About the KP-SR2 Open Collimator Sight and about the SR2M in general…. Opinion of a special forces soldier: domestic firearms Safety precautions when handling weapons

In the 1980s, in the armies of the countries that are members of the NATO bloc, there was a revision of the methods of using small arms by army units belonging to the "second echelon". The consequence of this was the emergence of the concept of PDW - Personal Defense Weapon, translated into Russian, "individual defense weapon". The PDW concept involved the development of small-sized automatic small arms, with which it was planned to arm the crews of artillery guns and anti-aircraft missile launchers, car drivers, crews of combat vehicles, etc. That is, those military personnel for whom small arms are not the main weapon and are used only as a means of self-defense.

In the USSR, attention was also paid to the development of self-defense weapons, but special programs like PDW were never announced here. In addition, the APS, the Stechkin automatic pistol, was well suited for these purposes at that time. And in the late 70s, the AKS-74U assault rifle was adopted. It was used for the same purposes as foreign counterparts, but due to its significant weight and size characteristics, it did not pull on a real PDW.

A breakthrough in the development of such weapons in Russia came only in the second half of the 1990s. It was accompanied by the development at TsNIItochmash of a new Russian pistol cartridge 9x21 mm, which was distinguished by a high lethal and penetrating effect. At the same time, the increase in the striking abilities of the bullet was achieved not only due to an increase in the initial speed of its flight, but also due to the special design of the cartridge. The new 9x21 mm cartridge, according to the developers, was supposed to completely replace the standard 9x18 mm cartridge for the Makarov pistol (PM). Specially for the new cartridge, specialists from TsNIITochmash designed the SR-1 pistol (unofficially called Gyurza).

The success achieved when creating a pistol for a new cartridge allowed specialists from Klimovsk to start work on another promising model, which later received the designation SR-2 Veresk submachine gun. The development of the submachine gun was completed in 1999. Currently, Veresk is in service with the FSO of Russia, the FSB (Vympel detachment), as well as a number of special forces of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (for example, in the Moscow OMON).

Naturally, while working on a new automatic weapon for a completely new cartridge, the designers of the enterprise analyzed and considered several different automation schemes. The use of a powerful cartridge required extraordinary solutions from them. They chose a relatively rare automation system for this type of weapon, which provided for the removal of part of the powder gases from the bore, the barrel was locked by turning the bolt. Due to insufficient funding, work on the creation of a submachine gun dragged on, the first prototypes were ready only in mid-1998.

It should be noted that Veresk was originally developed to solve a wide range of tasks. Among them is the defeat of enemy manpower in personal protective equipment of the 2nd class at a distance of up to 200 meters, as well as unarmored vehicles at a distance of up to 100 meters. For this, it was planned to use several types of different 9x21 cartridges with different bullets: SP10 (increased armor penetration with a bullet with a special steel core); SP11 (with a low recoishing bullet having a lead core). SP12 (expansive bullet with increased stopping power); SP13 (tracer bullet). According to weapons experts, the damaging effect of the SP-11 and SP-13 cartridges was 1.5-2 times higher than that of the widely used PM cartridges. The use of an armor-piercing bullet allows you to pierce a 4-mm steel sheet at a distance of up to 70 meters with a 100% guarantee.

The Veresk submachine gun significantly expands the tactical capabilities of the Gyurza pistol. At one time, the SP-10 armor-piercing cartridge, the SP-11A ordinary cartridge, the Gyurza pistol and the Veresk submachine gun, as well as the common collimator sight for them, were presented by TsNIItochmash as a special rifle complex of increased efficiency, mainly intended for special services . The hitting accuracy, power and ammunition load of the Veresk SS are sufficient to achieve a qualitative superiority over the enemy. When using this complex, a preemptive effect is also achieved in the event of a possible fire duel. The use of collimator sights provides a fairly high aiming speed - 2-3 times faster than when using traditional "bear" sights.

The Veresk submachine gun operates on the basis of gas automatics and has a long stroke of the gas piston. In this case, the gas piston located above the barrel is rigidly connected to the bolt frame. The piston is hollow, a return spring is placed inside the piston with the front part. The barrel is locked by the cutouts located in the receiver by turning the bolt with 6 lugs. At the time of the shot, the gas piston and bolt frame move back, turning the bolt. After that, the barrel of the submachine gun is unlocked and the spent cartridge case is ejected, then the bolt sends the next cartridge into the chamber and the bore is locked. At the same time, an automation system with a hard locking of the bore in modern submachine guns is very rare. This decision was due to the use of a powerful cartridge. The cocking handle is rigidly attached to the bolt carrier on the right.

In front of the forearm of the SR-2 "Veresk" there is a holding handle. The submachine gun uses a trigger-type trigger mechanism, which allows you to fire both bursts and single shots. The safety lever is located on the receiver on the right and has two positions, which are marked with the letters "P" - fuse and "O" - fire. The lever for the translation of types of fire is located on the left side. Like the fuse, it also has 2 positions, which are marked with one and three points - single and automatic fire, respectively. The submachine gun is equipped with a folding metal butt, which folds up in the stowed position.

