... - Is it okay that I'm like this, in jeans and a body shirt? Maybe change clothes? I don't know your audience very well.

Yes, everything is fine. You and Sasha did not "charge" this option! His "joke" is a response to the request of our viewers. As for those who are now in the hall, I am sure that they will only welcome your duet.

This dialogue of the author of the lines with the already promoted pop singer Natalya Shturm took place backstage at the Cultural and Sports Complex of Kazan State University during the second part. Alas, only one concert, organized by the editors of the newspaper "Evening Kazan", was given by "meter of thieves' chords" Alexander Novikov and his beautiful protégé Natalia Shturm.

And our acquaintance with Natasha took place earlier, after the first part of the concerto, which she worked out in full.

- Natasha, they say you are our countrywoman ...

Well no! Gossip all this. I have no relatives in Tatarstan. There are acquaintances. in Naberezhnye Chelny. We vacationed with them. I think in Thailand. Such nice people! It's a pity that we don't have a concert in the motor city... But, I think, next time we will sing not only in Kazan.

- And how do you like the reception of Kazan?

You know I'm delighted! Such a kind, warm aura emanates from the audience. It turns us on! I mean myself, Sasha, our musicians, cameramen-arrangers... However, there is no bad audience. Random - yes! There are bad artists, those who cannot stir up the audience, convey to their hearts what has been said in stanzas, notes and chords. Having worked out my part of the concert, I realized that those present in the hall today are not random people. They all love us and want to listen to our songs.

There is an unmeasured amount of gossip about you and Sasha. They say that you allegedly delayed the deadline in the zone, and that Novikov won you at cards ... Tell me, please, about everything as it is.

Gossip - they are gossip! In some ways, however, we ourselves are to blame.

I have been involved in music since childhood. Finished everything I could. I am a native Muscovite, born and raised in the capital. I was brought up by my mother and grandmother, thanks to whom I successfully graduated from the Moscow Musical College named after the October Revolution. Later she studied academic vocals at the State Conservatory with Zurab Sotkilava. She dreamed of becoming, if not Elena Obraztsova, then at least the third Tamara Sinyavskaya.

- So you, in theory, should have become an opera singer?

Yes, sure! At first, there were only classics around me, classics and again classics ... I liked to sing arias from famous operas. However, my external data and my temperament did not make it possible to stay in the classical vocal genre.

- Why so?

I'll try to explain. You see, as a performer of classical opera arias, you must sing what has been put into your mouth by long-dead composers. However, there is no talk, classical music is beautiful, and any person involved in music in general should start with the classics. But today I sing what they write especially for me, for Natalia Shturm. I sing their songs! I sing songs that no one has ever sung before me. And the feelings embedded in the words and sounds of these songs, no one experienced before me. Well, which of me is the old countess from the "Queen of Spades"? Which one is Carmen?

- That is, at a certain moment you realized that the opera genre is not yours?

I have tried all existing vocal genres. Do you want me to sing for you everything you want right now? And more than ten languages? When I quit opera, I was fond of the folklore of different peoples of the world for a long time ... Of course, I know the foreign, Soviet and Russian classics very well, but ... No, I have never stepped on the stage of the opera house. Frankly, according to my voice data, I would not have pulled on a performer of opera arias. A-flat, B-flat ... "The crocodile is dying" - this is how experts would have stated my singing on the opera stage!

- Natasha, is Sturm your pseudonym?

In no case! Sturm is my native surname. And by the way, my grandfather, an intellectual to the marrow of his bones, worked at the Moscow Theater named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko. He was an excellent performer of opera parts. But I turned out to be a kind of "pop outcast" ...

- And where did this outcast come from? Where exactly did it all start?

For more than a year I worked in the Moscow folklore ensemble under the direction of Vladimir Nazarov. But I also felt that it was none of my business, not mine! Imagine me in a sundress, howling: "Oh, the viburnum is blooming ..." In 1991, in "Moskovsky Komsomolets" I read an announcement that the Kobzon firm "Moskovit" would organize an all-Union competition "Show Queen -91" in Sochi. Moreover, only those girls who could not only sing, but also dance, smart, quick-witted, could take part in this competition. I applied to participate. The director of the competition, having met me, demanded that I change my appearance a little, find a different image. And he said that I might be the first. And I was married at the time. I run home and tell. My husband, of course, did not object, but said: "Well, that's it! Natasha is gone!"

- Your husband could not stand your success in this competition and ...

Yes, that's how it happened! Have you read about it in "Speed-info"?

- And something else!

It's about the zone and maps, or what?

