How to remove viruses from Android through a computer if the phone does not perform certain actions after infection?

Android is a rapidly evolving operating system for smartphones and tablet personal computers.

Due to its prevalence and flexible security requirements, OS users are often attacked by virus software.

There are such main types of infections on the OS "":

  • malware embedded in installed programs;
  • ransomware viruses.

Removing a Trojan from a Computer

Does not require superuser rights, so you can easily get rid of all malware in one removal process.

An Android Trojan is an infection that infects a device through a browser.

The task of such sores is to remember all the user's entered and saved data (passwords, logins, mail addresses, mobile numbers, bank card numbers and other data).

Removing a Trojan from a computer is very easy.

Follow instructions:

  • Open the antivirus and select the scan of individual files and folders;
  • In the drop-down menu, select the connected folder or ;
  • Wait for the scan to finish and delete the folder with the program that is recognized by the defender as malicious.

Removing built-in viruses

Signs of a virus in the device that is embedded in one of the installed programs:

  • Even in the disabled state, the program consumes a large amount of device RAM;
  • Application crashes. Due to an embedded virus, the program may not perform some functions;
  • Mobile antivirus recognizes the utility as an infection.

Removal occurs in two ways: using the device itself or from a computer.

To remove a virus using only a smartphone, download a reliable antivirus from the official store, scan the systems with it and remove the infected program found.

If the mobile defender does not find any deviations in the program, you should use a computer.

An antivirus must be preinstalled on the PC, or - these defenders operate the largest updated virus database not only for PCs, but also for smartphones and tablets.

Install the Android Commander program on your PC - it allows you to manage all the installed programs of the device.

Remember! Never download apps from unknown sources. According to statistics, about 90% of such programs contain an embedded virus. Download all games and applications only from the official source - the application storeGooglee.

Cleaning a smartphone from a banner virus

These types of infections can be picked up while working with the browser.

If an ad blocker is not installed on the phone, there is a high probability of clicking on one of the banners, which will download a virus to the device in stealth mode.

In the future, when working with the phone, advertising banners will pop up.

Removal occurs as follows:

  1. Scan the device with a computer antivirus;
  2. Delete the found malicious content;
  3. Go to the smartphone data folder;
  4. Using the Android Commander program, remove all cache and download data from the browser application.

Getting rid of ransomware viruses

Ransomware viruses block work. To unlock the device, they require the user to send some amount to an online wallet.

Most of this malware can be removed without paying a fee. Follow instructions:

  • Connect your phone to your computer;
  • Download Recovery mode or "Recovery" on your smartphone or tablet. To do this, hold the power button and volume up for 10 seconds;

Have you noticed that your smartphone or tablet suddenly began to behave suspiciously? Did it spontaneously reboot, turn on the network on its own, show advertising banners, and generally begin to live its own life? Most likely, your device has become infected with a virus.

If the early Android operating system was not very susceptible to the risk of infection, then with the growth of its popularity and, in particular, with the increase in the number of users using gadgets for financial transactions, the number of viruses for this OS began to increase rapidly. Especially dangerous are Trojans that try to transfer the owner's funds to the attacker's account.

Let's take a look at how to understand that a smartphone or tablet is infected and how to remove a virus from Android, as well as protect the device from infection.

Signs of Android virus infection

  • suddenly the device began to boot longer than usual;
  • smartphone / tablet slows down, spontaneously reboots;
  • extraneous SMS or calls in the log that you definitely did not make;
  • money leaves the balance of the phone;
  • the presence of advertising banners that are not associated with any application or browser;
  • network interfaces (wi-fi, mobile Internet, Bluetooth) turn on spontaneously;
  • spontaneous installation of applications, unknown application icons;
  • lost funds on electronic wallets, mobile banking;
  • the smartphone/tablet is locked with the display of a request to pay for unlocking;
  • applications stop opening or an error message is displayed when they are launched;
  • the battery suddenly began to sit down faster than before;
  • the anti-virus program itself was deleted.

If your device has the symptoms listed above, then you need to check Android for viruses.

