encounter with this giant, ruthless lizard. Be prepared for a fight that can drag on for several hours.

The first stage is short - all you have to do is reload Trypticon's shoulder guns. They already overheat rather well, but we can only help. This can be done by knocking down the capsules near the Decepticon's position - they drive up to him along the conveyor under the ceiling.

But first you have to survive the deadly attacks of the monster. There are two ways. The first is to transform and wind circles around the level at high speed until the shelling from homing missiles and plasma clots ends. The second is to hide behind the wall right next to the Trypticon. From the same position it is convenient to blow up cooling capsules.

Overheated, the big man will go berserk and gain considerable agility. Attacks will become more frequent, they will be supplemented by blows with a giant tail, from which it is impossible to hide. But even here there is a little trick: when the lizard is about to strike, jump as high as possible and stay in the air as long as possible.

Even before Optimus, Bumblebee and Ironhide come to the conclusion that the piece of iron is still not friendly with the air conditioner, you will notice a red rectangle above Trypticon's head. Do not hesitate to open fire - this is only the first of three reactors on his body that must be destroyed.

After the explosion of this, two more will open, on the sides. destroy one nearly to the end, then do the same with the second. Almost to the end - in order to protect himself from the wrath of Trypticon: the breakdown of at least one of these mechanisms would anger him to madness.

It's best to use a Null Blaster or an Energy Pistol. In extreme cases - from X12 "Perforator". The rest will not save. And don't forget to pick up the Energon supplies in the middle of the upper platform. By the way, as soon as you find yourself there, be prepared for the appearance of spiders.

Having done everything right, you will defeat the beast in ten to fifteen minutes and see the final video. Do not rush to turn off the credits - you will hear a song from childhood and see familiar characters in their usual form.

Multiplayer mode

Once you're done with single player campaigns, it's time to take to the online battlefields. Before creating a character, decide what kind of showdown you want to participate in.

Team fight. A classic bout between two teams, adjusted for abilities and talents. Given the possibility of transformation, the carnage becomes especially cruel. It is useless to keep everyone together - there is a weapon here that is effective against the crowd; it is better to run in squads of two or three people and catch rivals.

Every man for himself. Another classic, which, however, is not popular. Usually there are three or four players in this mode, so do not count on dynamic battles and serious competition.

Conquest. There are three energy nodes on the map that you need to capture and hold for as long as possible. For the assignment of a strategic object and control over it, points are awarded every second. The first team to accumulate four hundred points wins. The recipe is this: first, with the whole team, attack two points, and then split up - let the main backbone guard one of the nodes (preferably between the other two), while the rest are fighting for a vacant place. This will provide a good defense and a quick victory.

Power code. Another version of the capture of the flag, only one-sided: first, one team seeks to steal the power code and drag it to the base, and the other protects it, then they change.

The Code of Power is not only a valuable "flag", but also a powerful melee weapon. The player carrying it can hit them so that all opponents, no matter how many there are, are swept away by an explosion. The only true strategy for kidnapping is to rush into hell with all the kagal. For protection, it would be nice to place two snipers at a distance, and well-arm the rest and leave them next to the desired object. Installing guards that detect stealth and fire missiles is also a good idea.

Countdown. The goal of the teams is to capture the bomb in the center of the map and use it to blow up the enemy base. One point is awarded for each explosion, those who score more points in the allotted time win. Or those who stole the explosive toy more times.

Character classes

There are four character classes in Transformers: Battle for Cybertron - Scout, Scientist, Commander, and Soldier. Everyone has different skills and talents, has access to certain weapons and gains new opportunities with career growth.

Scout

The smallest of the transformers, the scout can nevertheless defeat even the largest of his brothers. And its main trump card is compactness. Being small, agile and mobile, he can rush back and forth, brandishing melee weapons and knocking down everyone he meets. Moreover, a jumping baby is a very difficult target. And this is one of the arguments in his favor.

The second is the ability to become invisible. In a single player campaign, this is not so important, but in network mode, more than. Agree, it is very convenient to get into the enemy base in the midst of a battle and knock out a few people without being noticed.

We have four types of weapons to choose from (but you can only take two): plasma gun, null blaster, energy gun, fan blaster. The null blaster (a great sniper rifle) and the fan blaster (a good option for close combat) are best.

