As an independent educational institution appeared relatively recently, in 2012. This happened as a result of the merger of the two largest universities in the region, which gave a very tangible result - the quality of education in the region has increased significantly.

History: IGASU

Ivanovo State poly Technical University was created as a result of the merger of the local University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and the Textile Academy. It is noteworthy that the university was opened only in 1981, but even this time was enough to prepare a large number of qualified specialists. Over its long history, the university has managed to form a whole program for the training of technical and engineering personnel.

IGASU, having become a part of IvGPU, "took" with it the system of education in the field of architecture and construction, which includes retraining of personnel, further vocational education, non-governmental education, higher professional education, secondary professional education and a number of other components. Previously, there was also a college at IGASU, where annually 1000 students received education under the programs of NGO and SVE. Every year, the university carried out a large amount of research work, research was carried out in the amount of 20 million rubles or more.

The Polytechnic University (Ivanovo) consists of another component: the Ivanovo State Textile Academy, which was established in 1932 and was called the Textile Institute. Later there was a renaming of the institution, which in its history has managed to turn into a huge educational and scientific base for textile design and the fashion industry.

Before merging into a single university, almost 9 thousand students studied at the academy, there were 6 faculties and 23 areas of training. For out-of-town students, places were provided in dormitories in the amount of 1300 places. It was here that a quality management system that meets international standards was formed. The Academy had a large number of connections with textile centers and factories in Europe and the former CIS.

Ivanovo State Polytechnic University now consists of 8 domestic institutions, each of which is subdivided into the corresponding departments. Each of the institutes has professional educators who strive to put as much theoretical and practical knowledge into the heads of their students. The modern material base, which is updated annually, allows us to hope that students will receive maximum new knowledge from their teachers.

The university continues to support all those projects that were previously carried out by two universities, this also applies to the work of the system for the training of engineering personnel, and international relations with textile enterprises around the world. IvGPU, whose departments are increasing year by year, is now one of the most popular universities in the region. The departments that belong to the Institute of Transport and Technology are very popular: highways, motor vehicles and cars, safety and traffic organization. Over the past years, the institute has grown into an educational institution known in the Ivanovo region and beyond, having worthily taken its place among construction universities country.

Ivanovo State Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (renamed to IGASU) is the youngest university in Ivanovo, although its ancestry dates back to 1918, when the Riga University was transferred to Ivanovo-Voznesensk Polytechnical Institute. Among its six faculties was the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The Civil Engineering Institute was opened on October 1, 1981, because the Ivanovo region and the region as a whole were acutely aware of the shortage of highly qualified builders.

In 1995, the institute was transformed into the Ivanovo State Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Currently, more than 5,000 students are studying at 7 faculties of the university in 14 specialties of higher education. vocational education and three directions of preparation of bachelors. The academy has postgraduate studies in 11 specialties and doctoral studies in 3 specialties, where more than 70 people study. More than 200 teachers conduct teaching and research activities at 24 departments, including 20 doctors of sciences and professors and 114 candidates of sciences and associate professors.

The Academy has representative offices in the cities of Shuya and Kostroma. On the basis of representations, training is carried out under several programs of higher, secondary and additional professional education. Established multifaceted relationships with manufacturing enterprises regions for which the academy trains specialists. Higher education in IGASA was received by heads and leading specialists of many construction and road organizations of the Ivanovo region, heads of 40 road and bridge maintenance enterprises of the Kostroma and Yaroslavl regions.

A student studying at IGASA can receive not only higher education, but also additional working specialties that will help him in finding a job and just in life. So, for example, graduates of the specialty "Economics and Management at the Enterprise" will be able to receive additional specialties of an accountant, office manager, graduates of construction specialties master the professions of a plasterer-painter, bricklayer, plumber, bricklayer-finisher, gas and electric welder, concrete worker; completing the specialty "Roads" - a road worker.

The Academy has 329 computers, 14 computer classes, five local computer networks. The staff of the academy regularly concludes with the administration collective agreement regulating the provision of normal working and living conditions for students and employees. The academy has established a number of nominal personal scholarships, paid academic and social scholarships. Students who study "good" and "excellent" receive increased scholarships. Three students of the academy receive scholarships from the President of Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Governor of the Ivanovo Region for excellent studies, success in scientific and social work. In the IGASA health center there are dentist's offices, procedural and general rooms - with a dressing room and a room for anthropometry. Here, annual medical examinations of students of all courses, anti-epidemic vaccinations, and fluorographic examinations are carried out. The health center spends donor days, provides the first first aid. The university has two canteens for 120 seats in the main and second buildings. Meals for students and teachers are organized throughout the school day. For classes physical education and improving sportsmanship, the academy has a good sports base, including: a game room, a weightlifting room, a shooting range, a table tennis room, a rehabilitation center with a micropool, a hall for students with poor health. A large set of events is carried out by the trade union committee of IGASA students.