If the smartphone or tablet is not locked and retains at least some performance, then you can try to remove the virus using an antivirus application, if it has been installed. If the antivirus was not on the device, then you need to try it from Google Play. You may not be able to install the antivirus, because. malware actively prevents its removal.

Open the application and run it for a full scan of the gadget's internal memory. If a virus is found, select " Delete". However, it is not always possible to cure the device in this way. For example, the phone or tablet is blocked or the antivirus does not find a malicious object. Or it finds and deletes, but the virus is still restored. Some Trojans simply prevent the scanning program from starting. What to do in this case? Then you will have to try to remove the malware from safe mode or using a computer.

Safe Android mode is a device startup mode in which the minimum number of system processes are loaded, and since. most viruses use these processes, then in this mode they will not be able to work and resist their removal.

Download the gadget in safe mode as described in the instructions and perform a full check of Android for viruses. If the antivirus does not open or is missing, then reinstall it.

After scanning, restart your smartphone (tablet) in normal mode. If this method did not help, then we proceed to remove the virus in Android using a computer.

This method can help when the device is locked or the virus cannot be removed even in safe mode.

In severe cases, when none of the above methods worked, then (Hard Reset) or a complete flashing of the device will help.

Flashing or, by analogy with a computer, reinstalling the operating system is the most cardinal option when a virus has infiltrated the system image from which Android is being restored and even Hard Reset does not help.

If you do not have enough experience, then it is better to do a flashing at a service center or entrust it to a knowledgeable person, because. Without skills, you can easily disable the device.

How to protect Android from viruses

If the following rules are observed, the risk of infection with the virus is minimized. Namely:

  1. Install applications from official sources (Google Play, etc.), do not be tempted by hacked programs distributed on suspicious sites. As they say, the miser pays twice, saving on a "broken" application, you can give much more to restore the health of a smartphone or tablet.
  2. Update the system on your gadget if the manufacturer offers them. Updates fix system vulnerabilities exploited by malware.
  3. Install an antivirus program and do not turn it off.
  4. Do not open e-mail with attachments or suspicious SMS and MMS on your device.
  5. Try not to give your device to other hands.

Alas, Android systems, as well as desktop versions of Windows, are susceptible to viruses and malicious codes. Each new virus "Android-system" itself is not able to recognize, although the latest versions of the system have a pre-installed scanner. Therefore, you have to use all sorts of third-party software (at least to get rid of the threat so accurately). However, you should not panic even if the mobile device may store confidential information used, for example, by banking applications. But in most cases, virus attacks are aimed specifically at them. About how to remove a virus from Android on a phone or tablet, the conversation will go on.

For such cases, several solutions can be proposed, which, however, differ quite strongly from each other. We will separately consider issues related to situations where the virus cannot be removed by the proposed methods. Unfortunately, such situations also occur, and many protection tools turn out to be powerless in terms of bypassing blocking access to virus files (programs like Unlocker are not provided for mobile devices). But first things first.

How to check Android for viruses: problems and difficulties

The biggest problem with half of the known versions of Android is that initially they did not provide any serious means of protection. At the very least, anti-virus packages had to be installed from the Play Market storage (Android games without viruses or other programs can also be downloaded there, but recently they have been attacked, and the user downloaded an already pre-infected application to a mobile device).

In versions above four, a virus detection tool appeared, but it has nothing to do with how the same stationary scanners at the entrance work. Thus, the most primitive solution to the question of how to check Android for viruses can be its use. Relying on 100% success, of course, is not worth it, since such a statistical scan reveals threats only in 30-40% of cases, nothing more.

In such a situation, it is better to use third-party applications downloaded from the same repository, however, they may not be installed due to the effect of the virus on the system. Next, we will consider how to remove a virus from Android for different situations. It is assumed that at least one solution will work (dramatic measures will have an effect for sure, but more on that later). And most of these methods are not as complicated as it might seem at first glance.

How to remove a virus from Android on your phone: basic steps

If we outline the processes for removing threats that have penetrated a mobile device in a general sense, we can note several main options that will help eliminate threats. Among them, the priorities are:

  • use of special software directly on the gadget;
  • scan and remove viruses when connected to a computer;
  • full reset to factory settings.