- Well. What's not true?

Lies, of course! ... Let's talk about everything in order.

So, in Sochi, I win first place and become "show queen - 91". Naturally, after this triumph, she had certain hopes. It all started, as they say, for health! Glazunov brought me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, Marusev invited me to star in his program. Well, I think now a lot of business proposals will come. Fig you! I sit like a fool on my prize video camera and ... Yes, they just “threw” me. I have nothing to live on, and they give me a video camera! .. No, my voice is not bad. I wouldn't go hungry. It's just that somehow all the bad things fell into one heap: pipe dreams, unfulfilled projects, discord with her husband and divorce ...

- Natasha, let's get down to business.

Ah, well, yes. In 1993, and then I worked at the Moscow Variety Theater, I once stood backstage in front of a mirror, so to speak, I sketched the final touches to my own portrait. I look around. I see a tall interesting man approaching me from the other end of the corridor. "Well, - I think - another one!" You yourself know how rich men love impressive young ladies! I've had enough of all these playboys. This one comes up to me and asks: "Girl, are you dancing or singing?" Well, I think, they say, for sure, I was not mistaken. But still she answered: "I sing." Although, to be honest, I was offended - it always seemed to me that I just look like a singer. What questions can there be? Listen, and then it was generally a cool joke.

So he asks me: “And what is your last name?” I answer: “Natalya Sturm. And who will you be?” He introduces himself: "Alexander Novikov!" I had a rather vague idea of him, so I blurted out: "Bah! I thought Novikov was a small, plump, bald Jew." You should have seen the expression on his face!.. But he restrained himself and asked: "What are you singing?" I told him: "Now hear." He really went to the hall and listened to all my songs. And after the performance, he comes up to me and says: "Throw all your songs in the trash!" Naturally, I freaked out: What am I going to do then?" Novikov said without a shadow of embarrassment: "I'll write you new ones. You will sing them and become truly famous!" Well, I think he's lying, probably. However, there was nothing to lose.

- Who does not take risks does not drink champagne?

Well, of course. I really don't like champagne. But now we are already recording the third album!

- What was the name of the first one?

- (Laughs.) "I didn't deceive you!"

- Is that what it was called?

No, it's a joke, the album was called "I'm not inflatable!" Almost the same, don't you agree?

- Yeah. And second?

- "School romance". The third one has not even been given a working title yet, but it will be all about love, loyalty, devotion, and life in general.

- How about the fact that Sasha won you at cards?

Ah, well, yes, I promised to tell you… One day, correspondents from AIDS-Info came to us with a request to tell us something about themselves (you know the specifics of this newspaper). Well, I briefly outlined my biography, told about the competition, about my husband, in short, everything that you already know about. It didn’t seem enough for them, they began to pester Sasha. And he take it and blurt out: "Come up with this" something of your own!" So they came up with a story with cards. When I read the headline, I almost fainted! Such are the things ...

- And how do you feel about our brethren after this story?

Journalists are good and different. I'm fine with smart people. Moreover, I like to communicate with those who start a lively, interesting conversation, just like a new acquaintance, without standard questions written in advance on a piece of paper. But when I see that during my speech the journalist is thinking hard about how to formulate the next question, then I answer him accordingly, tensely, shortly and dryly. In dealing with such "hard workers" you think only about one thing: "If only he had faded faster, or something!"

- Natasha, is there any living creatures at home?

Certainly! Just a week ago, I gave an interview for the newspaper "Live Sound", in which I spoke about my beloved baby Fedor Alexandrovich.

- What kind of miracle Yudo is this, is it really a crocodile, or what?

Well! I have a real Latin American caiman at home, such a small baby, only 44 centimeters from the tip of the tail to the nose.

- And what, he runs freely around the apartment?

No, I bought a terrarium for him. You understand yourself: although a baby, but still a crocodile. I educate him in the spirit of the new time. And in general, a cool guard will grow out of him ...

- Does anyone else live at home besides Fyodor Alexandrovich?

Daughter Lena. I specifically named her after my grandmother, so that my mother diligently engaged in her upbringing when I was on tour.

- Natasha, do you have a hobby?

Yes. I love to write very much.

- Probably poetry, and probably lyrical?

And here it is not. I can't write poetry. I write prose. At one time, I graduated from a theater and literature school, they even predicted that I would study at the journalism department of Moscow State University. But ... I always dreamed of singing, journalistic bread did not particularly attract me. In addition, as my mother told me, if you love and know how to write, then it is never too late to start doing it.

- What is your ideal man?