There are four abilities (you can also leave two):

Invisibility. There is nothing to think about here, an obligatory component of a gentleman's set.

Throw.“Accelerating in any direction” sounds good, but it’s actually just a couple of meters of acceleration, which is of little use.

Trap. The Scout creates a trap by disguising it as a useful item such as ammo or armor. Upon contact, the trap stuns the enemy. But at that moment you can be on the other side of the map... The verdict is that it doesn't make much sense.

Label. The enemy receives electromagnetic damage, weakening his armor and giving away his location. Useful to the extreme, so quickly earn the fifth level and take it into service.

In addition, there are three cells, in each of which you need to insert one talent (or improvement, as they are called here). The list is quite large, so we'll just list the most useful ones.

Weapon upgrades. Well proven Backstab, Surprise attack And Vendetta.

Security enhancements. We liked Ghost, Skorokhod And Spatial jump.

Basic improvements. Only a couple of things are useful here − Shot booster And Fast reload.

Scientist

This class has two advantages. First, the transformation into a fighter jet flying over the level at high speed. Secondly, the ability to install a guard who pours fire on enemies from a rocket launcher. In all other respects, the character is completely mediocre.

The scientist has the following weapons in stock: a neutron gun, a photon rifle, an energy beam and an EMP gun. If you still decide on a career as a pilot, take the neutron machine as a rapid-fire melee weapon and a photon rifle for some kind of sniper activity.

Four abilities.

shock wave. You can knock back the enemies surrounding you, and even damage them, the energy blast is a powerful thing. At first, this should definitely be included in your deck.

Guard installation. Close it, let's get it! Straightaway. The Guardian detects stealth, fires rockets and heals wounds. It is most effective during the capture of the flag or the defense of a strategically important object. In addition, this mechanism distracts attention and disperses the ranks of the enemy.

Deprivation of strength. Draining vitality from opponents. The effect is meager. Forget it.

Disguise. At level 5, replace Shockwave with the ability to pretend to be part of the enemy team. In the manner of a spy from Team Fortress 2, the scientist merges with the corral of opponents and acts on the sly.

As for talents, there is also something to be glad about.

Weapon upgrades. We liked energy storm, Rocket Guardian And Repair Guard.

Security enhancements. Well proven Guardian Armor, Master disguise And Guardian Power Plant.

Basic improvements. And again Shot booster And Fast reload.

Commander

Perhaps the best class in the game, which, however, is not easy to get used to. Commanders are called upon to monitor the battlefield and help their comrades-in-arms with their abilities. Solid dimensions, high driving speed, acceleration and a good choice of weapons make the commander indispensable in a hot fight.

Of the weapons, he has an ion blaster, an energy pistol, a thermonuclear cannon and a Volcano mortar. Everything is very powerful, but the rate of fire is three legs lame - everything except the ion blaster. Here we take it. The second number will go to the energon pistol or thermonuclear gun. In the first case, there will be a chance to work as a sniper, in the second - to scatter opponents with one salvo.

All abilities are good, so we don’t even undertake to advise - decide what is closer to you.

Battle cry. Increases damage in melee and ranged combat, strengthens the armor of the hero and all comrades who are within the radius of the "spell". Very often, in a battle against an enemy outnumbered, the "War Cry" helps to snatch victory with its teeth.

Barrier. The protective barrier will help more than once when capturing energy nodes and when planting a bomb. But remember that it works both ways; be careful not to shoot him yourself.

molecular bomb. A wave of energy radiates from the commander, slowing and weakening all enemies in the area of effect. Well, after an exact hit, you can do whatever you want with them.

Destruction. The target is forced to transform for a while. While the enemy is trying to understand what it was - a weapon in the teeth, and finish with him. The effect of surprise works with a bang.

Talents didn't disappoint either.

Weapon upgrades. Choose whatever you like - everything works! But we advise you to opt for the Battle Cry upgrades.

Security enhancements. Well proven Impact armor, Martyrdom, ion accelerator And Standby power units.

Basic improvements. still Shot booster And Fast reload. Also very good Hunter.

Soldier

The universal class is an average fighter, always pushing ahead and rarely turning on the brains. The owner of the heaviest weapon, the best of which is the X12 "Perforator" and a rocket launcher.

