Also TV channels may not be network. TV channels can be coded. In the case of encoding TV channels, you need to buy a SIM card from the provider. The answer to the question why the settings get lost will be given by the provider. To search for channels, you can use the TV guide.

TV for many is a source of fresh information about the global situation in the country and in the world. But immediately after the purchase, you will need to make some settings, since the manufacturer is not able to determine all the nuances of the connection specifically in your specific conditions.

The main questions that will arise in this case are: where does Russian turn on and how to set up channels on the TV? And you need to solve problems just in the presented sequence, because setting up any technique is much easier when the menu is in your native language.

So, remember your school knowledge of the English language (almost always, when you first turn on the menu, it is presented in it) and try to turn on Russian. Even with the "poke method" it should turn out pretty quickly.

Setting up channels on a Samsung TV

You need to enter TV mode and select the correct playback source. To do this, press the Source button or enter the corresponding menu manually.

There are several connection options available here:

  • HDMI;
  • USB etc.

After selecting the desired TV mode, go to the main menu using the remote control. By clicking on the Channel sub-item, you will see a tooltip that indicates the procedure for setting up channels.

Now select the Antenna sub-item, offering to decide on the signal source:

  • cable TV;
  • satellite TV;
  • terrestrial TV.

All that is required now is to tick the desired line in accordance with the method you have chosen to connect to the provider's broadcast. For example, these will be terrestrial television channels.

In the next setup step, you will be prompted to select a country. Remember that Samsung groups "neighbors" very broadly. So, here it is enough to indicate Eastern Europe, and not a specific area on the map.

Please note that a pin code may be required. As a rule, this is 0000, but to be sure, check this question when buying from the seller or from an official representative of the company. Do not be embarrassed if you have to call the hotline - they will gladly and quickly explain everything to you.

Now you need to deal with the channels that you would like to view:

  • digital;
  • analog;
  • both types of broadcasting simultaneously (digital and analogue).

TVs from Samsung make it possible to configure the type of broadcast in just two clicks on the remote control buttons. Remember that when connecting to satellite or cable channels, the Country line should be left with the Other option.

Modern TVs allow you to set up according to the instructions in the menu

Next, you select the type of settings that you prefer to use in this case: manual or automatic. If you are not tuning channels for the first time, then all previously saved broadcast tracks will be deleted and replaced with new ones.

You will see a bar that will slowly fill up. The screen displays a list of channels already found and the overall progress of the task in percent. The TV will do everything by itself, just give it time.

In order to properly set up your cable broadcasting, instead of Antenna, you need to select Cable TV at the beginning. The search parameters will be as follows:

  • initial frequencies - 346000 kHz;
  • end frequencies - 410000 kHz;
  • data transfer rate - 6956 kS / s (kilosamples per second);
  • modulation is 256 OAM.

At the end of the search, a list of channels that could be found will be displayed on the screen. Unfortunately, in this case, unpaid broadcast tracks will also be included in the general list, and you will not be able to view them yet. But it is quite convenient and quick to remove all unnecessary from the Channel Manager: just go to the appropriate item and select the desired action.

To sort cable channels, you can use the button with the letter C.

Setting up channels on an LG TV

It is easy to guess that in this case all actions will be similar. The maximum difference that you will have to face is the different formulation of the same technical features.

LG TVs also use DVB-C or DVB-C2 receivers to decrypt digital network content. In addition, a card can be installed in a special slot to decrypt a certain pay channel package.

Typically, channel tuning can be done manually or automatically.

So, after choosing a language, go along the path Menu - Options - Country - Signal source (for example, cable) - Search. In models with a built-in digital receiver, you can set the exact parameters for the board: the initial search frequency is 114,000 kHz, the final search frequency is 862,000 kHz, and the BCS frequency is 690,000 kHz. The data rate is 6750 kS / s, and the modulation is the same as that of Samsung - 256 OAM. All parameters shown are typical and can be easily obtained from the service provider.

Please note that LG TVs look for digital channels first, and only then for analog ones. When automatic tuning is completed, a message indicating successful completion is displayed on the screen.

By the way, buyers of TVs from brands such as Philips or Sony should not expect any particular difficulties when setting up channels. Here on the menu everything is almost the same, but in slightly different words - that's all!