Men or husband? ( laughing). For me, those are two big differences. If a man, then generous, generous, courageous, risk-averse. And the ideal of a husband is a calm, balanced, silent man ...

- ... An engineer, let's say, who has not received a salary for two years?

Well, let! The main thing is to be a good person. I earn enough. An engineer is an engineer, as long as he doesn't yell at me and quarrel over trifles. And yet ... In all men, without exception, I hate stupidity, cowardice, greed and mediocrity.

- And in women?

I really don't want to talk about them. I don't like women because I know their breed very well.

- There are rumors that you and Sasha, how should I say this ...

- (laughing). Got it, got it, got it. If I say that Sasha and I do not sleep, then you still won’t believe me. And if I tell you how many times a week we sleep, then you won’t believe it! Let everyone who is interested in it think what they want!

- Do you dream of foreign tours?

Why are they needed? Today, on the contrary, Western performers tend to Russia. Here, touring earnings are much higher!

- Sooner or later you will have to leave the stage. So, what is next? Writing, business?

In the future, I would like to open my own business, organize a private company such as a health complex: massagers, exercise equipment, beauty parlors, in general, a women's salon.

- Do you have any idols among contemporary pop singers?

I like individual songs of different singers and singers, but in order to single out someone separately ... I don’t know. I am impressed by the voice of Meladze, the dynamics of Agutin, the melodiousness of the songs that her father writes for Angelica Varum, the good energy emanating from Kirkorov (I know Philip, by the way, since school). I respect Alla Borisovna Pugacheva very much ...

At that moment, Sasha Novikov entered the dressing room, however, citing fatigue, he refused to be interviewed:

Ask a couple of questions, only briefly and specifically!

- How do you see the prospects of your creative activity?

The most rosy.

- And if specifically?

Nowhere to be specific.

- Under what articles did you pull the term in places not so remote?

According to the 93rd note. and 174, parts two. I spent six years for nothing! At the moment, the verdict, alas, was belatedly canceled by the Supreme Court of Russia due to the lack of corpus delicti.

- Where do you find money to create video clips?

I am a millionaire. Firstly, I make good money at concerts, and secondly, I own several companies both in Russia and abroad: in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates. Singing is nothing more than a hobby for me...

At parting, Natasha left her home phone number and invited her to visit, to get acquainted with Fedor Alexandrovich. The invitation, of course, was accepted ...

Natalya Yuryevna Sturm is a Russian pop singer, performer of the hit of the 90s “School romance is over”, a writer. Natalya was born on June 28, 1966 in Moscow. Father Yuri soon after the birth of his daughter left the family. The girl's mother, Elena Konstantinovna, a literary editor, settled in her parents' house in Maly Kozikhinsky Lane and devoted herself to raising her daughter.

Natalya began to study music from the age of 6, the girl was accepted into the music school. I. Dunayevsky to the piano department. Soon, Natalia discovered vocal abilities that were inherited from her grandfather Konstantin Nikolaevich Staritsky, an opera singer, lyric-dramatic tenor. The former nobleman devoted his whole life to the stage, having worked in the theater and Nemirovich-Danchenko and in the ensemble.

At the insistence of her mother and grandmother Serafima Pavlovna, Natalya studied at the literary and theater school No. 232, after which in 1982 she went to the preparatory courses of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of People's Artist of the USSR. An experienced mentor immediately identified in the beginning singer the makings of a pop singer and advised Natalya Sturm to change direction.

In 1984, the girl entered the music school. October Revolution in the class of pop vocals to the teacher Svetlana Vladimirovna Kaytanjyan. Since 1987, she began performing as part of the Chamber Jewish Musical Theatre. At the same time, the singer was invited to the theater-studio "Third Direction" to participate in the production of "The Threepenny Opera".

In her fourth year, the girl gets a job as a soloist of the State Folklore Ensemble under the leadership of Vladimir Nazarov. Natalya does not leave her passion for literature either. By 1990 he graduated from the Institute of Culture with a degree in bibliography of literature and art.

Music

Natalya Sturm began her journey to the stage in 1991 with a performance at the All-Russian competition "Show Queen", which was held in Sochi under the patronage of JSC "Moskovit". The debut on the big stage brought the singer the title of laureate of the first prize and the audience award. After the competition, Victor Lenzon invites the girl to the Mitzvah Jewish Music Ensemble.

The talented artist accepts the invitation and begins to master the repertoire in Hebrew and Yiddish, which she did not know. The Jewish public welcomes Natalia Shturm warmly, calling the singer "our girl Natasha." Concerts are held at the Moscow Variety Theater and in major Russian cities. Songs performed by Natalia "Lyulenka", "Cigarettes", "Shemesh" are especially popular.

