Evolution Specifications 10. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX sedan. Everything's under control

On the Evo MR sticker, I saw the remark “4G63 finishes!”, which could not be ignored. Moreover, the technical staff scurrying around the site, from where I was supposed to start my test ride, was dressed in T-shirts, on the chest of which “4G63” was written in large letters. What could all this mean?

Meanwhile, without hesitation, I immediately asked the “t-shirt” a question that interested me. I asked this: “They say that the new generation Evo car, in the name of which, as I understand it, there will be a Roman numeral X, will be “stuffed” with a huge number of new products. In this case, what's the point of rushing and taking, though partially modernized, but still a little outdated Evo IX? Do you know what the answer was? “Well, you can wait for the new model if you don’t like the 4G63 engine brought to perfection, and you are ready to change it to something new, and therefore, at first “raw”! And besides, a huge number of time-tested options are offered for the old car, and when the same will become available to the new car! In addition, there is another significant circumstance that is not customary to talk about. Namely, spare parts, more precisely, the ease of finding them! I bought a car, then I needed to replace something, but this is not yet on sale, since the production of spare parts has not yet been established in the required volume. And as for the car Evo IX MR, it is, in fact, the same model as the old Evo IX with all the ensuing consequences!”. Yes, indeed, just ask the seller, he will say such a thing that it will not seem enough! But the main thing that I caught and what I attached importance to was the mention of the 4G63 model engine.

So, we will assume that the old Evo IX car was brought to perfection, and in order to emphasize this circumstance, the new model of the car was “marked” with the abbreviation MR. Where it came from, every connoisseur of Mitsubishi brand cars knows - from a combination of the initial letters of the words Mitsubishi Racing (“Race variant from Mitsubishi”). If anyone remembers, once Mitsubishi produced a Galant car, the main name of which was joined by the letters GTO - MR. What kind of car it was, everyone should also remember well. So, once upon a time inside the company it was accepted and for some time the rule was in effect, according to which, if one or another model was brought to the highest degree of perfection (“top model”), it deserved the additional name MR. The case with the model mentioned above, it must be said, was not the only one. And now the time has come, and the Evo car, after a small upgrade, suddenly took it and turned into an Evo VIII MR! The same thing happened with the Evo IX. Moreover, as before, the renaming affected not only the sedan, but also the station wagon, and this is doubly interesting!

Oh, and one more thing: the division of the Evo IX model into categories has changed somewhat. Now the sedan can be of the GSR or RS category. As for the station wagon, it is available in GT-A and GT trim levels. As you can see, the GT sedan is excluded from the list of produced cars.

All the improvements that distinguish the new Evo MR series car can be divided into three large groups. Of course, it is impossible not to pay attention to some changes in the design of the machine. Let this be the "improvements" of the first group. However, if we already agreed that MR means "Mitsubishi Racing", then, in all likelihood, design is not the main indicator. The main thing is an improved engine and chassis design. So, in order to fully appreciate these advantages myself, I decided to go to Tochigi Prefecture, where there is a test ring track. So I ended up behind the wheel of an improved Evo IX.

The history of the tenth generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution sports sedan begins in 2005, when the Japanese company introduced the Concept-X concept model at the Tokyo Motor Show. In 2007, at the international auto show in Detroit, a pre-production version of the Prototype-X appeared before the public, and the official world premiere of the model took place in September of the same year in Frankfurt.

Even the usual "Lancer 10" looks "evil", what then to say about the "Evolution"? The car is very charismatic, and with all its appearance "Evo" exudes aggression. The front of the Japanese sports sedan looks "evil" due to the embossed front bumper with a pronounced "skirt", the frowning "look" of the head optics (external lenses - bi-xenon, internal reflectors - turning light) and a hood with air vents.