The Vereska buttstock has a spring-loaded recoil pad, which reduces the time it takes to transfer the weapon from the marching to the combat position for firing with an emphasis on the shoulder. The method of placing the stock in the folded state allows to reduce the transverse dimensions of the weapon. Together with the Veresk submachine gun, detachable box magazines for 20 or 30 rounds can be used. The location of cartridges in stores is staggered. Box magazines are installed in the pistol grip fire control.

The sighting device SR-2 consists of a front sight and a two-position rotary rear sight, which can be set to 100 and 200 meters. The front sight of the sight is placed in a high rack, it can be moved in a vertical and horizontal plane to bring the submachine gun to normal combat. Also on the top of the receiver is a bracket that can be used to mount a red dot sight. Its use greatly facilitates the process of aiming a weapon at a target, especially in low light and when shooting at moving targets.

A compensator is located in the muzzle of the submachine gun barrel, on top of this compensator there is an inclined cut. The use of such a compensator allows you to effectively fire, even if the shooter holds the "Heather" "like a pistol" (both with one and two hands). The small weight and size characteristics of the SR-2M, combined with the axillary suspension of the original form, provide a quick transfer of the weapon to the firing position, as well as convenient transportation. Also, "Heather" can be carried on a belt, which is attached to the front and rear swivels.

The main advantage of the SR-2 "Veresk" is a very high firepower, high accuracy of fire and a high damaging effect of a bullet at close range. The combination of these qualities made this submachine gun a very attractive model for Russian special forces as a self-defense weapon. "Veresk" meets all the requirements that apply to weapons of the PDW class in the West.

The first mass-produced SR-2 submachine guns were distinguished by poor quality, non-interchangeable magazines, general “dampness” of the design, as well as constant minor malfunctions. All this caused a large number of complaints from users of submachine guns, who at the same time noted the general prospects of the development when bringing it to the required level of reliability.

Currently, the SR-2 version is not available. TsNIITochmash is engaged in the production of versions of the SR-2M and SR-2MP. The upgraded SR-2M sample has a number of differences from the original model: instead of a hard stop on the forearm, a folding front handle appeared, which increases the accuracy of fire and controllability of the weapon (in the folded position, the handle becomes part of the forearm); instead of a muzzle brake-compensator, a muzzle-stop is used, which protects the shooter's hand from moving forward and possible burns by powder gases; the fuse box has been slightly changed. The SR-2MP version is distinguished by the installed Picatinny rails, which are mounted on the forearm and receiver. In addition, this version can be equipped with a modified buttstock and a silencer.

"KP-SR2 open collimator sight is designed to increase the efficiency of firing from a 9mm SR2M submachine gun at emerging and moving targets under time pressure and in conditions of both a bright sunny day and in the evening, and when firing at night with Quaker-type night vision goggles.

Reflector light transmission coefficient - not less than 0.7
The range of working illumination of the environment - from 10 4 to 10-2 lux
Conditional angular field of view at the removal of the shooter's eye 200mm - not less than 6 nbsp;
Maximum firing range -200m
Operating time under normal conditions - at least 5 hours
Supply voltage - 6V
Overall dimensions 142x33x60mm
Weight - no more than 270g

Aiming marks are presented in the form of figures "bird" and "dot" ....

They light up at the same time. "Point" shoots at a distance of 100m. "Bird" - at 200m.
The sight has both manual and automatic adjustment of the brightness of the aiming marks (light sensor - a window under the lens)...

When position "0" the mode switch corresponds to the night mode of the sight.
Automatic adjustment of the brightness of the reticle glow corresponds to the position of the switch in positions from "1" to "4".
Re-zeroing is required after firing 360 shots.

The sight kit includes a bag that is hung on the belt ...

It has several compartments for batteries, napkins, hoods and screwdrivers ...

The main compartment contains the scope itself and the lens hood…

To mount the sight on the weapon, there is a dovetail strap ...

The sight is powered by two lithium cells LT 14250 V5
Batteries, of course, are not very common, and the expiration date of those that are bundled with the sight expired last year.
It seems like comrades point to substitutes:

The temperature range, which even exceeds that of the domestic counterpart.
There is another substitute:

And on "Deal" - two times cheaper.

So - for the sight to work, it must have batteries in it.
Batteries are available. It remains to find the hole in which to push these batteries.
And it's not easy to find her. Because you won’t immediately notice the details even remotely resembling a battery cover ...
Like that gopher from the movie "DMB":
“... - and he (that is, the lid) - is ...”

And not even a compartment, but a battery hatch.
And what are these two defiantly protruding screws with leaf springs?

And this is the mechanism for fixing the battery hatch cover.
By the way, in the technical description there is a photo of the sight, the cover on which is fixed with a flat horizontal latch. This is probably one of the modifications supplied with the SR-2.
There is a corresponding photo in the user manual of the sight with such a sight with the serial number of the sight "033". On this sight, the stopper is located on the left side of the body ...

Opening the hatch...

We observe two spring-loaded contacts, with roughly turned working surfaces. Inserting the right battery requires skill, strength and a certain amount of luck, since the spring on the contact is quite stiff, and the free play is quite small ...