In 1993, a meeting took place that changed the creative biography of the artist. Natalya Shturm meets a singer-songwriter at one of the concerts, who offered the singer a joint project. The composer takes on the production of Natalia's solo program, and a year later the singer's first album, "I'm Not Inflatable", appears. But the real triumph of Natalia Sturm took place a year after the release of the second disc "School Romance".

The album's hit "School romance is over" hits the first lines of the Russian charts, and the clip is regularly broadcast on television. The number of concerts of the artist is increasing. At Natalia's performances, the musical compositions "Strange Meeting", "Black Lily", "Leather Cap" are no less popular.

Natalia Shturm in Playboy magazine

The excitement around the name of Natalia Shturm intensifies after the shooting of the singer in one of the first issues of the Russian version of Playboy magazine. In 1997, preparations began for the release of the third album of the singer "Street Artist", but Alexander Novikov had already terminated the contract with Natalya by this time. The girl has to deal with the promotion of the album herself. After preparing a new concert program, the singer leaves with tours abroad: to the USA, Israel and Cyprus.

In 2000, Natalia returned to Moscow, where she began work on a new album, Mirror of Love. The singer also tries herself as a movie actress, playing the singer Livia in the TV series of Vladimir Krasnopolsky and Vladimir Uskov "Detectives". Having received an injury in a ski resort in Switzerland in 2001, the artist was forced to go to the hospital for a month and a half, but soon the girl again gets to work and goes on tour to Siberia.

In 2002, the album "Mirror of Love" was released and the video of the same name was premiered, in which the main character was played. In the early 2000s, Natalya Sturm explored a literary niche - the artist temporarily moves away from musical creativity and begins to create detective novels. Natalya signs a contract with the Eksmo publishing house, and already in 2006 the singer's first book, Love the Color of Blood, was published. In the same year, the artist was awarded the Order of Service to Art.

In 2007, Sturm entered the Literary Institute. Gorky at the department of prose. In 2008, Natalya appears on television in the TV series Law and Order in the role of singer Elsa Parshina. A year later, the artist was offered to play herself in the comedy 220 Volts of Love.

Since 2010, a series of novels by Natalia Shturm has been published: “Die, creature, or Love is the color of loneliness”, “The sun in brackets”, “School of strict regime, or Love is the color of youth” and “All Shades of Pain”. In 2013, Natalia Shturm was awarded the Order of Merit for the development of Russian culture and art.

Personal life

Natalya Shturm was married twice. But the personal life of the artist did not work out either in the first or in the second marriage. The first husband of Natalia was a musician, operetta artist Sergei Deev, from whom in 1989 the young singer gave birth to a daughter, Elena. But when the daughter was 4 years old, the union broke up.

The second time the artist went down the aisle in 2003. Her chosen one was an entrepreneur named Igor Pavlov. The wedding took place in the most expensive restaurant in the capital, the bride's dress cost $ 3 thousand, and the engagement ring - $ 10 thousand. A year later, the son Arseniy appeared in the family, who weighed 4,350 kg at birth. But the relationship with her husband did not develop. Igor began to raise his hand against Natalya, and the singer was forced to file for divorce.

Back in 1995, the artist had an unusual household - a dwarf crocodile, which was presented to Natalya by fans. The reptile lived in the house of the artist for 16 years, until it became dangerous to others. Despite her love for the pet, Natalya Shturm was forced to give the crocodile to the Moscow Zoo.

Natalia Shturm now

In June 2016, Natalya Shturm received an invitation to participate in the program “10 Years Younger”. The singer decided to experiment with appearance because of a new romantic hobby. The chosen one of the artist was a native of Amsterdam named Tigran, who turned out to be 17 years younger than Natalia. On the program, the singer underwent a facelift, her lips and breast shape were corrected. The stylists have worked on the image of the singer, changing her hair and makeup.

On July 3, 2017, Sturm posted on Instagram about the need for treatment of her longtime friend. Under a joint photo, Natalia wrote about the true causes of the singer's illness - alcoholism. The artist wrote that she had already paid for the treatment at the detox clinic and was ready to pick up the artist, but Eugene did not agree to accept the help of a colleague. Osin refused to admit alcohol addiction and did not go to the hospital.

Now Natalya Shturm still continues to maintain relations with her ex-husband, since the son Arseniy, by decision of the court, remained to live with his father. Natalya sees her grown-up son only on weekends.