With abilities, the soldier is a bit tight, but something will do.

Flight. It is useless both in the single player campaign and in online battles. Yes, when hovering in the air, the damage increases, but the character also becomes an easy target.

Vortex. Powerful melee attack. Nobody will survive. Give one cell to her, leave the second under ...

Weapon beacon. This "pillar" replenishes the team's ammunition and increases weapon power.

Energy chains. For some time, opponents who fall into the affected area lose their abilities. This gift is especially good against enemy scouts and commanders.

With talents, everything is easier - there are a couple of useful ones.

Weapon upgrades. We liked BOOM. Alpha, Accurate shooter, Heavy artillery And road puncher.

Security enhancements. Showed themselves well Whirlwind of blows, Impact armor And Energon Absorber.

Basic improvements.Shot booster And Fast reload. Surprised?

A robot equipped with thermonuclear weapons, the ability to increase in size (with a growth of 10 meters) and high intellectual abilities is an extremely dangerous enemy. It's no surprise that Transformers-Defenders are ready to sacrifice themselves to save a powerful source of energy from the clutches of Megatron. But the fight won't be easy. After all, the leader of the Decepticons is ready for anything to gain power over the Galaxy.

History of creation

The appearance of Megatron is obliged to the company "Hasbro", which in 1984 released the first batch of plastic robots, connected by the common name "Transformers".

The toymaker who made his name with My Little Pony didn't plan on developing a story about intergalactic battles. The biography of Megatron and other Decepticons was created by Jim Shooter, the editor-in-chief of Marvel, with whom Hasbro worked to promote the series. To increase sales, it was decided to launch comics of the same name.

The development of future heroes was entrusted to Bob Budiansky. The editor of the robot series states that the meaning of Megatron's name is related to the scientific term "megaton", which means a powerful explosive force. By the way, Bob came up with the names and characteristics of robots in just one weekend.

The release of the comic boosted the sales of Transformers, but the launch of the cartoons of the same name beat the estimated numbers. The popular series remained in demand in the toy market for two decades. Gradually, plastic robots were replaced by new heroes.

The second wave of popularity captured Megatron and his team after the announcement of the film, which he undertook to direct. Paramount Pictures took the storyline of the first comics (for 20 years, glossy magazines were restarted several times) dedicated to the confrontation between the Decepticons and the Autobots as the basis for the plot of the blockbuster. The ratings of the film franchise confirm that such a decision turned out to be extremely correct.

"Transformers"

The biography of the cruel and cunning leader of the Decepticons began in the mines of the planet Cybertron. Designed to mine energon, Megatron undergoes a rapid evolution and takes the position of a gladiator. During the next battle, the robot gets acquainted with the archivist of the planet.

Creatures so different in nature find a common language. Smart machines spend a lot of time together and even call each other brothers. Everything changes when power comes between friends.

Megatron and Optimus Prime, who achieved a change of government, receive a leadership matrix. But first of all, the inhabitants of Cybertron entrust the control of the planet to Prime. Blame the character of Megatron - a cruel robot does not spare either enemies or allies. Embittered by other machines and a former best friend, Megatron creates his own gang. The members of his team are given the name Decepticons, which means "deceived".

Wanting to gain power, the rebel leader makes an attempt to capture the Great Spark - a powerful artifact with unprecedented energy. The war for leadership has ravaged the planet, and the Spark itself has disappeared from the sight of the warring factions.

After a lengthy search, Megatron picks up the artifact's signals on Earth. Having gone for the long-awaited prey, the robot ends up in the Arctic Ocean, from which it cannot get out on its own.

Megatron owes his own salvation from the ice captivity to a scientist named Archibald Witwicky. A man accidentally stumbles upon a smart machine and sends a motionless find to the laboratory, from where Megatron is rescued by the Decepticons, who flew in after the leader.

Protracted adaptation on Earth has caused the loss of a temporary advantage. By the time the search for the Spark began, Optimus Prime and other Autobots (Bumblebee, Jazz and others) had already settled in the United States. Therefore, attempts to find the desired artifact are accompanied by constant skirmishes with former allies.