The silhouette of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in the latest body is swift and dynamic, and it is emphasized by “inflated” wheel arches, accommodating 18-inch “rollers” with low-profile tires, “gills” on the front fenders (they do not play a decorative role at all), a roof falling to the stern and a big spoiler. The external aggression of the sedan can also be seen in the rear, which is only worth the “predatory” lights (sorry, not LED ones) and a developed wing. But the diffuser with closely spaced exhaust pipes is the most controversial design decision.

In general, each of the design elements not only makes an aesthetic contribution, but also performs a technical load: the body kit and spoiler improve aerodynamics and press the car to the road, and the ventilation holes remove hot air from the engine compartment and help cool the brake discs.

The "tenth" Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is a C-class sports sedan that has the appropriate body dimensions. The machine is 4505 mm long, 1480 mm high and 1810 mm wide. The width of the front and rear track is 1545 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2650 mm. From the roadway to the bottom, the Evo X has 140mm of ground clearance. The three-volume in running order weighs 1560-1590 kg, depending on the type of gearbox.

If outwardly the “Japanese” is immediately perceived as a fit athlete, then the interior does not look like anything special. The dashboard contains two deep "wells" that carry the most necessary information (speed and engine speed), everything else is displayed on the display between them. The center console looks simple, but you can’t find fault with ergonomics - it has a “music” control unit, “emergency” buttons, on / off passenger airbags and three uncomplicated “twists” of the climate system.

What surprises the Lancer Evolution X is the finishing materials - plastic is hard and resonant almost everywhere, although it looks quite neat. But the seats are upholstered in high-quality Alcantara and leather, the steering wheel and gearshift lever are also dressed in the latter.

The most sporty elements in the interior of the Japanese sedan are a multi-steering wheel with paddle shifters and Recaro seats with pronounced lateral support. The seats themselves are quite comfortable and grippy even in the steepest turns, but they didn’t do without a fly in the ointment - they do not have height adjustment, and the steering wheel does not move longitudinally. As a result, it is difficult to find the most comfortable position.

The strength of the "Evolution" in the tenth body is practicality. The rear sofa is designed for three passengers who will sit there without any problems (although the high transmission tunnel will cause inconvenience to the legs of the average rider). There is enough space in the knees, there is a margin in width, and the roof does not put pressure on the heads.

The luggage compartment is small in volume - 243 liters, but a full-size spare wheel is hidden under its raised floor. The shape of the "hold" is convenient, the opening is wide, and the wheel arches and lid hinges do not take up space. But in the cargo compartment there was a place for a subwoofer, a washer fluid reservoir and a battery (they were placed at the back for better weight distribution).

Specifications. The 10th generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit (four valves per cylinder). The engine is equipped with a turbocharger and MIVEC gas distribution system. The cylinder block, timing chain cover, cylinder head and other parts are made from lightweight aluminum to ensure minimum weight and maximum efficiency. The maximum output of the turbo engine reaches 295 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 366 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm.
In tandem with the engine, only a 6-band “robot” TC-SST with two clutch discs is offered, before a 5-speed “mechanics” was also available.
Well, the main feature of all Evo in the latest body is the all-wheel drive system with advanced electronics (the central differential is equipped with a multi-plate clutch, the “smart” rear differential is able to twist the required wheel for better cornering). In normal mode, traction is distributed between the axles in a ratio of 50:50, but depending on the situation, the center differential can be electronically blocked.
This combination gives the Japanese sports sedan good dynamics and speed. Lancer Evolution X with automatic transmission takes 6.3 seconds to conquer the first hundred, with manual transmission - 0.9 seconds less.
The maximum speed in both cases is set at around 242 km / h.
"Evolution" in the tenth body for every 100 km in mixed mode "eats" an average of 10.7-12.5 liters of gasoline, and fuel consumption in the city reaches 13.8-14.7 liters, depending on the gearbox used (in favor of "mechanics").