The batteries are installed. The lid is closed. The sight is attached to the weapon.
To turn on the sight, you need to move the flag to the desired position.
The flag itself moves rather tight and has a too flat lever….

In addition, the inclusion of the sight is not very disposed by the nearby protruding sight stopper ...

To operate the sight in conditions of sufficient illumination, the switch is placed in position "4" or "3".
In low light conditions, the recommended positions are "2" or "1".
For shooting with night vision goggles - position "0".
The sight has both manual adjustment of the brightness of the aiming marks, and automatic. Why such complexity is needed is not clear.
Pay attention to the latches of the reconciliation flywheels. In terms of originality, they are not inferior to the latches of the battery hatch cover.
In the course of familiarization with the sight, it turned out that on one “Heather” the butt of a dick does not develop, resting on the sight ...

I checked the position of the sight - everything is correct, it is pushed all the way ...

When examining the rest of the received pistol - machine guns, no problems were found with the folding of the butts.
The owner of the weapon decided this issue radically. Since there was no file (for refinement) in the set of the submachine gun, he simply squeezed the butt harder and, removing the chips from the sight, folded the butt ...

Then he repeated the procedure in reverse order.
But the misadventures did not end there.

When shooting, two of the three submachine guns misfired.
The reason is a weak spike.
On one copy, out of nine cartridges allotted for firing, three misfired. The repeated impalement did not help.
Cartridges from one pack. In order to remove the blame from the cartridges, they loaded another "Heather" with them.
He "digested" "mowing" cartridges without problems.

In general, the reliability of domestic weapons has recently greatly disappointed me. And given the profile of my work, I was very worried.
The first sign was PJ.
Some of the copies of the seventh year issue that we received misfired (after the second prick, a shot still followed) and stuck the cartridge case during the shooting for the bullet casing.
New pistols, straight out of the box. Cleaned and oiled. True, still at the factory. Cartridges - sports (combat shooting is not issued)
I read on the net that all the troubles with PY are from low-quality cartridges.
And representatives of the plant at field seminars lubricate the guns of users with molybdenum grease.

So, the question is - why, and what the hell is an army pistol adopted for service, by definition a mass pistol, for the normal functioning of which almost exemplary cartridges and special lubricant are needed?

And what the hell is in the design of this "modern" pistol there is no lever to reset the cock from the cocking, but there is a function that no one needs (maybe athletes?) Setting the pistol on the safety with the cocked trigger? A feature that was relevant for pistols with a single action trigger.
Personally, I have mastered the procedure for smooth descent of the trigger, as they say from a young age. And I only pull the trigger this way, not using the fuse (on the APS)
.
But in the case of the PJ, I worry a lot more than usual :)
What can we say about other employees who are not so experienced in this difficult matter :)

Some do not even send a cartridge into the chamber in advance due to difficulties with the safe release of the trigger on the PJ.
And one comrade, having decided to put the pistol with the cocked trigger on the safety, accidentally banged during the operation. Forgetting about the features of this gun.
Yes, and just sending a cartridge into the chamber in the PJ, thanks to the fine corrugation on the walls of the shutter, is still a pleasure. Especially with cold hands or if the shutter surface is oiled.

The second swallow is an icon of domestic weapons.

AK.
That is, his advertised descendant - AK74M.

All machines of our division were received in 1993.
Weapons of the 91st and mostly 92nd years of release.
To date, not a single new AK74M has been received.
A certain number of used and repaired assault rifles manufactured in the 95th, 96th, 97th years of production were received for replacement.
Even with old machine guns, the shot is relatively small.
And now, for some time now, an epidemic of double shots has begun among our machine guns.

This cup has passed me by, but fate has dealt me a blow to the very heart...
During one operation, I had a misfire.
Instantly reloading the machine gun, I pulled the trigger.
Empty.
Another recharge.
The result is the same.

It begins to dawn on me that I do not hear the click of the trigger, and the trigger somehow does not return forward. That is, almost never returns.
Returned to the bench.

He examined the selected cartridges.
There are no puncture marks.
Decided that the springs were overheated.
It seems that he shot several stores in a row, however, with a single fire.

But the machine is an old one, you never know ...
Decided to let it cool down.

The cooled machine gun fired one shot.

And he was silent. The trigger didn't move back.
To produce a graying shot, it was necessary to press the hook forward with a finger.

Since I didn’t need such a “hockey”, I “got hold of” another machine gun and continued ...

Upon returning to the base, I changed the entire trigger assembly and the machine "earned".
But the residue remains...

And faith in the most reliable machine cracked.

Let's go back to SR2M. And to his sight.

About ten years ago, if I had this scope, I would have been immensely happy.

But now it seems like the 21st century, and the sight with the characteristics of the hero of our story by no means can be called one of the best.
Here, one comrade on the Hansa, who worked at the manufacturer of the SR-2, expressed the opinion that a sight comparable in terms of characteristics must still be looked for ...

Well, let's eat...
The most important criterion for selecting a sight for mounting it on the CP2 is the width.
The width of the KP-SR2 is 33mm, which allows the sight to fit into the cutout of the folded stock.
The second criterion is the price.

