Educational institutions for hairdressing. Pros and cons of the profession

Search Cancel

It's no secret how important role at the first (and not only) impression of a person, he plays appearance- one of the main components of which is a hairstyle. Creating it is a real art, requiring not only an eye and accuracy, but also a pronounced artistic taste, and, of course, experience. However, experience comes only with time, and future hairdressers, stylists (as well as related, for obvious reasons, make-up artists, cosmetologists, applied aesthetics specialists and others) receive the initial basics of skill in secondary professional educational institutions, preparing professionals of this profile - colleges of hairdressing.

List of colleges

In Moscow alone, the number of beauty salons providing hairdressing services exceeds 3,000 - in connection with which, a fairly representative list of hairdressing colleges that include training programs in the specialty "hairdressing" or "hairdresser" is not surprising. To date, there are 15 of them in the capital. Although there is no entirely narrow-profile institution with a specialization in “college of hairdressing art” among them. The list looks like this:

  • Moscow First educational complex;
  • MHPKTiD (Artistic and Pedagogical College of Design and Technology);
  • college of light industry №5;
  • InterCollege NOU (college at the Institute of Economics and Culture);
  • College of Service and Urban Planning No. 38;

At the same time, the first 2 numbers on the list are the most popular, and the NOU Intercollege specializes in citizens with foreign citizenship.

In addition, when applying for a job in salons, applicants who have graduated not from colleges, but from one of the prestigious courses, are highly quoted. Among the most famous of which in the capital are, for example, the ESTEL school or the school of the notorious Pavel Bozhenov.

Admission

Budget education for this profession is not provided for in any college, not only in Moscow, but in Russia as a whole, and the average cost of education now ranges from 40 to 70 thousand rubles (both in colleges and in specialized schools). Recruitment to technical schools, colleges and colleges is also standard - as a rule, it provides only an interview and certificate scores (examinations in Russian language and mathematics in some technical schools exist, but are rather a rare exception than a rule).

Learning features

The terms of study in hairdressing colleges in Moscow vary somewhat. At basic level"hairdresser" the minimum of them is only 10 months, subject to admission after the 11th grade, and a year more - after the 9th grade. But in general, the duration of training (most often in-depth in the direction of "hairdressing") hairdressing colleges practice at the traditional level - 2 years and 10 months after 11 years of study in high school, and 3 years 10 months for those who completed only 9 classes.

The education and training of future hair stylists is very diverse. As a rule, students receive specialized knowledge in a narrow-profile direction - a male master, a female master, or children's master. However, there are universal masters, and even generalists. Each future specialist acquires knowledge both in the actual haircut and styling, coloring, curling, proper hair washing and head massage. Added to this are the skills of shaving and the use of dozens of specialized tools of a professional hairdresser (from scissors and combs to curlers and decorative elements), as well as medical and cosmetic products designed to improve and improve the condition of the scalp and hair.

In addition, in addition to all the variety of technical skills - including the creation of such unique elements as dreadlocks or African braids - a real specialist (especially one who counts on a serious career) communication skills, goodwill and tact are required. And also in without fail- subtle artistic taste. Implying the ability to understand the types of appearance and the ability to choose hairstyles just for him. Otherwise, it will not be possible to achieve a general harmony of appearance.

Work and prospects

The lack of job offers even for a novice hairdresser in Moscow on this moment does not exist. At any given time, the number of open vacancies in this profession exceeds several hundred. At the same time, the initial salary of a hairdresser without experience is not particularly high - but bonuses are added to an average salary of 25 to 40 thousand rubles, and, as experience is gained, the prospects for those with real industriousness and talent open up the widest. After all, stylists-hairdressers are in demand not only in beauty salons - but also in advertising, and modeling business most high level. And the most brilliant eventually open their own salons and even become trendsetters.

Most parents say that one cannot live without a higher education: no one will hire a good job, "you will sweep the yards" or "you will become a saleswoman in a store." In the post-Soviet era, equality was erroneously rooted in the minds of Russians: having a diploma means a decent life.

