Camouflage and detection of tanks. How does disguise work? Camouflage net in world of tanks

Detection and camouflage- the most important elements game mechanics. The knowledge gained from this article will help you understand how to act correctly in order to be the first to detect the enemy and hide from him more effectively. Both are extremely important in order to seize the initiative in battle and have the right to the first shot.

Review and discovery

Review of each combat vehicle is calculated in meters and indicated in the performance characteristics of each vehicle. The review value is indicated for a crew with 100% of the main specialty.

Visibility range in game

It is important to understand that on the battlefield the player sees not only those opponents that his tank discovered, but also those that his allies discovered. In this regard, it is necessary to distinguish between two concepts: detection range and visibility range.

Detection range- this is the maximum distance at which the tank can detect the enemy. The game mechanics determine that it cannot exceed 445 meters. If, taking into account the equipment, equipment and skills of the crew, the viewing range of the tank exceeds 445 meters, then the extra meters are counted as a bonus, making it easier to detect camouflaged opponents. Visibility range- this is the maximum distance at which tanks, both allies and enemies, can be visible when detected by them. The game mechanics limit the visibility range to a radius 565 meters around the tank.

Basic ways to increase the detection range of enemies

Increased visibility range

Disguise

Disguise- this is the property of a technique to be invisible to the enemy. If there were no camouflage in the game, then opponents would always notice each other at their viewing distance (but no further than 445 meters), provided there is direct visibility. However, there are many nuances in the game that affect the detection of equipment, in addition to the review itself.

Aspects affecting camouflage

Equipment dimensions

Each combat vehicle has a stealth coefficient, the value of which depends on its sizes. For large tanks such as Maus or Jagdpanzer E 100, the coefficient will be minimal, and for compact vehicles with a low silhouette such as AMX ELC bis, Rhm.-Borsig Waffenträger - maximum.

Class Bonus

  • Light tanks from level 4 (except for the AMX 40 and Valentine) are equally invisible both while moving and when stationary, that is, movement does not affect their stealth. Some low-level tanks also have this bonus.
Actions Vegetation
  • Forests, bushes, trees, tall grass give a bonus to camouflage.
  • The vehicle must be completely hidden from the enemy, namely its overall points. If at least one is not hidden, the tank is unmasked. Therefore, caterpillars or a gun muzzle sticking out of a bush (building) will not affect your visibility in any way - there are no marker points on them.
  • At a distance of up to 15 meters, a bush (or other vegetation) becomes “transparent” to someone hiding behind it. That is, the tank itself can see through the bush, but its opponents cannot.
    • If there is less than 15 meters to the base (closest point) of a fallen tree, then the tree is in sniper scope will be transparent, and if the distance to the center of the tree is more than 15 meters, then the tree will still be transparent in the sniper scope, but for observation rays this tree is opaque
  • At the moment of the shot, all vegetation within a radius of up to 15 meters loses most of its camouflage properties, that is, the shot unmasks the tank.
X-ray
  • At a distance of 50 meters, opponents can see each other in any case. Even if there is a building between them.

How to improve the camouflage of a combat vehicle

And besides, with pumped Disguise:

  • Upgrade the skill of all crew members Combat brotherhood.
  • Install equipment Improved ventilation.
  • Use equipment that gives +10% to all crew parameters for one battle Extra ration, Chocolate, Cola box, Strong coffee, Improved diet, Pudding with tea, Onigiri, Bays.

In the previous article, we looked in detail at what principles the game mechanics of camouflage (and detection) are based on and how they work. However, this was only a theory, and in this article we will look at practical side issue - the use of camouflage and ways to increase the stealth of tanks.

The visibility of tanks depends on several parameters, which can be divided into “external” and “internal”. “External” factors include the presence of vegetation along the line of sight of the enemy tank, the distance to the bushes/trees at the time of the shot, and the distance to the enemy. The “internal” ones include the class of equipment, the caliber of the gun, the presence of camouflage or camouflage net, and the crew’s possession of the “Camouflage” skill. Let's consider each factor separately.

Distance to bushes/trees at the time of the shot

At the moment of firing, the overall camouflage factor of the tank decreases depending on the caliber of the gun; this rule also works in cases where the tank is located behind vegetation. However, there is one trick here: the camouflage coefficient of a bush or tree remains unchanged if the firing tank is at a distance of 15 meters or more from it.

Therefore, if you want to remain invisible, move 15 meters away from the bushes and calmly attack the enemies. True, at such a distance the bushes lose their transparency, so you will only have to navigate along the contour of the glowing enemy tank.

