Baturina, who has been living in London for a long time, appealed to the British court, demanding that the deceiver not only return the entire amount, but also the interest. Chistyakov at one time insisted that the trials take place in Russia - apparently, the businessman is well aware of the incorruptibility and reputation of his native court. However, it didn't work out. Baturina last year also sued her husband Glucose for 4.5 million euros, the latter posted a “sale” sign on his assets. The last appeal to the businessman was denied.
But where is the rest of the money? Apparently, the trials are still ongoing. Last summer, the London Commercial Court allowed Elena Baturina to adjust her 100 millionth claim, but the details are unknown.
It is obvious that Luzhkov's wife will achieve her goal. Whether Chistyakov managed to "lose" other people's money is a question, but there is not much to pay him back, since his other assets - not only Jam Mall - are in a deplorable financial condition.
Oil leaked through my fingers
Things are going from bad to worse for RusPetro, an oil company co-owned by Mr. Chistyakov. The businessman has nothing to brag about, after all, the company's difficulties arose precisely under his strict guidance.
In early 2014, it became known that Alexander Chistyakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ruspetro, pledged most of his shares - 13% in favor of the structure of another Ruspetro shareholder Andrei Rappoport. The company had problems and appeared - all in the same 2014. RusPetro's net loss quadrupled to $272.72 million. To 55.1 million dollars - twice - the company's revenue also decreased. Immediately, production volumes fell by 26%. The year 2015 for the company ended with a 20% decrease in revenue and an increase in net debt to $300 million.
In June of this year, the shareholders of the oil company took RusPetro off the London Stock Exchange. This step had to be taken against the backdrop of falling liquidity of the asset and lack of interest from investors. The collapse in oil prices also played a role.
So it remains for Mr. Chistyakov now only to distribute interviews in which he announces with nostalgia that he "misses the scale." Of course, you don't want to think about the worst. But the wives of once rich businessmen have such a habit - to “evaporate” from the life of their spouses immediately after the head of the family stops “bringing” a tight penny in his beak.