As for the last point, we can separately say that the problem of how to remove a virus from Android is not solved by restoring from a backup. Firstly, the backup itself may initially contain a virus, and secondly, the threat may settle on a removable card, and recovery will be performed exclusively for the main (internal) drive.

We use built-in protection for versions 4.0 and higher

So, first of all, all owners of operating systems above the fourth version are recommended to check their gadget with a built-in antivirus immediately after the first symptoms of infection appear. Signs of a threat penetration can be a slowdown in the device, a spontaneous reboot, the appearance of calls that the user did not make or sent messages of the same type, installation of applications in the background without the knowledge of the owner, loss of access to electronic wallets or bank cards, violation of the launch of installed applets with giving errors about crashes in com.android.systemUI, fast battery drain, etc.

In this case, you just need to run the scanner and see what it finds. There is little hope for him, but in some cases it is possible to get rid of the most primitive threats in this way.

What to do with OS below the fourth modification?

For modifications below the fourth, the problem of how to remove a virus from Android can be solved at the initial stage by installing third-party software. You can find quite a lot of programs, but it is better to use utilities from well-known developers.

The first step is to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus on Android and fully check the system. Of course, the load on resources, if you keep the application active all the time, will increase quite a lot (similar to Windows), but you can simply scan and remove viruses, and then uninstall the main program itself.

If the application is not installed from the Play Market, access to which or its operation may be blocked due to a threat, you need to find another trusted source on the Internet (official site), download the mobile version of the application from there, transfer it to a removable memory card and install through the APK file.

Using advanced antivirus software

But only narrowly focused utilities can not be limited. So, for example, many optimizer programs designed to clean the system of debris and speed up its work also have built-in anti-virus modules.

If it is the antivirus software that is not working or does not find any threats, you should scan in applications of a more general nature. Perhaps the virus does not recognize them as software that counteracts its functioning.

Safe mode

Finally, the question of how to remove a virus from Android, if the software is not installed or the threat itself is not removed, can be resolved by putting the device into safe boot mode. Sadly, not all users know how to do this.

To do this, hold down the on / off button and hold the confirmation button on the screen until a message appears prompting you to switch to safe mode (for versions higher than the fourth). For modifications of OS 4.0 and below, you need to turn off the device in the usual way, turn it on again, when the system logo with a green robot appears, simultaneously hold down the volume up and down keys and hold them until the device is fully loaded. After that, you can perform the above steps again.

Removing viruses when connected to a PC

Now let's see how to remove viruses from Android through a computer. There shouldn't be any problems here. Just connect the device with a USB cable, after allowing debugging.

Windows Explorer will display two drives (internal and external). Through RMB on each of them, simply select a check using the command line of the installed standard antivirus for this. If that doesn't help, use portable utilities with media selection as targets for scanning.

Resetting the settings using the standard method

Finally, a few words about how to remove non-removable viruses from Android, when none of the methods proposed above gave the desired effect. In this situation, only a complete reset of the settings or a flashing of the device will help.

In the simplest case, in the settings section, you need to select the appropriate item from the backup and restore menu, wait for the process to finish and reboot the device.

To restore the factory firmware, as they say, from scratch, you can use specially designed utilities. For example, for Sony, this could be Xperia Companion, an application that is installed exclusively on a computer or laptop. For other models, you can also find utilities of this kind. You just need to visit the official website of the manufacturer and download them from there. This process will take more time, but you can be completely sure that after that the user will receive a phone or tablet in the same condition as if it had just been purchased.

hard reset

However, if such methods do not work, you can perform a forced reset, which is called a Hard Reset. The Recovery menu is entered in different ways (mainly by holding the volume and power buttons). However, the next steps are the same.

In the recovery menu, you need to select the wipe data / factory reset item and wait for the settings to be restored, which is akin to formatting a disk in conventional computer systems.

Summary

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to fight malware. It's hard to say what to use. It all depends on each specific case. But the most effective method, if the user has previously made a copy of contacts or some other important information, of course, is to return to the factory settings with the complete removal of all information from the mobile gadget. But this is, so to speak, the most cardinal method.

