Vyacheslav Vasilievich stopped wearing wedding ring, and Tamara Ivanovna said that Tikhonov ruined her life. To calm her nerves, she began to drink heavily and attempted suicide several times. Tikhonov's daughter Anya lived in the Moscow apartment of her parents, but in order to control her mother, she often began to visit the suburbs. Tikhonov was happy - so he could see his tiny grandchildren - twins Slavik and Gosha.
They said that Vyacheslav Vasilyevich even had to meet with his son Volodya from his first marriage in the garage. When Volodya died of a drug overdose (he was only 40 years old), Tikhonov tried to help his son's second wife and his grandson. But the actor's wife and daughter quickly stopped his noble impulse and forbade him to communicate with "former" relatives.

After 50 years of separation, he found his first love Yulia.
It was still in Tikhonov's small homeland - in Pavlovsky Posad. Tenth-grader Slava fell in love with nine-grader Yulia Rossiyskaya at a dance. The young were even going to get married, but Tikhonov went to study in Moscow. Already married to Mordyukova, he often wandered to Pavlovsky Posad to Yulia.
“He tortured me terribly,” Yulia recalls now. - I knew that he had a pregnant Mordyukova in Moscow, and he flirted with me. And it was a pity for him, and she herself was tormented.

Our conversation began with memories of Tamara Tikhonova's childhood, which took place in the town of Kovalevo, Kezsky district.
I was born in a small village, about 13-14 households. We had no hospital, no school, no store. I had to go to school in the neighboring village. Directly to it was about 2 kilometers, if you go along the high road - then 2.5 km. I had such a bag, like a field bag - I put it behind my back, myself for skiing, and for lessons. Then, when I got older, I got a bicycle.

I collected and donated pine and fir cones. With this money I bought a bicycle.
At what point did you realize that sports would become your profession?
For a long time I didn't even think about it. We just had a small village stadium outside the garden. I played football there all day long. I grew up with boys, I never sat at home. I look at modern children and it’s so pitiful: they don’t even know how to play properly! Girls come to the cross-country skiing team, you start offering them football, volleyball, basketball, but they can't. But games are coordination, that is, the basis of everything in almost any sport. Big mistake when coaches, already from adolescence, crush their athletes with continuous volumes and monotonous work. Children should play, no matter what sport they play.
KULAKOVA BECAME AN OLDER SISTER TO ME
- How did it happen that four-time Olympic champion Galina Kulakova suddenly became your coach?
Galina Alekseevna at first seemed to me such a legend that I was even afraid to approach her. In 1979, at the competitions in Apatity, I only watched her in the canteen, it was scary to meet her. Already in 1981, we met by chance at the airport. And I was shocked that we were flying to the competition on the same flight. I thought that such great people Olympic champions must travel on separate aircraft. Then already during the flight we met. But they began to communicate closely a year later, at the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR. I lived in a room with Zinaida Amosova and Nina Paramonova, and they were very friendly with Kulakova and Smetanina. Now I was sitting in the dining room with them all at the same table. Lyuba Egorova later admitted: "I even envied you that you communicate with them!"
- Is it true that Kulakova gave you her skis?
It happened. At that time I had only one pair of skis. And at the same Spartakiad, she did not go at all. I cried a lot: it's a shame to sit at a table with such people with my results! Nina Paramonova at some point asked what was happening to me. And I admitted that I do not have suitable skis. Then Galina Alekseevna gave me her combat pair, and I showed the second result in the relay race. In the same year she left big sport, and gave me these skis. They are still in my house.
- Kulakova did not just give you skis, but actually became a personal trainer?
I can't say that she was my coach - I always had a coach in the national team. Galina Alekseevna became a friend, older sister, a mentor in life, if you like ... Between the training camps, she herself took me to training. She helped with all domestic issues: with obtaining an apartment, buying a car, and so on. After the Calgary Olympics, they gave me a two-room apartment. And Galina Alekseevna actually gave me one extra room: I moved into her three-room apartment, and she settled in my "kopeck piece".
- So you still live in Kulakova's apartment?
No. Apparently, the roots, the memory of village life make themselves felt. For my 50th anniversary, they gave me money in the republic, and now I live on earth, in my own house. I plant a garden, run a household and get great pleasure from it.

- Do you remember how much you paid in prize money for the Calgary Olympics?
We had prize money, I think, was normal. We got much more than we earned ordinary people. Although, of course, this cannot be compared with what they give after the Olympics today. It used to be that at competitions you go for "firms" and ask: "Give me a hat, give me gloves ...". We were young, we wanted to look beautiful. No offense to the biathlon girls, but at first they just crawled along the distance. We sometimes held joint training camps, the difference was huge. When Reztsova came to biathlon, she made a revolution. The speeds have grown very much, and already when I crossed, many athletes there knew how to run and shoot. I did not want to take someone's place in the team. Now you look at some of the teams: they may or may not, but they still climb. I am for the fact that each person should be in his place. Prizes, salaries, of course, beckon. It is necessary to fight this. We need a scientific team that will help us competently restore athletes after competitions. And then we all train, load, but we have no idea how to restore. Until recently, we did not even have a doctor in the Republican team. Only recently a physiologist appeared.