Gun caliber

A simple rule is true for all classes of equipment: the larger the caliber of the gun, the more the tank’s stealth coefficient at the moment of firing decreases. For the same vehicle with different guns, the camouflage coefficient can change by 2%. Therefore, for example, the American light tank T49 on a 90 mm gun will be less noticeable than on a 152 mm high explosive. However, this is one factor that cannot be changed on most tanks without losing firepower.

Availability of camouflage

Camouflage gives a constant bonus to stealth, which depends on the vehicle class: for tank destroyers - +4%, for tank destroyers and artillery tanks - +3%, and for tank destroyers and artillery destroyers - only +2%. Therefore, applying camouflage to tank destroyers, tank destroyers and tank destroyers has a very noticeable effect, the detection distance of tanks is reduced by 7 - 20 meters, camouflage can also compensate for the enemy’s “Radio Interception” and “Eagle Eye” perks.

And for heavy tanks and artillery camouflage has more of a decorative value. Here the caliber of the gun makes its own adjustments - the bonus from camouflage can be completely lost at the moment of firing.

So for tank destroyers and tank destroyers, the use of camouflage is mandatory, for tank destroyers it is very desirable, and for tank destroyers and artillery destroyers it makes virtually no sense.

Application of a camouflage net

Camouflage network gives a serious bonus to stealth, but only works on a stationary tank (3 seconds after stopping). The camouflage coefficient depends on the class of equipment: for tank destroyers - an increase of 15%, for tank destroyers and tank destroyers - an increase of 10%, and for artillery destroyers and tank destroyers - an increase of only 5%. These bonuses are quite considerable, but they can only be realized on “sniper” tank destroyers that conduct battles in the bushes, and on “passive fireflies” (which, together with stereo tubes, perform LBZ). You can, of course, put a masknet on some CTs (for example, on Panther), but only a small number of players resort to this with great patience and perseverance.

So it makes sense to use a camouflage network on some tank destroyers (especially on turret-based waffentragers with their high base stealth) and on a limited number of tanks and tanks, but for tank destroyers this module is useless. You can also often find a network on artillery self-propelled guns, but this is more likely out of desperation - for this class of equipment, especially with open wheelhouses, few interesting modules are provided, and the third slot often remains empty.

Crew perk “Disguise”

The “Disguise” skill is a rather controversial and difficult thing. This perk can provide a very significant increase to the tank's base stealth coefficient, but there are a number of caveats.

Firstly, upgrading the perk makes sense for vehicles with a high base stealth coefficient - over 12.5%. Such vehicles include all light tanks, most tank destroyers and artillery self-propelled guns, and a lot of STs (with the exception of “barn” vehicles with large dimensions). Moreover, in the case of LT, the stealth coefficient remains the same at rest and in motion, so for them the “Camouflage” perk gives the maximum bonus. For tanks with a lower base camouflage coefficient - all tank destroyers, many large tank destroyers and large tank destroyers - it is better to level up the more important crew skills first, and leave camouflage for later.

Secondly, the bonus depends on how many crew members have the skill. The minimum bonus is 1.79 if two crew members have the skill (100%), the maximum bonus is achieved if six crew members have the perk. So it’s more profitable to pump out this perk from as many crew members as possible.

Finally, thirdly, the bonus from the “Camouflage” skill depends on the presence of the “Combat Brotherhood” skill, the “Improved Ventilation” module, the use of an additional ration, and on how proficient the tank commander is in his main specialty. The maximum bonus is 1.89 with a 100% commander, the presence of “Combat Brotherhood” for all crew members (of which there must be at least six), with ventilation and rations.

Conclusion

All this information is enough to draw a few simple conclusions about camouflage:

  • On all types of equipment, shoot at a distance of 15 meters or more behind a bush or tree;
  • For tank destroyers, it is mandatory to use camouflage and have the “Camouflage” skill among the crew members; for “bush” tank destroyers, it makes sense to have a camouflage net;
  • For LT and ST, camouflage and the “Camouflage” perk are very desirable, although in the case of ST, one should proceed from the base camouflage coefficient of the vehicle;
  • For TTs and artillery self-propelled guns, camouflage, camouflage nets and the “camouflage” skill do not matter; it is better to focus efforts on increasing the firepower of these vehicles.

Detection and camouflage are the most important elements of the game mechanics of World of Tanks. Both aspects are extremely important for successful play on any combat vehicle. Thanks to the site, you will know how to be the first to detect the enemy and effectively hide from him.