As you call the ship, so it will sail. It's more difficult with a human. And yet ... Natalya Sturm justifies her last name one hundred percent. Only the blind did not notice her gallant marching march on the national stage. Her pursuit of personal happiness is swift and inevitable. Recently I became a young mother again ... Yes, sometimes there are retreats after the assault. In her case, only to catch her breath and once again rush to the attack. Now Natalia Shturm is storming a new height. The singer is writing a book that promises to become loud and scandalous. It begins like this: “We were in the same class with Roma Abramovich at school number 232 in Moscow. Roma was in love with me, and I liked the boy Zhenya from the parallel class - he was prettier. If I had accepted Roma's courtship…” - Now it is clear who the song “School romance is over” was about. Why were they silent before? - It was very funny. When ten years had passed after graduation, and everyone had long forgotten who they studied with, we, former classmates, gathered to meet for the usual graduation anniversary. One girlfriend says: “Well, Romka, of course, will not come, but she will certainly send congratulations.” "Which Romka?" - I ask. Abramovich. - “Which Abramovich? The surname is somehow familiar, something appears in connection with Yeltsin. "So that's what he is." - "Come on!" - "What are you, - she was surprised, - he was still in love with you ... " They told me, I even managed to torture him ... - Well, don't you remember the boy Roma Abramovich at all? - No, I remembered right away. Yes, Roman! He was very quiet, modest and all the time harmlessly, let's say, smiled. Very sociable boy and very generous. On holidays, he went to his uncle in Ukhta and always brought some things from there: an Adidas sports suit, jeans. And he gave them to wear to everyone until the guys wore their clothes to holes. He studied, by the way, not very well. - But now!.. Are you biting your elbows? - Am I? You know, I honestly don't think about it. I just understand that he is not even good because he became an oligarch, but because everything is in order with his personal life. He has four children, he has a strong stable marriage, he does not participate in any scandals, he does not splash any juice in anyone's face. Lives for himself, works, loves sports. His brains are good. I don't think he gets into a fight with anyone. The man has a wonderful head. - And do you like such men? - Well, tell me, what woman would refuse to marry Abramovich? Yes, I think he is a role model. Not only because of finances, but also in terms of their human qualities. - Your book, as I understand it, is thinking very boldly. Surely there will be a lot of revelations, someone, perhaps, not too pleasant. Are you not afraid to lose the favor of someone from the powers that be? - To be afraid of wolves - do not go into the forest. Every writer understands that it is impossible to please everyone. In any, even the most innocent phrase, someone can find a catch for themselves. And even because you didn't mention him, he'll be offended. It is better not to pay attention and try to do everything qualitatively, of course, without throwing mud at anyone in passing. You see, there are people who cannot keep negative emotions in relation to anything. I understand that I can not get past this or that phenomenon. This dissonance is internal, and it makes me put my thoughts and experiences on paper. And in another way I can not, I want to say it. A person will be offended, not offended - this is his own business. - Have you made a lot of enemies with such a character? - The thing is, I'm a patient person. If so far I have not written anything and I am writing only now - with my character! - means everything: already the limit. My writing is a kind of mouthpiece. I want people to pay attention to some moments. So that young girls do not rush headlong into marrying rich men, believing that this will solve their problems. On the contrary, their problems can only begin. This time. I want to talk about the injustice of the state system. About the judicial system, far from perfect. Well, about some moments in the life of artists. Because it is generally accepted that an artist lives, by and large, like cheese in butter. And this is far from being the case… * * * - Assuming that you were a very ambitious girl as a child? - No, modest. There was not much prosperity in the family, I had intelligent and very educated parents. Mom, Elena Konstantinovna Shturm, worked as an editor at the Vysshaya Shkola publishing house. From there, by the way, I have a command of the language and a love of literature. I can't imagine a day without reading at least a few pages. - Storm, then, is not a pseudonym, as many people think? - No, that's my native surname. And as for the Pope… There was no Pope as such. Since we started talking about him, his name was Igor