Another factor that Megatron did not take into account is people. Thanks to the active help of the caring inhabitants of the Earth to the Autobots, the leader of the Decepticons collapses. Parts of the robot, preserved after the final battle, the military buried near Canada.

Two years later, the villain finds a way to resurrect. But now, in addition to the search for weapons, Megatron is occupied with another question: how to regain power over the group, which, during the absence of the leader, found a new leader. Alas, the ingenious robot has to be content with a secondary place in the team.

True, soon the newly-minted leader of the Decepticons is defeated. Megatron is hiding in the desert to think about the current situation and develop a plan that will finally destroy Optimus Prime.

Realizing that he will not defeat a long-standing enemy on his own, Megatron does not hesitate to attract the former allies of the Autobots to his own side. However, help in the person of Sentinel Prime still does not bring the desired result. The result is sad. Megatron is defeated and completely loses his physical shell.

The only thing that remains of the cunning manipulator is artificial intelligence, which is relocated by negligence to a new android. However, this does not mean at all that a true strategist and bloodthirsty warrior will not return to his former form and will not make another attempt to capture the Galaxy.

Screen adaptations

Megatron first appeared on television in 1984 - the animation studio "Toei Animation" launched the animated series "The Transformers". For four seasons, viewers watched the confrontation between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The voice of the leader of the invaders of the Earth was given by actor Frank Welker.

The continuation of the animated series was released in 1996 and was called "Battle of the Beasts". The protagonists of the adventure were the descendants of the characters involved in the creation of "Toei Animation". Power-hungry robot voiced by actor David Kay.

In 2007, the confrontation between robots interested the producers of Paramount Pictures. The development of Megatron required painstaking work from visual effects specialists, so the character of the Transformers movie underwent numerous improvements, including at the request of the hero's fans. The actor was entrusted to voice the leader of the Decepticons.

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" (2009) is a continuation of the popular film franchise. The fallen leader of the robots will once again make an attempt to seize power. This time, Megatron is waiting for the battle with old enemies and the support of new allies. The voice of the tyrant was again offered to Hugo Weaving.

In 2010, the animated series "Transformers: Prime" supplemented the united universe. The animated film tells about the return of Megatron to Earth and the confrontation of the robot with Optimus Prime, the old enemy and leader of the Autobots. The hero appears in 55 of the 65 episodes. Frank Welker was asked to return to voicing the character.

The continuation of the dynamic blockbuster - "Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon" - was released in 2011. Megatron does not leave attempts to seize power over the Galaxy, using not very honest means for these purposes. But the already famous Autobots will again stand up to protect the Earth.

In 2017, unexpectedly for fans of the adventures of robots in the film "b", the role of the main antagonist again went to Megatron. Fans, confident that the leader of the Decepticons died in the next battle, were happy with the next confrontation between the tyrant and the beloved Autobot Optimus Prime.

Quotes

"You fight on the side of the weak and that's why you lose."
"A clever tyrant always allows fools to act in a crisis."
"What drives you, human? Fear or courage? Nowhere to run. Give me the Spark, fool, and I'll let you live."
"Even in death there is no command but mine!"

Once upon a time, Optimus Prime and Megatron considered each other brothers and ruled the planet together. Megatron led the army, and Optimus led the scientists, but after contact with Follen, he decided that there was not enough power available, and also secretly colluded with Sentinel Prime. As a result of the outbreak of conflict, the Allspark was thrown off the planet, and Megatron followed him. Having landed at the North Pole of the Earth, he was frozen in the ice, and later found by the traveler Archibald Witwicky.

The specially created organization "Sector 7" moved the frozen Megatron to their base in the Hoover Dam, but in 2007 he was discovered and released by the Decepticons. In the ensuing battle, Sam Witwicky placed the Allspark in the Decepticon's chest, taking his life. Megatron's body was buried in the Laurentian Trench, where he was later found by his subordinates and revived with an Allspark shard.

The restored Megatron defeated Optimus Prime in combat, but avoided the ensuing battle in Egypt. Instead, he went into hiding in Africa, where he tried to raise a new generation of Decepticons. Sentinel Prime took over leadership. Megatron nevertheless intervened in the final battle between Optimus and Sentinel, and then tried to surrender, but was killed.

However, Megatron's head retained the ability to interfere with what was happening, due to which Galvatron was created, inheriting part of his personality.