Part 1: Review and discovery. Keep your eyes open.

The visibility of all tanks is calculated in meters and is indicated in the characteristics of each vehicle. Please note that the vision value is indicated for a crew with 100% of the main specialty. That is, if your crew has 75% of the main specialty, then the view will be less than what you see in the hangar.

One of the game conventions is the fact that on the battlefield the player sees not only those opponents whom he discovered on his own, but also those whom the team “spotted”. From here it is necessary to distinguish two concepts: detection range and visibility range.

Detection range – the maximum distance at which the player’s tank can detect an opponent. It does not exceed 445 meters. If, taking into account the skills of the crew, equipment and equipment, the value is above 445 meters, then the extra meters turn into a demasking bonus, which helps to detect hidden opponents.

Visibility range – the maximum distance at which the game engine draws allied tanks and enemy tanks they detect. The mechanics of the game include a circle with a radius of 565 meters around the tank. The exception is the self-propelled gun art sight, where tanks - if they are visible to allies - are displayed throughout the map.

There are several ways to increase basic overview tank and enemy detection range.

The vehicle must be equipped with a turret with maximum visibility.

Since the commander is responsible for overseeing the battlefield, his primary specialty must be upgraded to 100%. The commander's injury reduces visibility.

The commander's skill Eagle Eye (+2% to vision, +20% with broken observation devices), the radio operator's skill Radio Interception (+3% to vision), the skill of all crew members Battle Brotherhood will give an increase to vision.

Installation of equipment Coated optics and Stereo tube. The first will give a permanent increase of +10% to your review. The second gives a +25% increase in vision after 3 seconds in a stationary position. When both modules are installed on a tank, the effects are not cumulative, but can work separately.

Equipment Installation Improved ventilation increases visibility, as do other tank features.

Using equipment that gives a +10% increase to the crew’s basic skill for one battle.

Part 2. Camouflage and camouflage. Shooting bushes

Camouflage is the ability of equipment to remain unnoticed on the ground. If there were no camouflage mechanics in the game, then rivals, provided there was direct visibility, would detect each other at the maximum viewing distance, but no further than 445 meters. However, there are several other factors that influence technology detection.

Aspects affecting camouflage

X-ray. At a distance of 50 meters, opponents illuminate each other even if there are buildings between them. They can hear each other conditionally.

Equipment size. Each tank in World of Tanks has a stealth coefficient depending on its size. The larger the car, for example the German TT Maus, the lower the coefficient will be. They have the maximum coefficient combat vehicles with a squat silhouette, such as Object 416, AMX ELC bis.

Actions. If the tank does not move or shoot, then it does not have a penalty to camouflage. While on the move, the stealth coefficient is reduced to 75% for medium tanks, to 60% for tank destroyers, and to 50% for heavy tanks and self-propelled guns. Light tanks have no movement penalty. Their coefficient is always the same. This is a class feature of the LT (except AMX 40 and Valentine). Shooting almost completely reduces the level of stealth. The degree of unmasking depends on the caliber of the gun and the presence of a muzzle brake

Vegetation. Bushes, trees (whole and fallen), and tall grass give a bonus to camouflage. At a distance of up to 15 meters, the flora becomes “transparent” to the one hiding in it, and impenetrable to the enemy. At the moment of the shot, all vegetation within 15 meters loses its properties, that is, the shot is a strong unmasking factor. Therefore, it is useful to drive a little further than 15 meters before shooting. You will have to shoot blindly from memory, but if you get used to it, you can safely shoot your opponent, turning into a shooting bush.

Dimensional and observation points. How does this work

Dimensional and vantage points invisible to the player help the server determine who can see whom in battle. If you imagine that the tank is a brick, then the dimensional points are located in the center of each side of the imaginary brick (length, height, width). There is another point at the base of the trunk. Observation points are located at the base of the trunk and at the site of observation devices. Usually this is the commander's cupola and driver's instruments.

Detection check beams emanate from the vantage points of all tanks in battle at a certain frequency. To maintain camouflage, it is necessary to hide the dimensional points behind various obstacles on the map. If a tank barrel or part of a caterpillar sticks out from behind a bush, then detection will not occur, since there are no marker points on them.

Several ways to improve camouflage

Crew members skill Camouflage. It is necessary to upgrade all tankers, otherwise the effectiveness will be low.