The "charged" sedan is built on the basis of the usual Mitsubishi Lancer X, but unlike it, it has a roof, front fenders, hood and deformable crossbars under the aluminum bumper. The power structure of the body is complemented by a welded cross member behind the rear seat and struts.
The layout of the "Evolution" has remained virtually unchanged over the years: independent suspension in a circle with MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link scheme in the rear.
Brembo brakes (18-inch front, 17-inch rear) with ventilation are installed on all wheels. The rack and pinion steering is equipped with a hydraulic booster.

Options and prices. In the Russian market, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 is offered only in the maximum version of Ultimate SST, for which they ask for 2,499,000 rubles (it should be noted that deliveries of sedans to our country ended in the summer of 2014, and dealers sell the remaining copies).
The car is “saturated” very richly - airbags (front and sides), climate control, ABS, ESP, bi-xenon headlight optics, PTF, full power accessories, leather interior, standard premium audio system (USB connector, Bluetooth ) and 18-inch wheels.

I would also like to note that since entering the market in 2007, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in the tenth body has received several special versions:

  • In 2008, the most sophisticated sports sedan called the GSR Premium Edition was introduced, which differs from the standard version only in some exterior elements, better finishing materials and expensive equipment.
  • In 2009, the Evo X was prepared specifically for the UK market with the code name FQ-330 SST, which received a 2.0-liter turbo engine boosted to 329 horsepower (torque - 437 Nm). For him, a sports “robot” with six gears and an all-wheel drive transmission were offered, thanks to which the acceleration to 100 km / h decreased to 4.4 seconds, and the peak speed increased to 250 km / h.
  • In the same year, the British were offered an even more powerful version - the FQ400, under the hood of which they placed an engine boosted to 400 "horses" (525 Nm of torque). Such a sports sedan flaunts new front and rear bumpers (with one exhaust pipe), door sills and a spoiler.
  • In general, the British are lucky people! In March 2014, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Mitsubishi's presence in Europe, a limited edition of the "tenth" Lancer Evolution was prepared exclusively for residents of "Foggy Albion". A distinctive feature of such a car is a 2.0-liter turbo unit that produces 440 horsepower and 559 Nm of peak thrust. External changes to the FQ-440 MR are BBS wheels and a lowered suspension (front - by 35 mm, rear - by 30 mm).
  • The farewell version of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X was named Final Concept, and it belongs to the entire family of the iconic Japanese sedan. The car can be recognized by the forged wheels with a diameter of 19 inches and a black body color. But the most interesting thing is hidden under the hood - a "pumped" 2.0-liter engine with a modified intake / exhaust system, an HKS turbocharger and new software. This modernization made it possible to remove 480 “horses” from the engine instead of the stock 295 forces. Alas, the world will not see the Evolution in this form anymore, and it will be replaced by a compact sports crossover.

If the conversation turns to a fast, manageable, all-wheel drive turbocharged car, then the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X immediately comes to mind. Designed exclusively for racing, it has become the hallmark of the Japanese automaker. This car can often be seen in various competitions, from circuit racing and drag racing to rally and.

In 2014, there was a series of statements from Mitsubishi representatives that the car would be the last, but it soon became known that the XI would still be given the green light and it would receive a diesel-electric power plant.

At the beginning of 2015, a series of farewell versions of the 10th generation machines were released, the most powerful of which produces an incredible 480 hp.

Design

Visually, the model is practically no different from its younger counterpart. There are of course a few differences, but they are barely noticeable. The front part has a raised hood, which is reduced to a huge grille. The hood climbs a little on the headlights making the appearance more aggressive. The bumper also has small round fog lights.

On the side, the sedan stands out with clear lines at the top and bottom, and decorative gills in front of the door also look chic. Everything else is simple. When you look from behind, a huge spoiler immediately catches your eye. The optics, underlined by stamping on the trunk lid, also look beautiful. The massive bumper received a huge diffuser and 2 pipes of the exhaust system.