Features of manual and precise settings of some parameters

Many of us do not realize the power of our habits, but it shows up, for example, in determining the order of television channels. After all, if your mother, grandmother or other close relative is used to automatically turning on a certain digital stream, then changing this is sometimes incredibly difficult (if at all possible).

But don't despair! You will need a little patience and time to reconfigure the channels already found in the right order. Go to manual settings, find the digital stream you would like to move and assign the desired number to it.

Then, using the manual channel or frequency search, find the desired track and be sure to save your changes. And after viewing the general list of channels, you can set up the missing channel, which was deleted before, in place of the resulting double.

Despite the rather confusing explanation, there is nothing complicated in these actions. You yourself will come to this conclusion when you start doing something with your own hands, being near the switched on TV. Well, when you manage to customize one channel to your liking, everything will be quite simple with the rest!

By the way, do not forget that the quality of any of the found digital streams can be corrected and even improved. To do this, select the Fine tuning sub-item in the settings. Most often, it is performed with an interval of 0.25–0.30 MHz.

Manual tuning of TV channels (video)

Don't be discouraged if you can't tune channels on your TV. With a properly connected antenna and a working cable, you should contact the specialists - you may have to carry out minor repairs.

But, as practice shows, in 90% of cases, the setup succeeds the first time, even for unprepared users. After a successful search for channels, do not stop there, experiment, study the menu - there will surely be a lot of interesting things there!

Today we will try to intelligibly and in detail answer this question about how to use wifi to set up Smart TV on an LG TV.

TVs with built-in wifi receivers that do not require any wires and cables to connect to the Internet have become relevant and very popular today. Here it is possible to connect via wifi to the router, if you have one. If the LG TV does not have a built-in system, you can buy a special branded receiver that plugs into the connector on the back of the TV (but only if your TV supports this wireless technology - there should be a line in the instructions for the TV that reads Wi- Fi Ready).

It is very important to buy a branded receiver (since the usual one is not suitable for this business), suitable for your TV model. The wifi adapter model can be found in the instructions for the TV or on the manufacturer's website; you should not buy a cheap receiver in a hardware store, as it may simply not suit you. It is better to spend more once and be satisfied with the purchased product and its functionality.

If you are just planning a purchase, then check out the offers and characteristics of the equipment on the official website of LG in advance, since only reliable information on each TV is posted there.

What will be required

  • TV (Smart TV with built-in wi-fi, or wifi receiver);
  • special proprietary receiver (if there is no built-in Wi-Fi);
  • Wi-Fi router (well, or a regular Internet cable, if you intend to suffer with wires and cables).

It is not necessary to have a router if you have access to other open networks via Wi-Fi, within the range of the LG TV receiver.

Setting

As soon as you turn on the LG TV, it itself offers you configuration via wifi and network connection, or via cable, if you have such an option. We propose to consider the case when you need to enter through the TV settings and look for connection options yourself. After all, it often happens that the TV is turned on for the first time when buying in a store (for verification) or at home out of curiosity (and of course, they immediately proceed to setting up channels, bypassing the Wi-Fi settings system).

First of all, turn on the LG TV and open the settings window (remote button "Settings"). Select the "Network" tab, "Network connection" item. A brief instruction appears on the screen, we advise you to read it before starting work and settings. Click on the "Set up connections" button.

This method will be convenient when you need to connect to the Internet through a hidden SSID, or write a static IP, or connect via WPS technology, etc. But if you do not have this information, then we do not recommend choosing manual mode. It's better to use autotuning.

Next, use the keyboard to type your password. It's also important to choose a strong password if you don't want to be "hacked" or have someone use your internet for free. Often the password consists of 8 characters, but you can enter more. It is best to use both letters and numbers, and to complicate the password, also symbols. Remember, to create a strong password, it is better not to use dates of birth, names of loved ones, animal names, etc.

After entering the correct password, press the OK button. After that, you will receive a message about connecting the TV to the Wi-Fi network. Click on the "Finish" button. You should see an icon that indicates that the LG TV is connected to the internet.