Zinovievich Nelin, and he did not take any part in my life. None at all. He left his mother still pregnant, that is, he immediately said that he did not need children. This is not a Jewish feature at all, almost all Jews are great family men. The family is sacred for them, and the more children, the better ... And by the way, Jews are the best men (laughs). As for this, I can't resist, it's taller than me... - Did you see your dad at all? - No, I saw my dad, he recently died, God rest his soul. But we never had a relationship, in essence, he was not my father. Mom told me that his dad, that is, my grandfather, worked in the NKVD, held some high position, and in 1937 he was shot. - Where did the surname Sturm come from? - This is not a Jewish surname - German. My grandfather Konstantin Nikolayevich Sturm was a singer and served at the Bolshoi Theatre. His grandfather is a real state councilor, a Russified German who received the nobility. One of my aunts is Vera Muromtseva, Ivan Bunin's wife. And in general, this whole branch goes back far, far back to Vladimir Staritsky, who was executed by Ivan the Terrible. This is probably where my quarrelsomeness with husbands comes from. - And the passion for singing, therefore, from the grandfather? - I started singing as soon as I was born. She studied as an opera singer at the conservatory under Zurab Sotkilava. Then she went to the music school. October Revolution, which is now a college. It's called Schnittke. And she graduated from the Institute of Culture, Faculty of Art History. - How did you get into the Chamber Jewish Musical Theatre? (KEMT, artistic director Yuri Sherling. - Ed.) - In the last year of the music school, everyone began to get a job. One of the students said: go to the theater to Gluz. I went and they took me right away. It was a very good practice: I watched how others work, I worked myself. The only negative is that in order to sing the main role, it was necessary to wait until all the main soloists fell ill. And no one was going to get sick, they even went out with a temperature, so it took a long time for me to turn. - Did you manage to feel the national flavor? Didn't a string in your soul tremble? - Oh, I always liked it madly. As soon as the first sounds of the Jewish melody began, tears themselves flowed from the eyes. I am so sorry that this direction is not so developed in Russia now, except that the guys from the Turetsky choir sing Jewish songs, and they sing brilliantly, I am delighted with them ... Even at the Show Queen-91 competition, from which my pop career began, I sang the Jewish song "Varnichkes". I sang, and my skin was cold. From the music, from these overflows, completely crazy. I do not know a single song, let it be Italian, Georgian, Ukrainian - it is believed that these peoples have the most melodic songs - which would be compared with the Jewish one. I am responsible for my words, I will say it anywhere, even at a Russian folk dance festival. And when I sang this song, something crazy started in the hall, such a success! - Is it true that practically the entire troupe in the Jewish musical theater consisted of Russians? - No that's not true. There were both Georgians and Ukrainians. By the way, both Dolina and Ukupnik worked in this theater. But they were all much older - I did not find any of them. The only thing is that Yasha Yavno worked with me. He sang simply amazingly, all the sadness of the Jewish people sounded in his voice. It was possible to fall in love with him when he sang ... Then they took me to the team of Viktor Lenzon, to the Mitsva ensemble. There I already had a solo program: the first part in Yiddish, the second in Hebrew. We toured Russia, I had several solo concerts at the Variety Theater. - Well, just a real Jewish singer. “This is the future that was predicted for me. At my concerts, there was simply nowhere for an apple to fall. Real Jews came, they said: “Our girl, our girl ...” But it turned out differently. Many authoritative people then assured that the Jewish song in Russia had little prospects ... - Including Alexander Novikov, who once said that he won the singer Natalia Shturm at cards? -  Novikov was very fond of telling me in a state of alcoholic intoxication: "Jewish muzzle, someday you will understand that you lived with a great man." I remembered this phrase well ... And then, seeing my success in the Variety Theater, as a person who does not particularly love this nation, Novikov immediately said that all these songs should be thrown away, he would write wonderful and beautiful ones for me, he would be engaged in my production for me too new horizons will open. They really opened up… But even now at my concerts I always sing one or two Jewish songs. And I don't care how they react to it. I was even warned more than once: in this company, for example, an anti-Semitic governor, it’s better not to sing Jewish songs. And I still sing.