By this criterion, we can assume that the KP SR2 is the best sight in the world.

The purchase price of SR2M without a collimator sight is 88,206 rubles. in 2009.
The purchase price of the SR2M with the KP-SR2 collimator sight is RUB 132,023.12. In 2012.

We will assume that the approximate price of a pistol - a machine gun - is up to one hundred thousand rubles, given the possible difference in prices of different years of purchases.
Thirty-two thousand rubles remain. It turns out that for about the same amount scope is bought.

And what sights can we choose, for thirty-two thousand, given the size limit?
We choose from the same type of "open" collimator sights.

It fits into the price limit and dimensions with a vengeance.
Width 30mm.

In terms of impact resistance - the sight is designed for shooting from pistols and rifles.
The temperature range of application is more than sufficient. From -29°C to + 40°C.
Reliability. Here one name of the manufacturer speaks for itself.
Powered by a 2032 lithium "tablet" with a long run time.

Width - from 28 to 30 mm, depending on the modification.
Temperature range of application – from -40°C to +49°C.

Storage temperature range - 40°C to + 71°C
Battery life "2032" - from two to five years.

Width - 25.4mm
Temperature range of application – from -25 °C to +55 °C

Storage temperature range - 40°C to + 70°C
The battery used is "2032"
The battery life is up to two years.

Almost all of these sights have a price below the bar of twenty thousand rubles, half the length and batteries that can be bought at almost any store.
Well, it’s not worth talking about energy consumption at all ...

If you are not confused by the dimensions of the sight and the impossibility of folding the shoulder rest, there are many Eotechs and Aimpoints. Any of them is head and shoulders above any domestic collimator.

50,000 hours from one lithium "tablet.
Temperature range -30° - +60°C, and for the T-1 model - from -45° to +71° C.
High shock-resistant characteristics, allowing this sight to be mounted on any portable weapon, from pistols to hunting rifles chambered for high-pressure cartridges…

Another brand.
The sight is mounted on a sleeve with straps, screwed onto the muzzle of the barrel.
The decision is controversial, but the width of the sight does not allow you to fold / unfold the butt.
Therefore, in this case, users solved the installation problem in this way ...

I remember that some time ago I was dissatisfied with the fact that the Ministry of Internal Affairs purchased "Heathers" without collimators.
Now, having got to know KP-SR2 better, I don’t even know how to rejoice that they weren’t bought ...

It's time for our designers to keep up with the times. It can be seen that they did not fully feel all the delights of "nanotechnology" promoted at one time by a lover of "stubs".
Well, just in case buy a license from the swedes
.

It's time to take on Veresk.
For example, in my unit, comrades who are not as confused as me, at the very first “acquaintance” with the Heather, they note an uncomfortable stock due to an excessively long stock.
In general, it is of normal i style= length ... with the usual layout of weapons.
But with the “store in the handle” layout, the distance from the handle to the recoil pad of the automation box is added to the length of the stock.
As a result, you have to shoot with the butt unfolded and using the front handle with a strongly extended left hand ...

The situation is reminiscent of the readiness for firing from an underbarrel grenade launcher with a recoil pad put on the butt and a bulletproof vest put on the shooter. That's another pleasure...

1.-- shorten the stock and use another method of locking in the folded position. Of course, for such an option, it will be necessary to develop a more compact collimator sight, at least a shorter one. Or, in the old fashioned way, shift this joy (buying a sight) onto the user's shoulders.

2 - use the movable joint of the butt with the automatic box, so that in the combat position the shoulder rest could "advance" on the automatic box. The sight will have to use another. Shorter.

3-- - use a side-folding shoulder rest. Of course, this will increase the transverse dimensions of the weapon, but the days of concealed carrying of weapons have sunk into oblivion and people now prefer to dress and arm themselves “to the fullest”.

---- - do nothing, because "other stock options have flaws."

Illustration from the magazine "Arms" ...

Why not change the layout?

The usual standard layout is not so bad. Almost all the main nodes will remain the same. It is only necessary to re-arrange the trigger, forearm and pistol grip, making it together with the magazine receiver and trigger guard as one assembly unit.
Of course, the “store in the handle” layout allows you to shoot with one hand, but it also works well from small-sized machine guns with one hand. And even more so from lighter PPs.

But with the usual layout:
- any problems with the application disappear

- the center of gravity of the weapon moves forward relative to the shooter's hand, which can partly increase the accuracy of bursts of fire

SR-2 "Veresk" is a Russian-made submachine gun. Used to hit targets at close range (up to 200 meters). Power structures are used to defeat opponents protected by personal protective equipment (body armor, etc.).

General information about the CP SR-2 "Veresk"

Users appreciate the weapon for its high firepower, efficiency, and lethal action in close combat. Thanks to this, the gun was included in the list of interests of the power structures of the Russian Federation, after which it was put into service. Western experts did not bypass the model, as it met the criteria of the PDW class. Weapons of this type are in high demand in the United States.