You may also encounter the problem of passwords from your Wi-Fi network. Let's say you forgot your password. We go to the menu with the listing of wireless networks, and then select "Connect using WPS-PBC"

After that, within a minute, you must press the WPS button on the router.
There are times when a prompt appears on the screen to enter IP and DNS, then click all the boxes on "Automatically".

Congratulations, you have completed the task. Your Smart TV is set to wifi. Now you can enjoy the Internet and all the features of Smart TV. You have the opportunity to watch not only standard channels, but also enjoy all the delights of the Internet through your LG TV. To do this, just press the "Smart" button on the remote control - and all channels are at your disposal.

You will be presented with a list of programs and applications already installed by default. Use the OK button to select any of them. You also have the option to select other apps to install using the "My Apps" button (on the remote). The offer “LG Store” will appear on the screen, where all the programs available for installation on your TV will be highlighted. After installing any application, it will automatically be added to the general list.

The Smart TV setup is not on the LG TV and this is complete.

At this stage, we will tell you what can help when connecting to a wireless router. There may be such a problem: Wi-Fi may have a weak connection response, the inSSider program can help here. We carry out network diagnostics using this program and switch to a free access channel. The second problem is the lack of a Wi-Fi adapter on the TV. Fortunately, specialized stores sell special externally connected adapters. It is very important to choose a USB router device that is compatible with your specific TV model.

Digital television has gained a large number of fans around the world. With it, you can watch TV shows on a variety of topics.

However, many users face certain difficulties in setting it up. To make this task easier for them, as an example, let's try to set up digital channels on an LG TV.

Setting up digital channels on LG TVs

Using the proposed instructions, you can set up digital television on LG TVs 2009 - 2012 release. For this:

  • On the remote control, enter the "Menu" by pressing the appropriate button. You will see a menu in which you should select the "Options" section.
  • In the next step, you need to set the country and language correctly. Press the "Auto Search" menu and confirm your choice with the "OK" button. You will see a menu where you need to select the “Cable” option (if there is no such item, you need to set up the TV again, choosing Germany or Finland as the country).
  • To search for digital channels, click on the "Setup" menu and start auto search. In the window that opens, specify the search parameters for digital channels: search type, symbol rate, frequency, modulation, etc. In the last paragraph of the network ID, specify "Auto". If you did everything correctly, then digital channels will be found during the search. Wait for the search to finish and click OK.

After the search is completed, all digital channels and radio stations available in your city will appear on the TV.

One of the features of LG TVs is auto-updating channels. This option must be turned off to prevent your TV from resetting the saved settings. Otherwise, all channels will have to be reconfigured.

As you probably already know, the most natural look of all is the "cinema" mode, which is spared from excessive smoothing of the image, the action of "enhancers" and excessively bright colors, as well as unnatural shades.

It is most preferable to adjust the level of brightness that is comfortable for you, relative to the level of lighting in the room. You can use auto brightness as it can protect your eyes and save power. Based on the brightness of the image, you adjust the contrast and sharpness of the outline so that both dark and bright areas are well developed, and the image is clear - without roughness and double contours.

Next, you need to adjust the intensity of the color - with a basic setting like "cinema" it can be increased a little in most cases. If you often watch sports programs, it is worth activating the function for optimizing the image of dynamic scenes ( Samsung "Motion Plus", LG "TruMotion" and etc.). Together with noise reduction, this can give a very smooth, but at the same time quite unnatural picture.

Of course it can't be named. In my opinion, a TV should not only show some kind of picture, but also introduce as little distortion as possible into the original video material. Do not forget that the main goal of any TV is to convey to you exactly the image that they wanted to show you. With the advent of HDTV, most of the standards immediately became obsolete, and the most relevant now is the REC709 standard, which is used in high definition television (HD) and Blu-ray video.

The general parameters of a correct image are as follows:

  • color temperature 6500K (D65);
  • gamma linear, recommended value 2.22, for a darkened room 2.4;
  • recommended brightness ~120 cd/m²;
  • REC709 color gamut (similar to sRGB gamut).

Today's TV manufacturers tune their products horribly because they're only interested in increasing sales. As a result, the colors are distorted: more “bright blues” and “vibrant reds”, the main thing is more than their competitors, so that the products look more attractive on store shelves.