Equipment installation Camouflage network. Allows you to significantly increase your camouflage after stopping and 3 seconds of preparation. The bonus depends on the vehicle class. For tank destroyers it is the largest - +15%, for light and medium tanks it is +10%, and the smallest bonus is +5% for heavy tanks and self-propelled guns.

Applying camouflage, in addition to improving appearance, will give an increase in the camouflage coefficient by 2-4%, depending on the class of equipment. Camouflage can be purchased both for gold (forever) and for in-game credits for 7 or 30 days.

Leveling up the commander's skill Sixth Sense. It will not add camouflage, but it will allow you to realize in time that the enemy sees you. This information will save your tank from destruction more than once.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Most World of Tanks participants have little understanding of the game's vision and camouflage algorithms. Therefore, they are neglected, considering them dishonest and unworthy. But that's not true. Skillful use of your advantage in optics and knowing how to hide your tank in a bush are very useful. Those who use the characteristics of their combat vehicle as efficiently as possible and know the features of the game often win.

Camouflage is one of the most important elements of game mechanics in World of Tanks. It is advisable for every player to understand this topic for two reasons:

  • you need to understand how to act correctly in order to be able to detect the enemy before he detects you;
  • know how to properly hide while avoiding backlight.

We suggest you familiarize yourself with the main nuances associated with camouflage in order to take the initiative in battle and get the right to the first shot.

Review is an integral part of the topic of camouflage. It is this that influences the distance from which the car will be detected.

An overview of each vehicle is displayed in meters and is indicated in the tank's performance characteristics.

In battle, the player sees not only those enemies that he personally discovered, but also those discovered by his allies. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish between two concepts:

The self-propelled gun in the artillery sight sees detected enemies at any distance.

You can increase your review rate in the following ways:

  1. Equipment installation: coated optics+10%, stereo tube +25%, improved ventilation +2,15%.
  2. Learning skills. Commander - eagle eye +2%. Radio operator - radio interception + 3%. To the entire crew - military brotherhood +2,15%.
  3. Equipment. National dish+10% to crew skills will add +4.3% to visibility.

If the tank’s visibility, taking into account the effects of the crew’s skills, equipment and equipment, exceeds 445 meters, then all subsequent meters will be used to unmask the enemy, that is, they will facilitate the detection of camouflaged enemies.

How detection occurs

In battle, each tank sends rays invisible to our eyes in the direction of the rest of the equipment located within the viewing radius of the performance characteristics of your vehicle.

If the beam of your tank reaches the overall (blue) point of the enemy, then it is detected. Using the IS tank as an example, consider the position of these points:

Each tank has two vantage points, which can be used to detect enemy vehicles. That is, there is no need to move out from behind the cover with your entire body; it is enough to show only the following points shown in the figure:

These viewpoints work in turn, after a certain time period - tick. The time between ticks depends on the distance between the vehicles and ranges from 0.1 to 2 seconds. The view from these points is assumed to be a sphere with a fixed radius, so the machine sees equally in all directions from each view point.

The overall points on the vehicle are designed to provide other players with the opportunity to illuminate your vehicle (these points project visibility rays), and at the same time, observation points are designed to detect enemy tanks (viewing rays emanate from them, which are equal to the maximum viewing radius according to the specified performance characteristics of your vehicle).

How long is detected equipment visible?

After the moment of intersection of the observation points of one tank and the line of sight of another, the second tank will be in the light for up to 10 seconds, even if the visual contact between the line of sight with the view points is interrupted. Therefore, if an illuminated car drives into a shelter, it will still not immediately disappear from sight. Also, tanks will remain exposed if the tank transmitting intelligence data received a shell shock to the commander or was destroyed.

Disguise

Camouflage is the ability of every vehicle to remain unnoticed by the enemy. The lack of camouflage would lead to the fact that players would constantly see each other within the tank's viewing distance, and the battle could become a kind of shooting gallery. However, in WoT there are many nuances, in addition to overview, that affect the likelihood of finding a vehicle.

Aspects affecting camouflage. When is a tank considered invisible?

Size. Each machine has own coefficient stealth, which primarily depends on the dimensions.
Heavy tanks, like , or heavily armored ones have minimum values, and a small technique with a low silhouette, like , is maximum.

The caliber of the gun and its dimensions affect the drop in camouflage after a shot:

Vegetation. Elements of our environment natural environment: bushes, tall grass, forest and trees give an excellent bonus to the vehicle's stealth. It is important to hide the body from the enemy, since there are dimensional points at which detection occurs.

Caterpillars or the muzzle of a gun peeking out from behind a building/bush will not affect your visibility in any way, because there are no marker points there.