In simpler situations, if you still manage to install anti-virus software, scanning utilities should not be neglected either. At the very least, you can tolerate the load on system resources during the verification period. After neutralizing all the threats found, there is nothing easier than simply removing an unnecessary applet by installing some more lightweight scanner like McAfee or 360 Security at the input, which will not particularly affect system performance.

However, there are enough such programs even in the Play Market, not to mention their huge number on the Internet. But it is strongly recommended to download such utilities exclusively from the developer's websites, because on other resources, oddly enough, along with the antivirus, you can also catch a virus that is initially built into the shell of the APK installation file, and then activated in the background when installing the main application.

If your device started to work poorly, live its own life, then most likely your phone has caught a virus.

The main "symptoms" of an Android device being infected with a virus:
    • the phone turns on longer than usual;
    • there are numbers unfamiliar to you in the call list;
    • excess funds are deducted from the account;
    • you are deprived of the opportunity to use your electronic wallets and other financial management systems;
  • your social media pages are used to send prohibited material or spam.
  • the battery will be discharged much faster, because the virus program consumes a lot of energy.

Remove viruses with 360 Security Lite

The easiest way to "treat" an android device from malicious files and programs is to clean it with an antivirus program.

360 Security Lite is one of the most popular antivirus software for Android devices. In order to clean your device or provide future protection, you should:

1. Install.

2. After installing the application, click on the icon on the desktop, and run the program.
3. In the Anti-Virus tab, click the Scan button.

4. The app will start scanning your device for viruses.

5. The next step is to remove the malware. If you find something - no quarantines are needed - immediately put the switch on all to the delete position.

Note: I think it's obvious to everyone that this method only works if the android device is fully functional. The same applies to other antivirus programs.

Using Avast Mobile

Another good antivirus app is Mobile Security & Antivirus Avast. How to use it, read below.

1) Download the application from the official site or install.
2) Please note that you have read the license agreement and privacy policy.

3) Go to Smart check - Check device.

4) Anti-Virus will immediately start updating virus databases.

5. After the scan is completed, you will be prompted to choose actions in relation to threats. Now the antivirus will monitor your device.

Treatment in safe mode

The thing is that the vast majority of virus programs do not work in safe mode. This means that if you start the device in this mode, the virus simply will not work, respectively, it can be easily removed.

To start safe mode, follow these steps:
1. Hold down the power button of the device.
2. Hold your finger on "Disable Device" until you see this message:

Once your Android device is in safe mode, scan it with antivirus and remove malware. If the antivirus program does not start, reinstall it by downloading it again from the Google Play Market.

How not to catch the virus again - prevention

To prevent viruses from infecting your device, follow these tips:

  • install applications of any kind only from trusted sources, for example, from the Google Play Market, here administrators carefully check their content;
  • install from sites you trust - for example: site :-)
  • always update the OS of your device;
  • do not visit suspicious sites or click on links like "Your Android device is blocked" or "Viruses have been found on your phone", if you click on such messages, you will definitely acquire a virus.

Brief summary

In this article, I told you how to solve the problem of viruses on Android devices. I hope it will be useful to you, and you can easily get rid of unwanted and extraneous programs. Good luck!

A SEO specialist needs a smartphone not only for calls, as it is necessary to work with mobile applications, without which the work becomes more complicated. Personally, I use a dozen applications, including Web Money, Yandex Money, TOTP for Epay and a bunch of other stuff. They allow you to make payments when you are away from home, check your email, and track activity on the site. It’s a big problem if viruses start up on the smartphone, because this is how account data, passwords can float away, and the device starts to blunt and kick.

Today I will tell you how to remove viruses, trojans from a smartphone running Android 5. It will take half an hour to clean up, after which you won’t have to worry about the state of the balance of payments, and the device will stop showing miracles of stupidity when surfing the Internet.

The birth of a problem

The problem was born immediately after the New Year, when my son and I tested the capabilities of a new smartphone and downloaded various rubbish from everywhere. The first sign of the disease manifested itself in the refusal to update via OTA, as the system files were changed by viruses. The disease of the device has progressed - when connected to the Internet, the left applications began to load by themselves, such as AliExpress, the processor began to overheat from the effort, and the phone freezes.