Alexander NOVIKOV - a singer, poet, composer - keeps aloof not only from the domestic show business, which he hates with all his heart, but also from the glorious brotherhood of performers of his own songs - chansonniers and bards. He found himself in some niche of his own, in which he is presented in a single copy and where he feels incredibly comfortable. And it has been that way since childhood.

My father, a military pilot, met my mother when she was studying at the Agricultural Institute in Simferopol, - says Alexander Novikov. - Then my father was sent to serve on the Kuril island of Iturup, where I was born to them. Then they transferred to Sakhalin. My younger sister Natasha was born there.

Natasha is a talented athlete, she played for the country's youth basketball team and was considered an incredibly promising player. But she died at the age of 17 in a plane crash - she flew to Prague with the youth team and the plane crashed. All the girls 16-17 years old that were in the national team crashed. After that, the mother never recovered, did not survive this blow.

Hooligan-excellent

- Did you meet with your father then?

Parents separated in Frunze, father retired and married again. I was already an adult and came to Kyrgyzstan on business. Found it. We tried not to talk about our families - we had the usual household conversation between father and son. A month later, my father passed away. It's good that I saw him goodbye.

Mom went through a divorce quite hard, did not want to stay in Frunze and changed her apartment to Sverdlovsk - that was the name of the city of Yekaterinburg at that time. Why he is, I don't know. She once studied there and apparently retained warm memories of the city.

For several years I studied in Slavgorod in Altai. Parents sent there just in the period of their divorce. Studied, by the way, on one five. My memory was phenomenal!

- It is very difficult to imagine you as an excellent student... For some reason I thought that you had more hooliganism and mischief.

I was a bully paramount! He was never considered a leader, but he did not go among the inconspicuous either. Always fought.

I remember well how already in Sverdlovsk we went to fight with the neighboring district - a hundred people against a hundred, on a railway embankment - and I, with a guitar at the ready, in the forefront. My signature number was the "Spanish collar" - this is when you put a guitar on someone's head.

- Didn't you feel sorry for the guitar? Did you already know how to use it for its intended purpose?

For the first time I picked up a guitar in Frunze in the eighth grade. The boys and I went to the cinema to see the film "Vertical". Both the film itself and especially the songs Vysotsky made such an impression on me that I walked out of the cinema and realized that now I don’t have a life without a guitar. I came home and told my mother: “Buy me a guitar” - my birthday was just approaching.

If the guitar was smashed in a fight, the yard chipped in for a new one - it cost about seven rubles. I earned money myself - I already won quite well at cards, I went to unload the wagons. After all, we not only had fights, but also mutual assistance, they gave the last shirt, if necessary. It is now in our country that the weak will be killed so that they do not suffer, but then we were brought up like that - if he is weak, help him become strong.

At this time in school, I did not study so well. In literature, they gave me cola and deuces, because I called the story Gorky"Mother" toilet work. The teacher was horrified, but I considered this work to be opportunistic, written on the instructions of the Party and therefore had nothing in common with literature.

In general, I graduated from high school with only triples. And - the only one in the entire issue - with a four in behavior. At the same time, I was not a member of the Komsomol, and the director told me, handing the certificate: “Sasha, go work at the factory, because you can’t go anywhere.” And I brazenly replied: “I’ll buy a plant, then I’ll go to work for it.”

That's where it came from then, in the terry Soviet era?

I bought the plant twenty years later, however, I not only didn’t work on it, but I didn’t even visit it - my friend and companion was engaged in it.

First love

- And when did Sasha Novikov, a guitarist and a hooligan, fall in love for the first time?

I fell in love for the first time in Slavgorod in Tom Polezhaev. It happened in third grade. Well, I liked the girl very much ... Then I also fell in love a lot, but most often unrequited. Apparently, I chose the wrong ones, or something. Suffered. But thanks to these feelings - they helped me a lot later. I remembered this state of mine well, I could introduce myself into it - and then interesting things were born, such as “Remember, girl ...”, under which more than one generation of lovers has grown up.

Women are not another gender, they are another planet. But here's what's interesting: women never betrayed me, but men - many times.

At the Mining Institute, I met Masha. We had classes in another building, and there I saw a girl who was going down the stairs. Something immediately clicked in my head, all thoughts were to find her. And then we met at geodetic practice and got to know each other there. And I immediately realized that it was she who should become my wife. We lived together for 35 years, and now, if I had to choose, I would marry only her. I am a monster, and to live so many years with me is a feat in its own way.

She and I got married just at the moment when I was expelled from the institute.

- For what?

For a fight. In the dormitory of our institute, I beat at the same time a Komsomol organizer, a trade union organizer and a warden. They considered themselves the hosts in the hostel and found fault with me that I had not checked in on the watch and personally reported to them that I had come to visit my friends. Since I did not react in any way to their remark, they took my jacket and threw it out onto the stairs. Well... In general, a fight broke out, I broke one of the glasses so that the whole face was covered in blood, and they called the police. They took me to the regional department, and in the morning they called me to the investigator. A pretty woman asks me to tell you how it was. I ask: “Would you like to tell me for the record or how it really happened?” She replied: "How it was." Well, I began to tell that this Komsomol riffraff drinks vodka and drives girls like everyone else. And then he writes denunciations against his own comrades - who, with whom, what time and how. She listened to me carefully and said: “I believe you, because my son studies at this institute and tells me the same thing.” Then she sighed: “But you will have to issue 15 days for hooliganism.”

But the judge also turned out to be a normal person and made a decision: a fine of 30 rubles. Collected in the hostel the required amount, paid. I was called to the dean's office. Dean Kabakov Yury Arefievich, he was a nice man, he said to me: “I would have left you, but it came to the party committee. Write as you wish." I was expelled, but the wedding took place, Masha did not renounce me, she was not afraid.