The Transformers (Generation 1)

Megatron was created by the Decepticons to be the perfect leader, and when he went on the offensive, the Autobots were soundly defeated. Soon, almost the entire planet was captured by the Decepticons. When the war depleted Cybertron's rich resources, he followed the Autobots to Earth.

The leader of the Decepticons came up with incredible plans to destroy the enemies, but they were not destined to come true, and he suffered defeat after defeat. He also had to constantly put in his place Starscream, who doubted the leader's ability to win a final victory over the Autobots. In 2005, Megatron led an assault on an Autobot city on Earth that culminated in the critically wounded Decepticon. The helpless Megatron was ejected into outer space, where Unicron found him and remade him into Galvatron.

On June 22, the most anticipated blockbuster of this summer, the fifth part of Transformers, is released. The creators of The Last Knight promise to surprise the audience with a large-scale battle, the analogues of which have not yet been known by the transformers universe. While the world froze in anticipation of a spectacular confrontation, let's remember what weapons are in the arsenal of the Autobots and Decepticons.

1. Star Sword

Who created: Solus Prime

Who owned: Prima, Optimus Prime

Where does it appear: animated series "Transformers: Prime", the game "Pulsar Defense"

The Sword of Primes instills fear in enemies: it is a powerful weapon with impressive dimensions. According to legend, the sword was created from three transformers. Only the hand of Prime can own it, and this should be taken literally: in order to control the sword, Megatron had to transplant the hand of one of the Primes. The Star Sword strikes opponents even at a great distance - such an impressive power from the waves it produces. With this weapon in the animated series "Transformers: Prime" Optimus damaged the hovering ship of the Decepticons. The transformer itself was on Earth.

2. Hammer Solus Prime

Who created: Solus Prime

Who owned: Solus Prime, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ultra Magnus

Where does it appear: animated series "Transformers: Prime", the game Transformers: Devastation

The artifact created by the true Prime is capable of transforming matter, turning the inanimate into the living. The hammer is used to create weapons with specified characteristics. The power of the artifact is activated by Prime's hand. In the game Devastation, for example, only two transformers can use the hammer - Grimlock and Optimus.

3. Prime Crusher (second name - Dark Star Sword)

Who created: Megatron

Who owned: Megatron

Where does it appear:

The Prime Crusher was specifically designed to counter the Star Sword: it's not for nothing that it is also called the Dark Star Sword. The weapon is forged from dark energon, for this Megatron had to use the Hammer of Solus Prime (the leader of the Decepticons replaced his hand with Prime's hand so that the hammer would listen to him). It (like the sword crafted by Solus Prime) is capable of producing high-powered shockwaves. However, they are not so concentrated as to cut objects at a distance. But the Prime Crusher is harder than the blade of the leader of the Autobots: in the battle between Optimus and Megatron, the Star Sword shattered into pieces from the blow of the Dark Star Sword (Transformers: Prime, Alpha, Omega series).

4. Toks-En

Who created: Decepticon scientists

Who owned: Decepticons

Where does it appear: the animated series "Transformers: Prime", the game "Fall of Cybertron"

Tox-En is a weapon of mass destruction. This is a poisonous form of energon. The weapon was ordered to be created by Megatron during the war with the Autobots. A short-term effect of Tox-En on a transformer causes weakness, a long-term effect leads to paralysis and even death.

5. Immobilizer

Who created: Decepticon scientists

Who owned: Airachnid, Bulkhead

Where does it appear: animated series "Transformers: Prime"

The weapon was designed to immobilize the Autobots in combat. It is able to "freeze" the transformer, but it is also used to "defrost". The immobilizer was used against Bulkhead and Optimus Prime and then destroyed. The Transformers would have remained immobilized forever if Ratchet had not been able to restore the Decepticon weapons and unfreeze his comrades-in-arms with it. In the battle on Cybertron, Bulkhead used weapons against its creators - the Decepticons.

6. Spark extractor

Who created: Decepticon scientists

Who owned: Decepticons

Where does it appear: animated series "Transformers: Prime"

The weapon is aimed at depriving transformers of a spark. The extractor has a large radius of action. During the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, the weapons were taken from their creators and sent to Earth. This is the first artifact that transformers have found on Earth. The weapon helped the Autobots destroy the Vehicons. The Extractor was taken out of action by Megatron, for which he used the Dark Sword.