For reference educational activities and to carry out research work, the academy has the necessary material and technical base: five educational and laboratory buildings; training and production workshops; two student hostels; set of service departments. All types academic work held in their own premises.

Since 1997, the structure of the academy has included a professional lyceum, which has a modern laboratory and production base and provides primary vocational education in 8 major construction specialties. Lyceum graduates have the opportunity to continue their studies and receive higher professional education.

At the academy, at 6 faculties and 24 departments, a large scientific work, there are 2 dissertation councils for the defense of doctoral and master's theses, doctoral studies in three specialties and postgraduate studies in 11 specialties. Scientific schools of professor, doctor of technical sciences were formed. S.V. Fedosov, professor, doctor of technical sciences P.P. Guyumjyan, professor, doctor of technical sciences N.N. Elina, Professor A.D. Gritsenko, who conduct research in the field of building materials science, production of building materials, processes and apparatus chemical technologies, heat supply and road facilities. Department of Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Yu.M.Voronov. IGASA fruitfully cooperates with Russian Academy architecture and building sciences. Rector of IGASA Professor S.V. Fedosov is a corresponding member of RAASN, and Professor R.M. Aloyan is an adviser to the same academy. Our scientists take an active part in academic readings.

During school year turns out material aid for low-income students, visits to theaters, treatment in sanatoriums, recreation in sports camps are organized and paid. Students living outside the Ivanovo region are paid once a year for travel to and from their place of residence. Creative teams of students participate in interuniversity regional competitions and festivals. Every year a summer and winter holidays students, the work of student construction teams. The Academy maintains close cooperation with Grafisoft (Hungary) and Credo-Dialogue (Belarus), whose software products are used in educational process academy.

Since 1992, the university has been training foreign students. More than 25 master engineers for Asian and African countries have been trained.

In the history of the Ivanovo State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, next periods:

IGASU was the only university in the Ivanovo region that trained engineering and technical personnel in the field of construction and architecture. The University has created a unique integrated system continuing education, which included programs of NPO, SPO, VPO, DPO, retraining of personnel and advanced training, postgraduate training of highly qualified personnel.

By 2012, about 5 thousand students studied at IGASU at 7 faculties. Training was carried out on 24 educational programs VPO, including 17 specialties, 5 areas of bachelor's degree and 2 areas of master's degree.
Since 1997, the IGASU included the College, which trained about 1,000 students in 18 programs of primary vocational education and 6 programs of secondary vocational education, as well as 15 vocational training programs. The experience of IGASU in the field of integration of primary, secondary and higher vocational education within one university was recommended by the Ministry regional development for distribution throughout the Russian Federation.

By 2012, the IGASU team consisted of 912 people, including teaching staff - 382 people, 530 people. – scientists, educational support and service personnel.

The university staff included: 1 Academician of the RAASN, 1 Corresponding Member of the RAASN, 1 Honored Scientist of Russia, 2 Advisors of the RAASN, 3 Honored Workers of Education of Russia. 14 teachers had the title of Honorary Worker of Vocational Education of the Russian Federation and 1 - the title of Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation.
42 Doctors and 225 Candidates of Sciences worked at the university, highly qualified personnel were actively trained in 18 postgraduate specialties and 3 doctoral specialties. The Dissertation Council for the defense of doctoral dissertations in three specialties was actively functioning.

By 2012, IGASSU entered the growth trajectory in its scientific activity, more and more actively declaring itself as a major center of fundamental and applied research in the field of building materials science, production of building materials, road construction, strength and reliability of building structures, economics and organization of construction and public utilities.

The annual amount of research carried out by the scientists of the university amounted to more than 20 million rubles. More than 3,000 patents and copyright certificates were obtained, 15 scientific schools were formed, which were headed by prominent scientists known not only in Russia, but also abroad. The university created 2 small innovative enterprises who effectively dealt with issues of technical expertise and design. For more than a decade, IGASU has hosted the International Scientific and Technical Conference "Information Environment of the University", regularly published collections scientific papers, "Scientific notes" of the faculties. Partnership relations in the field of scientific research were actively developed.

Many IGASU projects were carried out jointly with the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences (RAASN), with other leading universities and scientific centers countries, by order of the regional authorities, industrial enterprises and construction organizations. The university had a material base that allowed for high-quality training of personnel. There was an internal information network covering all educational buildings of IGASSU. The Regional Center for an Open Network for the Transfer and Dissemination of Professional Knowledge in the Construction Industry (RCOS) was created, which made it possible to actively use the methods and techniques of distance learning.

IGASU has always had wide international connections with universities in Poland, Germany, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and other countries, close ties with the Union of the Construction Industry of the Lands of Berlin and Brandenburg in the region vocational training. Leading teachers and scientists of IGASU took part in the international program "Traffic Safety" under the auspices of World Organization health care at the UN.