Dimensions sedan Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10:

  • length - 4505 mm;
  • width - 1810 mm;
  • height - 1480 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2650 mm;
  • ground clearance - 140 mm.

Specifications

The model is equipped with only one 2-liter engine, simple in design. The engine is 4-cylinder and has a turbocharger, its power is 295 horsepower. As a result, he accelerates the car to the first hundred in 6.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 242 km / h. All torque equal to 366 H * m is transmitted to all wheels.

The unit consumes 14 liters of 98th gasoline in the city with a quiet ride and 10 on the highway. It works in tandem with a 6-speed robotic gearbox, and a 5-speed manual was also available earlier, which showed higher performance in dynamics and ate less fuel.

There are also several improved versions of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X:

  1. The FQ-330 SST is the version released in 2009 that received engine upgrades. He received 329 horsepower and accelerated the car to hundreds in 4.4 seconds.
  2. The GSR Premium Edition is a model that received only design and trim changes, the technical part was not touched. She came out in 2008.
  3. FQ400 is the same as the first model, but with 400 forces. There have also been some changes to the look.
  4. Final Concept is the latest modification that was released with changes in appearance. The 19th wheels were installed and it was painted only in black. The stock motor was upgraded to 480 horsepower by installing a different exhaust system, turbine and improved settings.

Salon

The interior is based on the design of the base model, but there are always characteristic features such as the Momo sports steering wheel and seats with developed lateral support. In the first models, little attention was paid to the interior of the car, because. the main ones were dynamic characteristics.

Since the early models have been discontinued, the interior should be considered. Salon traditionally copies the style of the base model. However, the incredibly comfortable Recaro seats securely fix the driver and front passenger in themselves. The main drawback is the lack of seat height adjustment, as well as the steering column in depth. Regardless, it doesn't take long for a driver of average height to find a comfortable fit.

In the center of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 dashboard is a large display that displays a lot of different information, whether it's the operating modes of the all-wheel drive system or real-time display of axle distribution.

The steering wheel is wide and pleasant to the touch, but the size of the spokes does not give it sportiness. Visibility is not bad, but compared to its predecessor, it is noticeably worse, as if the lightness inherent in the IX is not enough.

The main thing is that the new car has become more adapted to everyday driving. Now it has a multimedia audio system with a subwoofer, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X heated seats in front, 9 airbags and built-in Bluetooth.

There is a little more space in the back, but like a regular Lancer, not so much. The trunk is quite small, as the battery and washer reservoir were moved into it due to improved weight distribution. In addition, instead of a dokatka, there is a full-size 18-inch spare wheel in the niche.

Chassis

A modern sedan requires the driver only to choose a trajectory, and he does the rest himself. Smart electronics monitor each wheel in real time and, based on the data received, the active differential can load a certain wheel, or the stabilization system can slow down another to achieve the most accurate and safe cornering.

The suspension no longer feels as stiff as its predecessor. This slightly reduces the feeling of that extreme that fans of the model fell in love with in 7-9 generations. However, we can say for sure that the new model is the most suitable for normal everyday use.

Price

The model was sold only in one configuration for 2 499 000 rubles, and production ceased in 2016. In the secondary market, prices vary greatly, some even reach the price of a new sedan. No additional options are offered, so you have to be content with what you have. Namely:

  • leather interior;
  • heated seats;
  • audio system;
  • climate control;
  • light and rain sensor;
  • xenon optics with adaptive lighting system.

This car is a legend. The model is the owner of several world rally champion titles, thanks to which it can provide its owner with all the fullness of sensations that a real racing car would have. Having gone a long way of evolution, the engineers managed to leave the best genes in the DNA of this car, but the main thing remained unchanged - a powerful two-liter turbo engine, four-wheel drive, a sporty interior and, as a result, fantastic speed and handling. It is not surprising, because with each model, the specialists from the company had to make every effort to be at least one step ahead of the competition. And they did it regularly. One can only guess whether this tradition will continue in the new model, but we can say for sure that the car will always be on top, because this principle is embedded in its name - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X!