I no longer went to study, but went to work in a restaurant.

Criminal case

- Did you perform your songs in the restaurant?

No, we sang the entire Pesnyary repertoire, everything that was fashionable then. But he wrote songs. Then all these amplifiers, speakers, microphones were unsuitable for work, and there was simply no other way out, how to make them ourselves. I made them so well that I exchanged my equipment for scarce guitars, sold them, and with this money I got imported instruments. I already had my own studio, my own ensemble, we performed at the UPI Palace of Culture, and the halls were bursting with the public. They dispersed us, turned off the light. Now it's all hard to imagine, but it was.

I would probably still be engaged in the production of equipment, but in 1984 we decided to record the album "Take me, cabman ...".

The album came out on May 3, and since July they have started to follow me closely. Phones were tapped, a tail followed my car, I understood that the ring was shrinking. Yes, and my pursuers were not very hiding - it was impossible to jump out of the country at that moment. I understood that I would be arrested, and I was only afraid for my family - my son Igor then turned ten years old, and two years ago my daughter was born.

Why weren't you arrested right away?

They needed a circle of my friends, connections, relationships. Formally, I was accused of illegal entrepreneurial activity, but my criminal case begins with the document “Expertise of the songs of Alexander Novikov”. The authors of the examination - well-known cultural figures of the Urals - after analyzing my songs, concluded that I need psychiatric help, or better - in prison isolation.

I behaved quite defiantly during the investigation, because I understood: my fate had already been decided and nothing could be done. Investigators and interrogators from the first interrogations began to say that I had no way out of here.

Then a KGB colonel talked to me. He began by saying: “I like your songs, but you have no chance to get out - you will get 10 years. Therefore, my advice to you is to be worthy.” By the way, I am grateful to him for these words.

But the charge was blinded to me under a criminal article. All documents have now been destroyed, although after my release I tried to find my criminal case. The court went on for 40 days, students with reel-to-reel tape recorders walked around the building and played my songs. They gave me 10 years, as promised by the colonel.

- Tell me, how did your wife react to all this? Reproached?

Never. Although it was very difficult for her - all our property was confiscated, including irons and clothes. She came to visit me in the zone, and although I lived in eternal conflict with the administration of the colony, they did not deprive me of meetings, on the contrary, they gave me three days instead of a day. I only asked her not to bring children to the colony so that they would not see this horror.

- And what, never had a thought to leave the country?

Why should I leave the country just because bastards and degenerates live in it? My task is to rid the country of them.

Alexander, probably, they won’t understand me if I don’t ask a question about your other very scandalous project - the singer Natalia Shturm. In her memoirs, she writes about you impartially.

What she says, let it remain on her conscience. Why would I comment on fantasies when I know the truth? When we finished working with her, we agreed that we would not speak publicly about each other. I kept my word, she didn't.

You correctly said that it was precisely a project, and one should not ascribe to it the significance of a novel.

When I encountered extortion on television, I decided: they will not receive a single penny from me. My videos were not shown on TV, because it was considered: chanson. But then, smiling mockingly, they offered me to pay five or six thousand dollars, and then - please. So, for free - my songs are chanson, but for money - not chanson and good?

At some concert I met Storm. To her question: "Well, how?" - told her that the repertoire is no good. She replied: “What to do, there is no other way. Perhaps you will write? Why not? This, of course, was a grandiose adventure on my part, because I never wrote women's songs and did not act as a producer. And so he wrote "School Romance". I came up with a clip and even drew butterflies for it with my own hand. And then another two dozen songs.

"School Romance" became a super hit and is still performed at the end of the school year in all Russian-speaking schools around the world. The song was played non-stop by both radio and television for several years in a row without any cash injections from my side.

- And what is the story that you allegedly won Natalia Shturm in cards?

Just at the time when I was producing in an amateurish way, but with faith in success, the journalists of one tabloid newspaper did an interview and asked me to come up with something like that for the cover. I was leaving on tour, there was no time, I said: “Invent yourself!” And they figured it out. And so many years have passed, and at concerts there is always at least one note, but with a question about this stupidity, it will definitely come.

In general, production in our country is a thankless task.

Yes, and I have absolutely no time for this today - work in the studio, tours. And now, the Variety Theater in Yekaterinburg, which I was instructed to head, has been added to my duties. And no matter what ill-wishers squeak at me about this, I will say: this theater will be the best variety theater in Russia!
