Like all other drugs based on disulfiram, Teturam is dangerous and has a negative effect on the nervous system, kidneys and liver, and when taken with alcohol, it can cause life-threatening disorders in the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
Teturam should be sold in pharmacies strictly by prescription.
It is not prescribed for pregnant and lactating women, as well as people suffering from severe metabolic diseases, liver or kidney failure, mental illness. It is also contraindicated in glaucoma, neuritis, stomach ulcers and exacerbation of gastritis.