As a result, at the end of the first month of life, it became impossible to use the Internet without a mat, launching applications became flour and the phone shone flying into the wall, despite the guarantee.

Virus Scan

Naturally, I did not sit back and began to look for evil spirits on the phone. Antivirus 360 Total for a smartphone disappointed - when checking, it found 6 dangerous files, but did not show their installation location and could only offer to disable applications. He cannot delete anything because of the lack of root rights. The list of dangerous applications included:

  1. - Android Media Service,
  2. -App Manager,
  3. - Guard Service,
  4. - phone service,
  5. - Setting service.

In applications, I found only the first two, the rest were successfully disguised. It didn’t make sense to carry a smart under warranty, there was also no desire to pay for flashing a new device. What to do, the eyes asked the brain, the latter strained.

Working solution started with installing Malwarebytes-anti-malware, then went on knurled.

Removal instructions

In order to completely remove all viruses and trojans on Android, three programs were needed:

  1. Malwarebytes-anti-malware,
  2. King Root,
  3. ES conductor.

The Malwarebytes anti-virus scanner found all the viruses, Kingo allowed me to get root-rights for removal, and the Trojan explorer removed.

Malwarebytes

First, install Malwarebytes and scan your smartphone. He will find all the evil spirits, indicate its location on the phone and give a brief description of the viruses. The scanner is compatible with regular antivirus, so you don't need to uninstall anything before installing it. I found it in system / priv-app:

  1. - org.show.down.update,
  2. -newmast.apk,
  3. -higher.apk,
  4. -newdlir.apk,
  5. - parlmast.apk,
  6. - CLPower.apk,
  7. - smalls.apk,
  8. - tpings.apk,
  9. - oneshs.apk.

This is from what he could not remove due to the lack of root rights and morale, he burned 4 folders with malicious content at the stake, I don’t remember their names exactly - the ashes hid everything. Overwrite the "coordinates" of dangerous files that the scanner found but could not delete.

So, after scanning, you found viruses, some of them were removed and you know the exact location of the rest of the malicious files. Now you need to get root rights and install the explorer to delete files.

Kingo Root

On my Android 5, only Kingo Root has successfully become, so I recommend it. Even the vaunted Bajdo Root did not. You will find all the programs needed to remove viruses below. They are personally tested by me, everything is working and will not break Android.

Before installing Kingo, I recommend that you follow two rules - charge your phone normally and connect to the network, as you will need to download updates and install Super User. You launch the application, click "get root" and turn blue while waiting for the software to be installed and updated. There is a more complicated way to install root rights using Kingo through a computer, but you should not complicate your life when it works like that.

ES conductor

Got rights? Now install ES_file_explorer- a conductor capable of working with root rights. In Explorer, go to the menu (top left), look for the Root Explorer tab and turn it on. Agree with stupid questions from the application and go to the menu item "Local storage - device".

It remains to find malicious files and delete them. Select and delete.

After removing the viruses, restart your phone and scan it again with a scanner. If not everything is removed, repeat the procedure for complete recovery.

The disease requires sacrifice, as it happened.

So, let's consolidate the material covered:

  1. - Install Malwarebytes and look for viruses,
  2. - Record the location of non-deleted files,
  3. - Install Kingo Root and open root rights,
  4. - Install ES Explorer,
  5. - Remove viruses
  6. - Reboot your smartphone
  7. - Recheck the system with a scanner again.

Remove the Kingo Root program immediately after the destruction of viruses, you can leave Super User and ES Explorer. If you are going to a workshop for warranty repairs and you need to remove root rights and their traces, then go to the Super User menu and use the “remove root” line. If Super User was removed and you still have root rights that need to be removed, then put it again and remove the rights through the menu. Otherwise, the SU file in system / bin cannot be reached.

And yes, if you think that you don’t have viruses on Android, but in 90% of cases you are wrong.

You can download Malwarebytes, ES Explorer and Kingo Root in one rar file directly from the Zegeberg blog.