At a distance of up to 15 meters, the vegetation becomes transparent to the hiding player. Thus, he sees through the bush, but his enemies cannot.

For example, if the distance to the nearest point of a tree you have covered does not exceed 15 meters, then this tree will become transparent in the sniper scope. If the distance to the center of the tree exceeds 15 meters, then the tree itself will still remain transparent in the sight, but for viewing rays it will be opaque.

How to hide in the bushes correctly

The bush in the game is a translucent object that increases the camouflage of the equipment hidden behind it. When an enemy tank approaches the base of the bush at a distance not exceeding 15 meters, the bush will become transparent for him and he will also be able to aim through it without obstacles.

The size of the bush is important: large tanks standing in low bushes will be visible from the tower. The visibility will not be affected in any way by the depth of entry into the bush; it is enough to even stand behind it. The only thing you need to remember is the distance of 15 meters. To make sure that the tank is securely hidden behind a bush, it is enough to turn the camera towards the intended enemy to see yourself from the side through his eyes.

To achieve maximum effectiveness from camouflage using a bush, you can position yourself behind it at a short distance, but so that the bush does not become transparent for you in a sniper scope and shoot at the enemy solely by his silhouette. In this situation, the likelihood of detection is minimized.

Does the effect of stealth increase if you hide behind several bushes standing next to each other?

After the shot is fired, the stealth of the vehicle is no longer affected by all bushes located in the area of 15 meters, with the exception of one, which gives the largest bonus to the stealth of the vehicle. This mechanic applies to each line of sight from the vantage point of the detecting tank to the overall point of the one firing.

Let's consider an example, for a tank located among large quantity bushes Some of them are within 15 meters of your tank, while others are further away. One enemy tank comes at you from each side. After your first shot the situation looks like this:

  1. There are only 6 rays of visibility for each dimensional point, so for each ray that comes from the first enemy vehicle, the densest bush is determined (it is from this that visibility will be calculated).
  2. The same situation repeats with the second enemy.

In this case, both points are performed simultaneously. When one of the enemies detects you, the second one will immediately know about it (if the communication range allows you to report the detection). All bushes located beyond 15 meters will enhance the effect of the bush chosen to calculate camouflage at the time the shot was fired.

Bushes in the game are distinguished between dense and sparse, and the bonus to stealth directly depends on this. Maximum effect can be obtained from 4 dense bushes.

Actions. IN stationary and without opening fire on the enemy, the vehicle does not receive penalties to camouflage. While on the move, the stealth coefficient of a vehicle decreases:

  • by 75% for medium tanks;
  • by 60% for anti-tank self-propelled guns;
  • by 50% for heavy tanks and artillery.

Values are approximate, in some cases exceptions are possible.

The shot significantly reduces the tank's stealth level.
This parameter depends on the caliber of the gun and the presence of a muzzle brake - it further reduces the stealth factor when firing.
Before the shot:

After the shot:

Firing unmasks the vehicle and the vegetation surrounding you also partially loses its camouflage effect.

Fire. A burning car will glow across the entire map, like a Christmas tree.

Stealth before arson:

After the arson:

It also depends on the class of equipment.

X-ray. Regardless of your actions, at a distance of 50 meters, players see each other in any case.

How to increase vehicle camouflage

There are several options for increasing camouflage directly outside of combat.

Crew skills

Learn the Disguise skill for all tankers. This perk will increase the stealth of the vehicle by approximately 1.8 times (depending on the number of crew members). The skill works constantly: when moving, standing still and while shooting, which significantly reduces the radius of visibility of the tank. With upgraded camouflage, the enemy will need to get much closer to detect your tank.

The effect of the skill is not reduced when the crew is stunned.

Also, a small bonus will be given by studying “ Combat brotherhood».

How is the camouflage of a stationary vehicle activated?

On all vehicles, with the exception of light tanks (from level 4 and above), visibility in motion is twice as high as visibility in a stationary state.

How the invisibility of vehicles in motion is reduced:

After stopping, the level of the “Disguise” perk doubles.

Camouflage

Applying camouflage will provide a permanent bonus to the overall stealth coefficient depending on the vehicle class:

  • +2% for tanks and self-propelled guns;
  • +3% for ST and LT;
  • +4% for tank destroyers.

Other

Improved ventilation national dish and pre-battle instructions can also slightly increase camouflage.

All of the camouflage effects listed above are cumulative.

