The Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed a procedure for searching for mobile phones, computers and any electronic equipment. It is not necessary to apply independently to the "K" department. Employees of the department accept requests exclusively from the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They do not accept applications from individuals.

Further, from department "K" requests are made to cellular companies about the presence of your phone's IMEI on the network. If the stolen phone is serviced by one of the cellular operators of Chuvashia and its IMEI has not been changed, it will definitely be found.

Blocking the number from the operator is free of charge. The fee for keeping the number begins to accrue after two weeks of blocking, and amounts to a ruble per day.

Beeline blocking

At Beeline, you can block the phone through a call to the operator, or in the salon. Unlike MTS, the operator does not charge money for blocking a number, but under the terms of individual tariff plans, a fee may be charged when the subscriber's phone is inactive, or a tariff fee may be charged.

But when replacing a SIM card, the operator now charges a fee. It is thirty rubles. At the same time, they promise to strengthen security measures when receiving a new card, and notify customers of such actions through the user's account and via SMS.

Blocking MegaFon

The operator divides the blocking of the number into two types, and the cost of the service depends on this. So, if you block a SIM card in case of its loss, then the fee will begin to accrue from the eighth day after blocking in the amount of one ruble per day. If the subscriber simply wants to temporarily block the use of his number, then a similar fee is charged from the first day.

In addition to the ability to call the operator and contact the office, you can use your account on the site, or write through the customer support form on the MegaFon portal.

Tele2 blocking

Where to go and what number to call to block the Tele2 SIM card? In addition to visiting the operator's salon, you can use a call to the contact center from any phone. However, the operator does not have a single toll-free number 8800 in Russia, and if you are unable to dial from a Tele2 number, then a call fee may be charged from another operator.

If you have access to your account, then you can not call the operator to block the SIM card, but do it in the settings by going to the "Security and Authorization" section.

Number recovery

After blocking the number, you can restore it by calling the numbers of the contact center of your operator. If for this you need to get a new card, then you will need to visit the salon of the company with a passport. Step 1. Block, search, erase

Any protection can be bypassed, so the first thing we should do after a smartphone is lost or stolen is to block it and try to trace the last location. And in which case, just erase all data from memory. All this can be done both using the tools built into the OS, and using special software such as Prey and other anti-thefts. The first option is always available, even if you have not installed anything on your smartphone, so let's consider it.

Android

  1. Open in browser device manager.
  2. Select the desired device from the list. Click on the small location icon. If the smartphone is online, its position will appear on the map.
  3. Using the “Block” command, we put a digital password on the smartphone and enter a message that the thief will see. We also indicate the number that the thief can call to return the smartphone (an oxymoron!).

Using the “Clear” command, you can delete all data from the smartphone (and if the smartphone is not currently connected to the Internet, the operation will be performed as soon as the Internet appears). However, keep in mind that the memory card will remain untouched, since there is nothing to look for on it except for photos and cache of games. Two hacks:

  • all the described operations can be performed from another smartphone / tablet using the application (surprise!) Device Manager;
  • Google recently launched timeline service, which shows all the places your devices have been (along with travel routes).


iOS

  1. Open the Find iPhone page or launch the Find My iPhone app on another iOS device.
  2. We select the device and see its geoposition on the map.
  3. Turn on Lost Mode. It allows you to remotely lock your device with a four-digit passcode, as well as display a customizable message with a phone number on the lock screen to give an intruder a chance to turn himself in.

In the same way, you can delete all data from the device. But after this procedure, it will be impossible to determine the geolocation using the Find My iPhone program. But the Activation Lock feature will remain enabled, which means no one can use your iPhone until they activate it with their Apple ID. Activation Lock is automatically disabled after you unlink your smartphone from your Apple ID.


Windows phone

  1. We go to the address of the Microsoft device.
  2. Select the phone and click on the "Search phone" item. We see a map.
  3. Click "Block" and follow the instructions. If your phone has not yet set a password, you will need to enter it. It will be used to unlock.

By the way, I advise you to turn on the Find My Phone service in advance. It will save locations every few hours to make it easier to locate your phone. To activate it, in the settings, check the box next to the "Search phone" item.

SIM card

We call the mobile operator and ask him to block the SIM card. Operators usually do not immediately block the SIM card, but send messages to it for some time asking them to return the stolen phone.

Step 2. Disconnect from the clouds

Modern smartphones are completely cloud-based. Google, iCloud, Dropbox, Facebook, Vkontakte, Twitter are all cloud services and we use them every day. Of course, if your smartphone falls into the hands of another person, it will automatically get access to almost your entire life, from mail and calendar to personal files from Dropbox. However, in most cases, it will not be difficult for us to untie the smartphone from the clouds, and for this we don’t even have to change passwords.

In the case of Android, the first cloud to disconnect from is, of course, Google. To do this, open the page of applications associated with the account, click on the name of the lost / stolen device and click "Delete". This action will completely disconnect the device from Google, which means from the market, Gmail, calendar and a bunch of other company services. Only cached data will remain on the smartphone (mail, for example). In this case, Device Manager will continue to see the device and show its location.