However, periodically the public is faced with a break in the pattern. Entrepreneurs turn out to be petushniks, and yesterday's graduates prestigious universities standing at the checkout or working in sales for decades at below-average salaries.

In January 2016, the Russians envied the cleaner of Gazprom - her dreams really came true: she turned out to be the owner of a Dior bag, which was estimated at 2 million rubles. However, an expensive accessory was stolen from a woman of a "non-prestigious" profession.

On July 14, the world became aware that the hairdresser of French President Francois Hollande earns about 10 thousand euros a month, which in terms of rubles is just over 700 thousand. And this despite the fact that, as you can see, the master has a small front of work.

Paid education in higher educational institutions is not for everyone now: depending on the prestige of the university, the annual cost of education in a paid department can range from 90 thousand to 500 thousand rubles, that is, for the coveted bachelor's degree, you need to pay from half a million to 2 million rubles.

But it is quite affordable - to become a hairdresser, the price of education of which varies from 8 thousand to 70 thousand rubles for 20 lessons. On average, this is 70 academic hours. At the same time, all courses are sharpened for learning from scratch.

The average price of turnkey hairdressing is 12 thousand rubles. And they will give you a diploma. Only not about higher education, but about graduating from a hairdressing school. So is it worth studying for four years and "losing" nice car(for two million), then to feel stable, but still lack of money? Or is 70 hours enough to secure a decent life?

Hairdresser from hopelessness. Two jobs and no beauty

Hello, today I am your hairdresser.

Right on the threshold of the "Barbershop near the house" I was met by a slightly plump woman of about 30, tired, unkempt, with her hair collected at random. With regrown roots on the head, a pink scrunchie goes well. Zhenya moved to Moscow from Tashkent to become a hairdresser. And, as she says, not from a good life: her Central Asia oppressed.

Russians are not liked in Uzbekistan. There were different things. It happened that they could throw stones. And they threw it. Personally, I didn’t get it - only sidelong glances and rude jokes. But our neighbors were constantly humiliated, they were not perceived as people.

Now Zhenya works in the network of economy salons "Our Hairdresser".

There are two floors on which massage and beauty parlors, solarium, manicure and hairdresser. The last two zones are not fenced off from each other in any way. The minimum price for a haircut is 190 rubles. The maximum does not exceed 2.5 thousand.

There are seven mirrors in the main hall (on the second floor). For each - according to the master. But only four are occupied. A manicurist sits in the middle of the barbershop. The smell of varnish and acetone hangs obsessively in the air, sometimes mixing with warm air currents from a hair dryer. Women's and men's haircuts - all mixed up. On the background music hits you can hear the scissors "cracking" every second - men are being cut in the right corner.

At the entrance to the hall, either a Vietnamese woman or a Kazakh woman scanned me with a glance. She drew attention to my shoes and, before I had time to reach and sit in a chair, I ran up:

Oh Reeboks (sneakers brand "Reebok". - Approx. Life), cool!

A minute later, apparently, having found a fashion accomplice in my face, she ran up to me with a phone:

Look! (Shows Reebok's Instagram page.) New collection! Really beautiful? Only cost nine thousand, too expensive.

And then she smiled at me as if she had known me all her life. After that, I finally sat down in a chair and the haircut began.

My master - Zhenya - admitted that her interest in hairdressing appeared in her childhood.

Once a sister came from the salon, they cut her hair like hell. On one side more than on the other, and the bangs are crooked. Well, I took it and fixed it. I trimmed it so that even my mother did not notice, did not even believe that it was me. Therefore, after school I went to hairdressing courses, - says Zhenya. - I'm generally a universal master. If you want to be successful, you need to be a generalist. I can cut with both scissors and a machine. Both women's and men's haircuts. I can make beauty without scissors at all. Masters come to us - they can't do anything. In general, this chain of salons has a school. Therefore, they train and provide employment here. But most accept already with education. The most common courses cost about five thousand rubles a day. best case. This is a lot.