The first large batches of submachine guns had poor build quality, a crude design. This led to constant crashes, which caused users to speak unflatteringly about the CP-2. Despite this, domestic gunsmiths highly appreciated the prospects of the project, so they continued to work on and improve it.

In our time, the production of CP-2 has been discontinued. Modernized versions of the SR-2M and SR-2MP are leaving the assembly line, the development of which was based on the standard model. The main changes affected the following elements:

  • The hard emphasis on the forearm gave way to a folding handle. It made it possible to increase accuracy and ease of use - when folded, the handle becomes part of the forearm;
  • The compensator was replaced with a muzzle-stop. Its main function is to exclude the possibility of shifting the user's hand forward and protect against burns by the generated powder gases;
  • The design of the fuse box received a new basis.

In the modification of the SR-2MP, a Picatinny rail appeared. She was placed on the forearm and receiver. The design of the weapon allows you to use a silencer for covert destruction of opponents and a butt of a different shape.

The history of the creation of PP SR-2 "Veresk"

In the 80s of the last century, the category of PWD guns arose. The abbreviation was translated into Russian as "individual defense weapon". Weapons of this class were used to arm the technical staff of rocket and anti-aircraft installations, military drivers, etc. The main task of such a weapon is the self-defense of military personnel whose small arms are not the main one.

The Soviet Union was engaged in the design of various models for the self-defense of soldiers, but the concept of PWD was not introduced. In those years, the Stechkin automatic pistol was used to arm the technical teams of rocket launchers. In the late 70s, it was replaced by the AKS-74U, but it was not included in the PWD category due to its large size.

The era of PWD in Russia began in the mid-90s. Then they developed new ammunition 9x21 mm. They had high power and penetrating power. High performance was achieved due to an increase in the initial flight speed and a unique ammunition device. The developers planned to replace the obsolete 9x18-mm cartridges with which the Makarov pistol was fed with new charges. Engineers for new ammunition created projects for the SR-1, the unofficial name of which is Gyurza.

The new gun became successful and was in high demand. This allowed the engineers to continue working, resulting in a new variant, the SR-2 Veresk. The development of the new project ended in 1999, now it is used in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the FSO, the FSB and some other law enforcement agencies.

Specifications PP SR-2 "Veresk"

The performance specifications are as follows:

  • 9-gauge ammunition is used for firing;
  • Length with unfolded butt - 603 mm;
  • Length with folded butt - 367 millimeters;
  • The mass of the discharged pistol is 1.65 kilograms;
  • Bullet speed after firing - 415-440 m/s;
  • The magazine holds 20 or 30 charges;
  • Rate of fire - up to 900 rounds per minute;
  • The maximum distance to hit the target is 200 meters.

To create a new product, the specialists of the Central Research Institute considered several automation schemes. The choice fell on a scheme that is rare for such a class of weapon - part of the powder gases was removed through the barrel bore, the rotation of the bolt contributed to the locking of the barrel bore. The project was poorly financed, so the first prototype was assembled at the end of 1998.

The developers put the following task into the weapon - neutralizing opponents in second-class bulletproof vests at a distance of up to 200 meters, as well as defeating equipment not covered with armor at a distance of up to 100 meters. Specialists of the Central Research Institute have developed several types of 9x21 mm cartridges:

  • SP10 - the bullet was equipped with a steel core;
  • SP11 - the core was made of lead, which reduced the possibility of rebound;
  • SP12 - the device increased the stopping effect;
  • SP13 - tracer bullet.

Practical tests have shown that 11 and 13 bullet models have a striking force 1.5-2 times greater than that of the cartridges used in the Makarov pistol. The use of SR-2 armor-piercing charges allows piercing 4-millimeter steel sheets at a distance of up to 70 meters.

Automation works according to the gas outlet scheme. The stroke of the gas piston is long. The piston is located above the barrel, it is firmly connected to the bolt carrier. Inside the piston there is a cavity in which the front part of the return spring is located. The shutter has six lugs, they lock the bore for cutouts in the receiver.

After the shot, the gas piston and the bolt frame move to the rearmost position, the bolt rotates. As a result of this, the barrel channel is unlocked, the spent cartridge case is ejected. The shutter, starting to move to its original position, sends new ammunition into the chamber, after which the bore is locked. Rigid locking of the barrel channel was chosen due to the use of powerful cartridges. The cocking handle is firmly connected to the bolt carrier on its right side.

Design SR-2 Veresk

The device PP Veresk allows you to mount a collimator sight. It increases the user's tactical advantage over opponents using other weapons. The aiming speed with it increases by 2-3 times, in contrast to the mechanical aiming mechanism.

The holding handle is located in front of the forearm. The trigger mechanism is made according to the trigger type. It allows the shooter to fire singly or in bursts. A safety lever was placed on the receiver. It has two modes (fire and fuse). On the left side is the fire change lever. It has two modes: one point - single shots, three points - bursts of shots.

The butt is made of metal, it can be folded. It is equipped with a spring-loaded recoil pad, thanks to which the time for transferring the gun to the firing position is reduced to a minimum. You can shoot from the stop in the shoulder. Stores are box-shaped, there are two versions: for 20 and 30 charges. They are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The magazine is placed in the pistol grip fire control.