As a result, the maximum level of disguise looks like this:

Brief summary

Using the SU-152 as an example, let’s see the difference between a tank destroyer with absolutely no bonuses and with improved stealth after firing:

The distance required for the enemy to detect an uprooted vehicle is 23 meters higher. Boom equipment and pre-battle instructions will add a couple of meters.

Comparison of the distance for exposure while stationary without firing:

The difference is 123 meters on a perfectly translucent straight line. This will at least give you the right to the first shot, the opportunity to inflict more damage in battle and increase survivability, and, accordingly, the chance of victory. Therefore, stealth must be upgraded.

The degree of camouflage is the susceptibility of a vehicle to detection by the enemy. Main goal camouflage - to prevent exposure of your location on the map.

How is a tank detected?

Each vehicle in World of Tanks sends invisible beams within the viewing radius, which is specified in the tank's characteristics. If such a beam reaches the overall point of the opponent’s vehicle, then the latter is considered detected. The tank model in this system looks like this:

  • Any technique has two viewing points
  • Activation of viewpoints occurs alternately, that is, first one, then the other. Depending on the distance to the object, the time interval between changing points can vary from 0.1 to 2 seconds.
  • A pair of points form around the vehicle, one might say, a ball, the radius of which determines the vehicle’s viewing parameter. The maximum possible viewing radius is 445 meters. Equipment that has been exposed by an ally becomes visible to everyone at a distance of up to 564 meters. The artillery mode allows self-propelled guns to detect illuminated vehicles at any distance.

Here it is worth clearly distinguishing two concepts: dimensional points of equipment and observation points. Spots allow the enemy to see your vehicles, and vantage points help you spot rival vehicles.

How long is a detected tank visible?

Once a vehicle is detected, its visibility is maintained for 10 seconds, even if the visibility beams no longer touch the viewpoints. This suggests the conclusion that any tank that drives behind some object does not immediately disappear from visibility. Detected vehicles continue to be visible for some period of time even after the destruction of the detecting vehicle.

When is a tank considered invisible?

A car is invisible to rivals when the dimensional points of its body are invisible to rivals. This is ensured by various objects: buildings, vegetation, relief irregularities.

However, objects on the map become useless if your car and your opponent's car get within a certain close range. So, being 50 meters away, all tanks will see each other, regardless of the equipment and the terrain around it.

How to hide in the bushes correctly

First, you need to take into account that the bush is translucent and provides an increase in the degree of camouflage of the equipment hidden behind it. The quality of camouflage here depends on the ratio of the height of the vegetation and the size of the vehicle that is hiding behind the bush. The depth to which a vehicle enters a bush does not in any way determine the degree of camouflage, so it is quite possible to stand behind the grass itself.

You need to know that when an enemy tank approaches the center of this vegetation less than 15 meters, the bush becomes transparent to it, that is, the view is unobstructed.

To avoid possible detection when shooting, you need to stand a little further than the bush itself. Thus, while aiming, the bush will be opaque, and the opponent will be targeted along the silhouette.

How does the Camouflage Network equipment work?

“Camouflage network” is static equipment, that is, it operates only when the equipment is at rest. When the tank moves and is at rest for less than 3 seconds, this module remains inactive. And only after three seconds have passed after the equipment is completely secured, the “Camouflage Network” emblem is highlighted green– equipment is active.

How does camouflage work?

Camouflage is a permanent addition to the degree of camouflage of a vehicle. The increase from Camouflage is determined by the model of the tank. By the way, “Camouflage” works the same both when the vehicle is moving and when it is not moving.

How does the Disguise skill work?

This skill reduces the visibility radius of a vehicle. The skill is constantly active, be it movement, rest, or even shooting.

When the camouflage of a stationary tank is activated

It is always easier to notice a car in motion than when it is not. The “Camouflage” skill ensures that the stealth of a vehicle is doubled compared to the movement state. This applies to all tanks except high levels LT.

Does detection of a tank when firing depend on the caliber and shell of the gun?

Caliber affects the degree of camouflage of the tank. How more value caliber, therefore, the visibility of the tank in front of the enemy increases. The muzzle brake is a significant factor on which the stealth of the vehicle also depends. So, if it is present, a shot unmasks the vehicle more than a shot from a vehicle that does not have a muzzle brake.

The visibility of the tank does not depend on the type of projectile.

Is there a difference in visibility between tanks of the same class?

The invisibility of each tank is indicated in its tactical and technical characteristics. This question depends only on the specific machine where the “Disguise” skill is individually upgraded.