Video

Mitsubishi Lancer 9 Evolution is a sports car, a successful version of the Lancer, which came out in sedan and station wagon bodies on the CT 9A and CT 9W platforms. The exterior design differs from the standard model, and the power plant is renowned for its trouble-free operation even in difficult conditions. The choice of just such a car is due to the desire to have a powerful, fast and reliable car. The price of a used Evolution 9 today varies widely. It can cost 500 thousand rubles or 1 million 700 thousand rubles for the 2008 version. It all depends on the condition of the car, modification, configuration.

The ninth generation sedan Evo was released in 2005. The car was simultaneously presented in Japan, Europe and the USA. The power plant was assembled using advanced MIVEC technology and received a modified turbine. As a result of innovative amendments, engine power increased to 291 horses.

Complete set

The 9th generation Evo was sold from the very beginning in 4 basic trim levels, but in the future their list was supplemented or subtracted depending on the market:

  • running standard or basic version called Grand Sport Rally, briefly - GSR;
  • simply Rally Sport or RS;
  • Special Edition or SE;
  • Mitsubishi Racing or mr.

Each version has its own peculiarities. All of them showed different test results for acceleration, maximum speed, handling. The RS version did not have additional features, and the SE and MR were equipped not only with an advanced acoustic system, but also with other modern devices at that time. For example, a rear spoiler that makes the car look more like a racing car.

Despite a lot of innovations and additions, the 9th generation turned out to be lighter than its predecessor by as much as 60 kg. The lightest package was the RS, designed for sports rallies. But it accelerated no faster than the top SE and MR , and even basic GSR.

Experts attributed this to the lack of a rear spoiler on the RS. Therefore, this modification was often subjected to tuning, installing a wing on its own. This not only increased speed performance, but also improved the aesthetic component.

The RS equipment was not impressive in terms of interior decoration either. There is a minimum of comfort, everything is decorated at the Spartan level. On the one hand, this scared off buyers, but on the other hand, it made it possible to keep the price low and ensure a high level of sales of the car to racing teams.

The MR version is more similar to the previous Evo 8 than the rest. The same Bilstein dampers, 6-speed gearbox, air intake on the aluminum roof, original fog lights, HID xenon, alloy wheels are used. As well as Recaro sports seats, Brembo brakes and Momo steering wheel.

In order to somehow reduce the rise in prices for the production of the MR configuration “charged” in every sense, the manufacturer makes HID xenon available only as an option, although on the Evo 8 cars were equipped with such headlights as standard, however, in 3 versions.

Mitsu Motors initially specified that 3 versions would be available for the European and Asian markets. All of them were equipped with the same internal combustion engine for 291 hp, but with a different KM indicator. However, Evo 9 arrived in Europe with a 10 hp engine. less power.

  1. The RS version (Rally Sport) came with a 5-speed gearbox, had an aluminum roof in the base, a set of additional options and a simple saloon interior. There is a control option - "Left hand drive".
  2. The GT version, which used a 5-speed gearbox, and took all the good points of the standard and rally.
  3. The GSR version is equipped for the European and Asian market with a 6-speed gearbox. Bilstein shock absorbers are used, there is an aluminum roof, a smart and advanced SAYC system and much more.

As for the British Isles, the 9th generation Evo was first delivered here in 3 versions: the FQ model with a 300-horsepower internal combustion engine, the FQ with 320 horses and the FQ with 340 hp.

All models worked with a six-speed gearbox and Bilstein 1-tube shock absorbers. They could be filled with super-unleaded gasoline.

In the future, two more models come to England:

  • FQ with 360 hp ICE;
  • MR FQ with 360hp turbocharged engine, titanium aluminum fins, powerful glass protection, beautiful interior, etc.