Barber "without education and a successful businessman

But not everyone who wants to become a hairdresser will have such a fate. For example, Stanislav Korshunov is a successful hairdresser in Moscow. Now he works at the hairdressing salon FIRM. Prices for brutal haircuts in the salon range from 700 to 1700 rubles. Masters provide services of manual men's haircuts, haircuts with a machine. Trim mustaches and beards. Also in the salon there is an extreme and the most expensive service - shaving with a dangerous razor.

Stas does not complain about his fate, he succeeds in his business and says that the path to a professional "barber" is never easy.

The world of hairdressing broke into my life with lightning speed. AT early age I wanted to get a haircut from professionals, I always painstakingly searched for the right masters. At a more conscious age started to get interested in style. I began to study images and men's wardrobe. This, in turn, has also become a serious hobby for me, - Stas explained.

I began to look for a place, and most importantly - a person who could become my mentor, because I did not have special education- said Stas.

According to Stanislav, most of training took place under the patronage of Vladimir Amosov (a well-known barber in Moscow and St. Petersburg, he studied at Vidal Sassoon, worked at Toni & Guy, reached the chief master at Chop Chop, Cosmotheca and now cuts his hair at FIRM).

The number of daily customers is enough to smoothly and deliberately develop yourself and not blush. I will not say specific numbers, it is individual for everyone, the gradation is sufficient. But I can say that this is a nice amount. It is also pleasant because you are doing a good deed, and no one can take this deed from you.

At the same time, despite the fact that Stas did not admit how much he receives, his colleagues said that on average they receive from 50 to 70 thousand rubles, not counting customers at home and tips.

And this is a relatively small salary for a "barber": for example, in the network of men's barbershops TopGun, on average, masters receive monthly - without taking into account client allowances. Tips for the barber (if he really good specialist) amount to 50-60 thousand rubles per month.

When Hollande's barber has nothing to envy

Famous stylist Vladislav Lisovets owns hairdressing salons in Moscow and Krasnodar. Now he plans to open his own school. He admits that he is already looking for a place. In the future, Vlad himself and his masters will teach.

Investing in hairdressing education, in his opinion, is necessary and justified:

If you feel the potential in yourself, that you are ready to be benevolent, talented in good sense developing master - you need to learn. Don't be afraid to take risks. You can even go to study in London, like some of my masters. They fly around Europe, study for two weeks and return with improved technology. And then they start making very good money. The main thing is that you are needed. The most important and pleasant moment is the demand. You can and should spend money and time on training. A good hairdresser earns very good money.

Vlad also admits that the work of a barber is hard. On my feet all day, a huge amount of different, sometimes unnecessary information from clients - all this is not easy to endure. But, if you work hard, the result will not keep you waiting:

- Salaries of about 10 thousand. euros are absolutely possible. A good hairdresser (who does great haircuts, self-employed or not) always makes good money. Yes, the salaries of stylists in foreign currency have now fallen (due to the exchange rate), but still, the master’s income can easily reach up to 500 thousand rubles a month. It is difficult to get to such a specialist - some of them need to be recorded in a few months.

The average price of a haircut in the salon of Vladislav Lisovets is from 3.5 thousand to 4.5 thousand - depending on the master. In total, 12 professionals work for the stylist in the capital's "barber shop". He selected each personally, evaluated the talent.

At the same time, Lisovets also showed with his career history that it is not necessary to have an expensive hairdressing education if you have talent.

I, as many say, was born with scissors in my hands. And I knew that in any case my profession would be somehow connected with this instrument. I have a very well developed imagination - this is important in my art. I practically did not study. I just took scissors and started training on my friends and parents. A year later, "clients" returned, they wanted to get their hair cut with me, - said Lisovets. - I grew up in Baku, and at that time there were no schools. Then the only way to learn how to cut was to observe other masters. I whole year in order to understand the art, he stood behind the master (woman) of a very good salon and memorized the details of her work.