The standard sight is based on a front sight and a rotary rear sight, consisting of two sections (for 100 and 200 meters). The front sight is placed on a high rack, so it can be adjusted vertically and horizontally. The bracket for mounting the collimator sight is located on the top of the receiver.

The device provides a compensator, at the top of which there is an inclined cut. The compensator reduces recoil to such an extent that the SR-2 can be fired with a "pistol" hold, which maintains high accuracy and accuracy. At the top of the body in front and behind there are sling swivels on which the belt is attached.

With incomplete disassembly, the SR-2 consists of the following parts:

  • return mechanism;
  • shutter frame;
  • Mainspring with guide;
  • Drummer;
  • Gate;
  • handguard;
  • Barrel with automatic box, trigger mechanism, stock and other surface details;
  • Shop.

The design of the submachine gun requires regular cleaning after each use. This approach to care increases the working resource and the overall service life of the tool. Cleaning accessories are included with the PP. Cleaning takes a little time, it is recommended to do it within a few hours after shooting.

What can be the conclusion?

SR-2 Veresk is a successful Russian project, the gun is used by law enforcement agencies not only in our country, but also in neighboring countries. The standard package includes the following items:

  • Suspension. Used for covert carrying of software. It includes a bag for a spare clip, shoulder gimbal and holster;
  • Belt. Used for open carrying. Attaches to swivels, can be adjusted in length;
    Butter dish;
  • Ramrod. The main element for operational cleaning of weapon elements;
  • Affiliation. It consists of various elements that are used to clean and disassemble the submachine gun;
  • Bag. Used to carry spare magazines, ramrods and accessories;

I don’t know, but at least I haven’t seen a photo of the SR-3M anywhere, and the SR-1M with a square button behind the handle too.
Secondly, the cap says: please upload materials !!! I just wanted to collect information about this weapon in one heap.

Hook 12-05-2007 21:32

Now a few questions:

Can someone post materials from the magazines WEAPONS 2-2004 and 3-2004

fuss 12-05-2007 21:34

The forum had a rather large topic on "Gyurze" (Vector), perhaps. in the "Tactical weapons" branch, but on "Veresk" there is quite a bit, it seems, since there is little information from users of this device.

Hook 12-05-2007 21:38

It’s a bit scary there with information, there’s more and more talk about nothing, but I would like more information and preferably about MODERNIZED samples, for example, there’s nothing at all about SR-3M

Set A 13-05-2007 01:26

And about cartridges for them - all the same, special weapons IMHO are interesting to consider the barrel-cartridge bundle - please! (trembling with the tips of my ears)

bang-bang 13-05-2007 23:10

And what about the cartridges: 9x21 - a reinforced cartridge designed by Alexei Yuryev, I don’t remember where, but I read that the muzzle energy of the Gyurza is about 750 J, I didn’t shoot from this miracle myself, but I had to shoot from the VSK-94 and the Vintorez . SP-5 - 9mm cartridge looks very similar to 7.62x39 mod 43g. SP-6 is its armor-piercing version, I even have cartridge cases from SP-5 somewhere "as a keepsake", if I find a photo I'll post it

bang-bang 14-05-2007 01:31

Thanks for the focus, by the way, the store at the whirlwind in the picture holds 20 rounds, and not 30, as the TTX reports (Personally, I have not seen stores for 30 rounds for such weapons (VAL, screw cutter, whirlwind), only 10 and 20 )

Hook 14-05-2007 01:50

I took the information from the catalog of special weapons of the FSB, it says so, maybe they made a magazine for 30 rounds for the SR-3M (but they might not have found a photo of the magazine itself). And in general, if you notice, the SR-3M is very different from the SR-3: the handle was attached to the front like that of the SR-2M, the forend was changed, the butt is already folded to its side (such as that of AS Val) and a bunch of small ones. Now, if someone posted information about modernization - what changed, why, for what, etc.

Now a few questions:
SR-1M and SPS - are they the same thing or not?
Can someone post materials from the magazines WEAPONS 2-2004 and 3-2004

Spread an article from "Arms" 2-2004. There is no scanner yet, I did it with a digital camera.

And the type and characteristics of a 9mm armor-piercing cartridge can be found somewhere?

Hook 14-05-2007 23:06

Vic great respect to you for the magazine. I learned a lot about the SR-2(M), the history of Russian submachine guns, and finally saw a photo of the SP-12.

Question: in the photo, if I'm not mistaken, you can see that the SR-2 has a magazine attached to the front stop? (like PP-2000, in which in earlier versions a spare magazine could be used as a shoulder rest)

And a request: Vic, look at the link, you can help (regarding the defective Weapon 10-2004).

Hook 15-05-2007 12:20

There is practically no detailed information on SP-5 and SP-6.

For the SP-6 cartridge, Yu. Frolov developed a bullet of a different design. Its hardened steel core, longer than that of SP-5, fills the entire cavity of the bimetallic shell. The latter does not completely cover the head part of the core; its black top protrudes from the shell. This bullet has a higher penetrating and lethal effect. The SP-6 cartridge is an "assault" cartridge and is designed to hit targets hiding in cars or protected by bulletproof vests.