7. Blade Blade of Chaos

Who created: Solus Prime

Who owned: Nexus Prime

Where does it appear: unified universe novel Transformers: Exiles

The Blade of Chaos is a powerful weapon used by Nexus Prime. It is in the body of a "gestalt", a composite robot. Nexus used the sword in the battle with Thundertron, then the size of the weapon and the power of Prime forced the enemy to retreat.

8. Resonance blaster

Who created: Decepticons

Who owned: Soundwave, Knockout

Where does it appear: animated series "Transformers: Prime"

The weapon generates low-frequency sound waves, which causes damage to the enemy. The action of the blaster is aimed at damaging the hearing of the enemy. However, the weapon is also capable of influencing objects, and the lower the sound frequency, the stronger the effect. A resonant blaster attached to the wrist that glows red when activated.

9 Flammable Cannon

Who created: autobots

Who owned: Sideswipe, R-Blade

Where does it appear: animated series "Transformers", the game Devastation

A small-looking machine gun is able to strike the enemy with impressive tongues of flame. Sideswipe loves this weapon very much. The cannon helped out many times in skirmishes with the Decepticons. It can be used to cut energy chains (as the Racer did in the episode "Help, Dinobots").

10. Gyro inhibitor

Who created: Wheeljack

Who owned: Wheeljack

Where does it appear: Transformers animated series, IDW comics

The weapon was built for himself by the Autobot Wheeljack. He placed a gyro-inhibitor in his shoulder cannon. The action of the weapon is aimed at putting the enemy out of action for a while. True, for this you need to hit it, since the weapon does not act as a radius. The gyro-inhibitor in "Dinobots Help" helped Wheeljack stop Megatron himself.

Even the simplest "gun" from the transformers universe can give odds to any "human" weapon from the thematic selection of paintings, despite the fact that the directors have already come up with a huge number of options for super-powerful weapons. In the fifth part of the Transformers film franchise, people will once again have to confront the machines. Surely transformers will use the entire arsenal of their weapons and develop new ones. The stakes are too high, let's hope that Michael Bay armed the opposing sides to the teeth, and the fight will please the entertainment.

Biography

background

According to surviving accounts, Megatron began his career on Cybertron as a gladiator. In those distant times, they were allies with Optimus Prime (who was then a simple archivist and was called Orion Pax). Both of them were not satisfied with the then leadership of Cybertron, and they fought together for freedom. However, after the victory, their paths diverged: Megatron considered himself offended by the fact that the Matrix of Leadership was not given to him, but to Optimus, and forever hated the latter. Since then, there has been a feud between Megatron and Prime, which, according to the deep conviction of the leader of the Decepticons, can only end with the death of one of them.

Generation 1

When, during the protracted war, the energy resources of Cybertron were depleted and the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, left it to search for new sources of energy, Megatron, taking with him the most experienced Decepticon fighters, set off in pursuit of them on his Nemesis battle cruiser. Having caught up with the Autobots, he boarded their ship "Ark", but did not win - having fallen into a meteor shower, both ships crashed and crashed to prehistoric Earth. There, for 4 million years, the transformers were in a deactivated state, having awakened already today (according to the chronology of the series, in 1984).
Having learned what sources of energy the Earth possesses, Megatron set out to capture them, regardless of people. Optimus Prime and the Autobots had to become the defenders of our planet. This turned out to be a very difficult task for them, since the forces of Megatron, thanks to the energy resources stolen on Earth, have increased significantly. A number of technical advantages turned out to be on his side - the presence of strong aviation, gestalts (the Autobots had neither one nor the other for a long time), as well as a space bridge to Cybertron, from where reinforcements came. In an effort to achieve victory at any cost, Megatron tirelessly invented more and more new ways to deal with Prime and the Autobots, not even stopping at the prospect of destroying the entire Earth. True, over time, he realized that the destruction of the Earth would also mean the termination of access to its resources, so in some cases he had to unwittingly act in concert with Optimus Prime, saving the Earth from death.