Unfortunately, the only sure way to get the right image on the TV screen is. It consists in the fact that reference images are fed to the input of the TV, and measurements are taken from the screen. Next, the TV settings are adjusted until the image parameters are as close as possible to those required by the standard. But this setting is quite laborious, requires knowledge, and above all equipment.

Is it possible to make the image on the screen of your TV more faithful without resorting to hardware settings? Here are some tips based on my experience setting up various TVs.

We have dealt with the question Which picture mode should I choose? Yes, on the vast majority of TVs, the Cinema / Cinema mode is the most correct. Close to the standard color temperature (6500K) is the Warm mode. If there is a Warm1/Warm2 selection (for example, on Samsung TVs), individually define your preferred one. Some settings are recommended to be turned off for the best image.
For example, those that adjust the brightness / contrast in automatic mode: "dynamic contrast", "power saving mode", "light sensor", "dynamic backlight" and I advise you to turn off the "Dynamic" image mode.

The “contrast” is also important, in theory it is the ratio of the maximum brightness of the white field (white level) to the black level (the level of the minimum luminance of the panel). In the TV menu, this setting changes exactly the white level, that is, the level of maximum brightness of the image.

Tips for adjusting the "contrast" for plasma panels:

  • it is better to adjust the “contrast” parameter in the dark;
  • display an image with a white level window (100IRE) (you can find it on the Internet);
  • set the "contrast" parameter to a value close to the maximum (90-95);
  • decrease the “contrast” parameter until the picture with the white level (100IRE) stops “cutting the eyes”.

Samsung Plasma TVs have a cell light setting that has a big impact on overall image brightness. You can immediately set it to a value close to the maximum (18-20), and then follow the recommendations. LCD TVs are built differently - they have a "backlight brightness" setting (less often called "backlight contrast") that has the most to do with overall image brightness.

Tips for adjusting "contrast" for liquid crystal panels:

  • it is better to make adjustments in the dark;
  • set the "contrast" parameter close to the maximum value (90-95);
  • display an image with a white level window (100IRE);
  • set the "backlight brightness" parameter to the maximum or higher value than necessary;
  • decrease the “backlight brightness” parameter until the picture with the white level (100IRE) stops “cutting the eyes”.

I do not recommend using the maximum values of the “contrast” parameter, since some TV models have color temperature non-linearities when the maximum value is set.
An excessively bright image (the “contrast” / “backlight brightness” is responsible for the actual brightness on the TV) strains your eyesight and leads to eye fatigue, keep this in mind when you adjust these settings.

Brightness setting

The "brightness" parameter determines the black level. To install it in the correct position, you can use the special image "Pluge pattern" (can be downloaded on the Internet). In this image, the leftmost vertical stripe is equivalent to black. To set the "brightness" parameter to the correct position, first increase it until you can clearly distinguish all the bands, and then decrease the "brightness" parameter until the leftmost vertical band merges with the background. Plus, you can use special setup discs, such as AVSHD, where in the "Basic Settings" section you will find the necessary images to configure the basic settings of the TV.

1 of 3

Setting the correct sharpness value

"Sharpness / Sharpness" (sharpness) - this parameter is responsible for the clarity of the image. This setting is necessary to obtain a clear image from different viewing distances. To configure this parameter, you can use the special image "Sharpness pattern".

The technique for setting "clarity" is as follows:

  • sit at a comfortable distance to watch TV;
  • display on the TV screen "Sharpness pattern";
  • increase the “sharpness” parameter to the maximum, or to a value at which artifacts of excessive “sharpness” will be clearly visible: light halos around objects and thickening of thin lines;
  • Decrease the Sharpness setting until image artifacts, such as light halos around objects and thickening of thin lines, disappear.

Chroma/Saturation Adjustment

Set correct parameter chroma/saturation difficult without measurements. My advice is to display high-quality photos of nature with many shades of green on the TV screen (since the shade is the most difficult to perceive and the eye is most sensitive to it, and an overabundance is possible on many TVs) and adjust the "hue / saturation" parameter until the image will not look as realistic as possible. Additionally, you need to check the settings on high-quality photographs of people, skin tones should be natural.

If your TV has white balance settings and a color management system (CMS), then you can only set them correctly using . Adjusting these parameters "by eye" is useless.
