The front one - cutting - directly develops the hole, pressing into the ground. The middle part, the supporting one, has hydraulic jacks, with the help of which the shield is moved as the tunnel is developed. The rear, tail part serves to protect the excavation and allows, without interrupting the pressing process, the installation (called lining) of reinforced concrete solid or prefabricated blocks and individual elements of collector tunnels.


Reinforced concrete elements of prefabricated collectors and collector tunnels PT 24-15 are manufactured according to series and working drawings developed by the Mosinzhproekt Institute.


Reinforced concrete, from which elements of prefabricated collectors and collector tunnels PT 24-15 are made, is by far the most durable building material. The high strength of concrete allows it to be used even in extreme conditions, for example, at great depths underground, where products experience quite strong pressure from the soil and various impacts from those contained in the soil chemical compounds. Reinforced concrete elements of collectors and collector tunnels PT 24-15 are reinforced with spatial frames made of welded meshes, flat frames and rods, which are made of hot-rolled reinforcing steel classes A-I, A-II and A-III according to GOST 5781-82.


Prefabricated elements of collectors and collector tunnels PT 24-15 are very important products, the quality of which determines the safety of communication networks and tunnels. Therefore, quite strict requirements are imposed on the quality of these products.


Cracks are not allowed in the concrete of products supplied to the consumer, with the exception of shrinkage and surface technological cracks, the width of which should not exceed 0.1 mm. When manufacturing prefabricated elements of collectors and collector tunnels PT 24-15, the following maximum deviations from the design dimensions are allowed: ±10 mm in length, ±8 mm in internal cross-sectional dimensions (diameter or height and width), ±5 mm in wall thickness, ±5 mm – according to the dimensions of technological folds and cutouts. Deviations from the perpendicularity of the end surfaces, characterized by the deviation of the angle between the end and side surfaces from right angle, should not be more than 10 mm. The difference in the lengths of the diagonals of products should not exceed 8-12 mm.