4 models equipped with a 286-horsepower installation went to the American market:

  • Standard version working with 5-speed gearbox (basic US version);
  • Rally version of the RS with a redesigned 5-speed gearbox, aluminum roof, different gauges (the interior, as always, is decorated at a minimalist level);
  • Special Edition, equipped with a very light, almost completely aluminum body, HID xenon, red seats and much more;
  • MR with 6-speed gearbox, 7-spoke forged aluminum wheels, vortex generators, etc.

Although the power of the engines of all American models is identical, they could differ in terms of performance.

Another well-known market where the car sold well was the Philippine one. Here Mitsubishi Lancer 9 Evolution was implemented until 2008. The bodies were offered in 2 versions. The base versions were slightly better equipped than the Evo 9 for other markets. Expensive modifications were equipped at the same level.

Russian market

In our country, the Evo 9 was offered with the same 280-horsepower 2.0-liter engine. The car easily accelerated from standstill to a hundred in 5.7 seconds, and opened a maximum speed of up to 250 km / h.

In the Russian version, sports leather seats with Alcantara inserts, a Momo steering wheel, pedals with aluminum lining, etc. were provided. The main thing is that, compared to its predecessors, the Evo has become much more comfortable.

station wagon

The Evo 9 Wagon rolled off the production line for the first time in 2005. The station wagon is built on the same platform as the sedan, but the body is made more rigid and durable. We can say that the manufacturer, as it were, strengthened the body, increasing the quality of life due to the modernization of the racks and the general strengthening of the structure.

At the same time, the station wagon's body is light because it has a lot of aluminum parts.

The advantages of the body gave the station wagon enviable driving performance and reliable handling.

The interior design, however, as well as the exterior, is made exactly like a copy of the sedan. At the rear, you can transform the seats and get a huge luggage space. However, for unknown reasons, the cargo compartment of the Evo Wagon turned out to be smaller than that of the Lancer Cedia Wagon.

Among the advantages of a station wagon compared to a sedan, one can single out the level of SHVI. It was carried out clearly at the best level, which is explained by the use of high-quality acoustic materials.

The manufacturer also provided a version of the Evolution 9 with an electric motor. The power plant in the car was connected to each of the 4 wheels. The motor itself is built on a toroidal design, implying an off-stator arrangement of the rotor. Thanks to this scheme, the automobile electric motor is greatly facilitated.

Main modernization course

As you know, all Lancer Evo models were released with the aim of a certain modernization. So, the 9th generation Evo has a major improvement course associated with the advent of the 2-liter 4G63 power plant, assembled using the unique advanced MIVEC technology. This engine has a more efficient turbine and the best intercooler in all plans.

One of the most charismatic autocars on the planet, Evo 8, provides the widest possibilities in terms of exterior design. Already too aggressive, it can be turned into a full-fledged conqueror of roads.

The new engine made it possible to increase the car's power to 291 hp. It was said above that this Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 power plant could develop even more power. The British, in particular, could choose a version with a 340-horsepower engine. True, a modification was also present on the European market with a 280-horsepower unit of the same type.

Price

Prices in the secondary market today are different. Most of the models are even tuned by the owners. As a rule, the approximate cost of cars starts from 500-600 thousand rubles. You can find samples with low mileage and from 1.3 million rubles, and even higher if they are equipped with a forced internal combustion engine, a modernized chassis and an alternative body kit.

Recall that the 9th generation Evo was replaced on the assembly line by Lancer Evolution 10. Read an interesting article about how it is carried out, find out a lot of interesting things. Mitsubishi Lancer 10 is a very beautiful and powerful car that allows extensive modernization.

A very attractive model is the Mitsubishi Lancer 10: modern design, stylish optics, the radiator grille is tilted back, a blunt rear end. However, a used car must be chosen very carefully.