The fighting, now flaring up, then weakening, dragged on until the city, when Megatron decided that the time had come to end the Autobots forever. Knowing that they did not yet have enough energy for a full-scale attack on Cybertron, he made an attempt to launch a preemptive strike. To do this, he and his select squad attacked an Autobot shuttle sent to Earth for energy, and killed its entire crew, so that, using the shuttle as cover, they could freely enter Autobot City and capture it. However, Megatron's calculation did not materialize - he failed to catch the Autobots by surprise. The battle at the walls of the City dragged on all night, and in the morning reinforcements arrived in the person of Optimus Prime and the Dinobots. Megatron entered into a duel with Prime, seriously injured him, but he himself was badly injured. During the flight to Cybertron, he was thrown into outer space along with other wounded Decepticons, and there, being on the verge between life and death, he fell into the field of gravity of the powerful Unicron, a transformer planet ... From this moment, the story of Megatron ends, and the story of Galvatron begins.

"Age of Beasts"

In this version, which takes place many centuries after the events described in The Transformers, Megatron is the commander of the predacons, a distant descendant of Megatron from The First Generation. But, unlike his ancestor, his status on Cybertron is not too high, and the fact that he and a gang of his minions stole the Golden Disc (the ancient and most valuable relic of Cybertronians) did not add to his popularity. Physically, he is also noticeably weaker than the "first" Megatron (in hand-to-hand fights with Primal - a descendant of Optimus Prime and the leader of the maximums - as a rule, he is defeated and forced to retreat), but much more cunning and insidious. He is smart, insightful, prudent. Each of his actions is carefully thought out and usually crowned with success (at least in the beginning).

Megatron arrives on Earth in search of rich deposits of energon, but, having discovered them, is in no hurry to return to his "historical homeland", and not only because he and his accomplices are wanted as criminals. His true plans and intentions remain largely a mystery even to those close to him. However, all of them are ultimately aimed at achieving the goal set by Megatron - to become the ruler of Cybertron, and in the future - the entire Galaxy.

"The Unicron Trilogy"

In the animated series "Transformers: Armada" goes with a squad of Decepticons to Earth to find and subdue mini-cons, and with their help to win the final victory over the Autobots. As always, he is at war with Optimus Prime and his team, plotting and implementing all sorts of intrigues against them, but in the face of a deadly threat to the entire Universe emanating from Unicron, he concludes a tactical alliance with Prime.

"Animation"

In the animated series "Transformers: Animated" (), which is a free development of the storyline of the feature film "Transformers", the main content of Megatron's struggle with the Autobots remains the possession of the "Allspark", or "Great Spark" - a source of boundless energy and a repository of knowledge.

"Transformers Prime"

The action of this series takes place three years after the events shown in TF Animated. All these three years, Megatron wandered somewhere in the universe, gathering forces for a new attack on the Autobots. He managed to find out the secret of Unicron's Blood, or Dark Energon, a substance that allows you to revive dead transformers. With this knowledge, he returns to the Decepticons (much to the dismay and annoyance of Starscream, who is forced to cede his command post to Megatron). By order of Megatron, the construction of a space bridge between Earth and Cybertron begins; but the bridge was blown up by the Autobots before a full-scale invasion of "dead robots" began, and Megatron himself disappeared again. He was considered dead, but it soon became clear that he was alive. The injuries received were very severe, and the recovery was delayed; perhaps it would not have taken place at all if not for Bumblebee, who, although not of his own free will, found for Megatron a fragment of Dark Energon lost on the battlefield. With his help, the Decepticon leader healed his wounds.
So, Megatron again took the reins of power into his manipulators, and the first thing he did was brutally beat Starscream, who during his illness tried to usurp power.