Cartridge length, mm - 56
Bullet length, mm - 41
Cartridge weight, g - 23
Bullet weight, g - 16
Initial speed, ms - 290
Sleeve - steel
The radius of the circle containing 50% of hits at a distance of 100 m - 3.5 cm

Lord
Something I don’t like about everything, the Americans and other foreign shushora are rushing to our forum just some kind of disaster. We need to make separate forum branches where no one can steal our material without an entrance, we post the material for free for each other and the children steal cattle, they translate and even laugh that we give them secrets, something needs to be done. That's why I don't post my military material on this forum.

The store is not attached to the stop, just when photographing it was placed under the PP in order to align the muzzle sections along the same plane.

sergant 15-05-2007 12:59

There is such a photo for SR-2, sorry I didn’t find it in a better resolution.

We posted an article on the forum "Vintorez and Val" also a historical series of well "WEAPONS" there, among other things, there is a history of the creation of cartridges SP-5, SP-6, PAB-9. I downloaded it for myself, but I don’t remember where now. Looks like I've looked all over the forum and can't find it. If people have an interest and the moderator does not mind, I can post it.

In addition, there are other materials on the topic:

So I rummaged through the forum and found this special issue:

The Veresk submachine gun differs from the so-called peers in its firing range. The weapon can hit a target at a distance of up to 200 meters. In addition to the high range, the submachine gun has other powerful parameters. For example, it easily breaks through the individual armor protection of the enemy.

The first weapons development was carried out at the end of the last century, and the modernized model, which is used by the special services, was presented only in 1999.

The compact submachine gun is ideal for close combat and defense. PP is convenient in shooting with a butt, from the hands, offhand. During combat, a high density of fire is provided in a short period of time.

The pistol cartridge, which has a small amount of gas and a low muzzle velocity, facilitates the use of silencers.

Features of a specially designed pistol

Conducting experiments on new weapons began in 1993. Since that time, the development of a new development work under a special code has also begun. The SR-2 "Veresk" submachine gun is adapted as SR stands for "special development". The final version of "Heather" was adopted in 2000.

The main features of the software SR-2 are:

  • A rare automation system and a barrel bore locking unit.
  • Removal of powder gases into the gas chamber, which is located above the barrel.
  • The bolt carrier is rigidly connected to the gas piston rod.
  • The return spring is located in the channel of the bolt carrier.
  • The shutter is equipped with six lugs.

The reload handle is located on the right side. Due to this, the size of the weapon is significantly reduced. The compensator is attached to the muzzle. The automation box is made by cold stamping from steel sheet.

The design and operation of the submachine gun

The firing mechanism of the Russian submachine gun "Veresk" is a striker type. The fuse box is on the right. When turned on in the extreme position, the fuse blocks the trigger, and the flag blocks the groove for the passage of the reload handle. Another flag translator is placed on the left. He sets a single or regular fire. Switching the flag is done with the thumb.

The supply of cartridges comes from a direct box magazine. A feature of the store is the staggered arrangement of cartridges. When the ammunition is used up, the magazine is discarded after pressing its latch. The shooting process is equally convenient for both hands.

A front sight with a fuse is installed near the muzzle of the barrel. The rear sight is designed for shooting at a distance of up to 200 meters. The automation cover is adapted for the installation of an optical or collimator sight.

The butt is made by stamping metal. It folds up and down.

The SR-2M "Veresk" submachine gun is a modernized version of the above weapons. The fuse box has been changed in it. In the SR-2M, the muzzle device was replaced, and a folding front handle appeared on the forearm.

Tactical and technical characteristics of software SR-2M

  • Mass of weapons without equipment: 1650
  • The length of the PP with a folded butt: 603 mm.
  • Folded: 350 mm.
  • Barrel length: 174 mm.
  • Number of grooves: 6.
  • Sight range: up to 200 m.
  • Magazine capacity: 20/30 rounds.

It is worth noting that a collimator sight (approximately 300 grams) and an equipped magazine are added to the weight.

The submachine gun is adapted for and 7BTZ. The initial speed of the bullet depends precisely on the type of cartridge and is: in the first case - 440 m / s, in the second - 415 m / s, and in the third - 430 m / s. The SP11 cartridge is equipped with a low-ricochet bullet, and the 7BTZ cartridge is equipped with an armor-piercing tracer.

The characteristics of the Veresk submachine gun allow firing at a distance of 100-200 meters. The front sight with a fuse is located on the extreme front of the barrel. A collimator sight with a 6-o field of view is attached to the lid of the box. Such sights are the main ones in combat at short range.

Design features of the submachine gun

The butt of the weapon is made by cold stamping of steel. The control handle and handguard are made of impact-resistant plastic. The handle is made integral with the trigger guard. A front stop is installed in front of it. The forearm covers the barrel.

For the convenience of firing from a position with outstretched arms, a front bend is designed on the trigger guard (as for firing with a two-handed grip).