Exterior

LCP Lancer, alas, does not differ in particular strength (an illness of all inexpensive Japanese). Therefore, if the car is handled carelessly, then in three months the car will look like a three-year-old. The point is in our climate, the lack of professional skills among car washers, inaccurate operation. The owners often clean the body in winter with coarse brushes and so they only scratch it. The flaws are especially noticeable on dark-colored cars. Therefore, the best paintwork is white.

Before buying, I advise you to check the lower part of the door arches, they can be erased, since there is no protection on them. Also inspect the joints between the wings and roof pillars, the position of the hood, bumpers, luggage compartment lid.

Also, curved joints can be on the underside of the rear bumper. If so, then the car is broken. Check the radiator. Due to the too wide cells of the radiator grille, pebbles fall into the radiator and leave dents on it. You can focus on this and bring down the price of a car by 20,000 rubles.

Pay attention to optics. The plastic headlights may have scuffs and small chips. Broken headlight retainers indicate that Lancer got into an accident.

I advise you to check the foglight clamps to the bumper - they break easily. As for the fog lights, the following problem is possible: the reflective device burns out. It is also possible to bring down the price of the car on this. If xenon is supplied, then it is necessary to check the position of the ignition of the headlights. It should be located below the headlights. If not, it means that the light was installed by the “skillful hands” of the master, who did the work poorly. Also check the functioning of the light, its operation when the radio is turned on. As for the taillights, a common problem is that the internal central position lamps burn out.

Salon

There may be cracks and cracks on the ceiling. If they are, then the ceiling was removed. This could be done either in order to improve sound insulation, or to install special stages (a good option), or it was necessary when repairing the car body. I will dwell separately on the steering wheel - the rings on the hands of the drivers cling to the steering wheel cover. The upholstery of the seats does not cause any complaints, a careful attitude - and there will be no problems. There may be gaps between the tidy and the console. If so, it might have been changed.

Engine, suspension, transmission

Due to the novelty of the model, I have no information about serious problems, except for the possible failure of the CVT. I recommend paying special attention to the diagnosis of the variator, the cost of the bu is from 60,000 rubles. Brake discs can be a problem. If you slow down sharply and then drive through a puddle, the shape of the discs will change (Lancer's disease). You can check this only on a test drive: when you press the brake, the trembling gives off to the steering wheel. I advise you to inspect the condition of the stabilizer struts: if they are very weak, then they can bend on a bump. If the CV joint anthers are faulty, then you need to change them - another reason to reduce the price of the car.

From the transmission, you can expect any surprises. There are the following types of boxes: manual transmission (all engines), automatic transmission (only 1.5 liters), CVT (1.8- and 2-liter engines).

The most problematic is the automatic transmission. If the warranty period has not expired, it makes sense to diagnose it in the cabin. I don’t know how the manual transmission and CVT will behave when the warranty is no longer there. Note, replacement of a mechanical box - 190,000 rubles, CVT - 450,000 rubles.

I note that the motors are durable, do not cause trouble. It will never be superfluous to check the condition of the engine at a good service station. Prevention is always better than buying new parts and repairs, especially since they are very expensive for the Lancer.

Test Drive

Noise isolation is practically non-existent. Everything that is possible is buzzing: arches, motor (for 1.5 automatic transmission). It's Lancer's disease. Some do extra soundproofing. But until the end to overcome this disease will not succeed.

On a test drive, pay attention to the following points: the ability of the car to keep the trajectory, the condition of the steering wheel, the functioning of the motor, the clarity when braking, the rumble of the chassis. Also do not forget about all the lamps, opening the hood and luggage compartment lid (opening cables). Check the tape recorder. By the way, the radio on the Lancer is not up to par. As for the ride, if the mileage is low on the speedometer, and the body is not in the best condition, then you are being deceived. There is such a trick: if you put another tidy in the car, the speedometer will show the mileage of the car from which the panel was removed !!!

Mitsubishi Lancer has many advantages, the first of which is a stylish design. But once again I want to emphasize, before buying one hundred check the condition of the car.