Biography in feature films

According to the filmmakers' version, in ancient times, Megatron served as the Lord Protector of Cybertron; along with Optimus Prime, he ruled the planet wisely and fairly, and Optimus called him his brother. But later Megatron, having learned about the power of the Allspark, wished to own it alone and use it for his own purposes, and when Prime opposed this, he gathered an army of his supporters and started a war; as a result, Cybertron was devastated, and the Allspark was lost somewhere in space. While searching for the Allspark, Megatron ended up in our solar system; he located the Allspark, however, was unable to reach it - due to a lack of power and a malfunction in the navigation system, caused by the influence of the Earth's magnetic field, he himself became a prisoner, frozen in the ice of the Arctic Ocean.
In 1897, Captain Archibald Witwicky found Megatron in an ice cave. In the city, the frozen body of Megatron (codenamed "INP-1" - "Alien of Non-Biological Origin") was moved under the Hoover Dam, to a purpose-built secret laboratory, where his devices were studied to advance terrestrial technologies. However, in 2007, the Decepticons managed to locate Megatron's whereabouts and free him. During a fierce battle with the Autobots and their human allies, Megatron ripped Jazz in half and then entered into a duel with Optimus Prime. After severely injuring the Autobot leader, Megatron stopped paying attention to him and switched to Sam Witwicky, in whose hands the Allspark was at that moment. While he was chasing Sam, Optimus Prime came to his senses and the fight between the giants resumed. The outcome of this fight was ultimately decided by Sam - he managed to place the Allspark in Megatron's chest, and the colossal energy of the Great Spark "short-circuited" all the internal systems of the Decepticon leader and destroyed most of his body. What was left of Megatron was buried at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, off the east coast of Canada.

Surprisingly, for a long time Megatron had a technoform absolutely inappropriate for a villain of this magnitude: in the animated series " Transformers G1"He, having taken on an earthly appearance, transformed into a Walther P-38 pistol", while greatly decreasing in size, so that they could shoot other transformers. However, in the future, this inconsistency was eliminated: in the animated series "Transformers: Armada" he transforms into a tank. Forms a "small gestalt" with a minicon named "Leader-1".

In the feature film "Transformers", Megatron, contrary to the tradition that has developed in the animated series and comics, turns into an aircraft - the Cybertronian starship. This is a real miracle of technology: plasma engines, armor coating that disperses laser volleys, and formidable weapons - two cannons in the bow and lightning emitters on the wings. Among other things, in starship mode, Megatron is equipped with special devices that generate a special distorting field that makes him invisible. However, at the end of the film, as a result of the battle with Prime and the explosion of the Allspark, he was so badly damaged that the creators of the sequel even initially considered doing without him in the next film. Then, however, Megatron was still "brought back to life", but his alt form is now again a futuristic tank (this can be explained by the fact that excavator parts were used to repair it). In the film, however, Megatron only transforms once, during the first fight with Optimus Prime, remaining in robot mode most of the rest of the time. His weapons are a plasma gun and a sword.
In the third film, Megatron, again contrary to tradition, began to transform into a truck. His weapon was a shotgun.

Character

In some series, Megatron is serious (Transformers Animated), in others he is overconfident (Transformers: Cybertron). However, the basis of his character does not fundamentally change. He is an extremely intelligent, fierce and determined leader. Instantly orientated in difficult situations. Mercy and compassion are empty words for him, but he is able to appreciate the generosity shown by the enemy and make a return gesture of goodwill. Possesses such a quality necessary for a good leader as the ability to use the abilities of his subordinates with maximum effect, no matter how insignificant they may seem. However, Megatron's lust for power and self-confidence can play into the hands of the Autobots - in the film, he betrays Sentinel Prime when he is ready to kill Optimus.

Relationships with others

Megatron shows his cool temper not only in relation to enemies - his subordinates also get a lot from him, especially if they try to argue or object to him when he has already made a decision. He requires them to "give all the best" in full force and does not forgive failures. However, the Decepticons overwhelmingly accept Megatron's authority as leader unconditionally and obey him. The only exception is the Brawler, who considers Megatron's strategy in the war with the Autobots ineffective, and himself behind the times. He behaves defiantly towards Megatron, constantly criticizing his actions, at every opportunity he tries to overthrow Megatron and take his place. Sometimes he almost succeeds, but in the end, victory always goes to Megatron. However, Megatron values Brawler's fighting qualities too much to destroy him. One way or another, their constant clashes are one of the main storylines in the series.

According to the official scale, his qualities are evaluated as follows: intelligence, strength, skill, endurance and firepower - 10, courage - 9, speed - 4.

Summary

Megatron is a kind of perfection: he has no technical flaws, no known weaknesses. He is the ideal leader of the Decepticons, much like Optimus Prime is the ideal leader of the Autobots.

In culture

Megatron is mentioned in the song "Hellrider" by British heavy metal band Judas Priest.