In the upgraded version, the hard stop on the handguard is replaced by a folding front handle. This feature improves the controllability of weapons and accuracy of fire. The fuse box has also been upgraded. In the new version, the muzzle device is presented in the form of a muzzle-stop. This feature allows you to protect the shooter's hand from burns by powder gases and forward displacement.

The Veresk submachine gun is worn on a belt and discreetly, using a hanger that can accommodate both a weapon and a spare magazine.

Weapon automation

The SR-2 "Veresk" software uses gas-operated automatics with barrel locking at the time of the shot.

The gas piston in the cylinder is located above the barrel. When fired by a piston, the bolt frame is actuated (in which the bolt with 6 lugs is located). On the right side of the bolt carrier, the cocking handle is rigidly fixed.

It is possible to conduct automatic and single fire. The right fuse lever has 2 modes: O - fire, P - fuse. The left one performs the functions of a translator of fire modes: one dot corresponds to a single shot, three dots - to automatic fire.

Ammunition is fed from box magazines. The design of the Veresk submachine gun is equipped with standard open sights.

PP design with incomplete disassembly

The device consists of:

  • From the return mechanism.
  • shutter frame.
  • Mainspring with guide.
  • Drummer.
  • Shutter.
  • forearm.
  • Barrel with automatic.
  • Trigger mechanism.
  • Butt.
  • other surface details.
  • Shop.

The standard equipment consists of the following items:

  • Suspension (bag for a spare clip + shoulder suspension + holster). It is used for concealed carrying.
  • belt. Designed for open carry. Adjustable in length.
  • Ramrod (used when cleaning weapon elements).
  • Bags.
  • Cases.
  • Other accessories for cleaning and disassembly.

The Veresk submachine gun needs regular cleaning after each use. Timely care significantly increases the resource reserve and service life. Cleaning is desirable to be done immediately after shooting.

Improved software of the SR-2 series

The new automation system and an unusual buttstock are matched to the powerful ammunition for which the weapon is designed. Automation mechanisms of PP are reliable in adverse conditions (for example, with increased dustiness, humidity). The operating temperature range is from -50 to +50 degrees. A silencer can also be installed on the PP.

When developing the guidance system, it was planned to use only mechanical and flip diopter sights. Somewhat later, a collimator sight was added to the layout of the Veresk SP-2MP submachine gun, which is the main one. The mechanical one was somewhat modified - it only had one rear sight. The distance to the target is taken into account by offsetting the aiming point in height. This method is convenient for experienced shooters.

Ammunition for "Heather"

The submachine gun is used in view of this, the weapon is adapted for various types of supplies of caliber 9 × 21 mm:

  • SP10 - with a steel bullet of increased armor penetration. This type of cartridge strikes enemy manpower at a distance of up to 200 meters, and is also capable of harming individual body armor.
  • SP11 - ammunition created using a lead core.
  • SP12 - cartridge with an expansive bullet. It provides increased stopping power.
  • SP13 - supplies with a tracer bullet.

According to experts, the damaging effect of the cartridges of the Veresk submachine gun is up to three times higher than that of the 9 × 18 mm PM supplies, and 2 times higher than that of the 9 × 19 mm.

Advantages and disadvantages of weapons

Among the advantages are:

  • High fire power.
  • Accuracy of shooting.
  • High damaging effect at close range.
  • Light weight.
  • Convenient design.
  • Roomy store.
  • Convenient layout.
  • Good aiming system.
  • Ability to use different cartridges.

The disadvantages are:

  • Poor quality of some samples.
  • Some parts are not interchangeable.
  • Frequent malfunctions.

The advantages and disadvantages of the Veresk submachine gun make it possible to determine the necessary amount of work for further improvement of the weapon.

Weapon Safety

  1. Upon receipt, be sure to check the charging of the firearm.
  2. It is forbidden to direct the muzzle towards people and animals.
  3. Any weapon should be considered loaded until checked.
  4. When the bolt is retracted, the barrel is directed directly at the target or in a safe direction. In this case, the possibility of ricochet should be taken into account.
  5. Outside the fire mode, it is forbidden to put a finger on the trigger.
  6. Before operation, check the barrel for foreign objects.
  7. When firing in a position with outstretched arms, the grip must be such that the shutter does not cause injury to the hand.
  8. An obligatory item is the briefing before classes.
  9. In the fire zone, as well as during transportation, actions begin and stop at the command of the leader.

Safety in the fire zone

When shooting, it is prohibited:

  1. To allow persons who have not passed the safety test and are unsuitable for health reasons to take up arms.
  2. Perform operations with weapons without the permission of the commander (load, fire, etc.).
  3. Leave personal device unattended, as well as pass it on to third parties.
  4. Use the wrong ammunition.
  5. Use personal devices (for example, a telephone) in the fire sector.
  6. Adjust equipment with weapons in hand.
  7. Allow persons in a state of alcoholic or drug intoxication, strangers.
  8. Disassemble ammunition and troubleshoot it.

A powerful and effective modern weapon is the Veresk submachine gun. Photos allow you to evaluate its compactness and correct layout. It should be remembered that with any use of firearms, safety precautions should be followed. Also, you can not ignore the rules of care, transportation and storage.
