History reference

The history of the creation of the faculty goes back to 1947, to the period when the first faculties of physical culture appeared in the country. It was then that the first faculty of physical education in the Urals was opened at the Pedagogical Institute, which until 1960 was the only one in the Ural-Siberian region. The basis of the personnel potential of the faculty during the period of organization and formation was laid by graduates of the Moscow State Central Institute of Physical Culture, the Higher School of Trainers and the Leningrad State Institute of Physical Culture named after P.F. Lesgaft.

A.M. was appointed the first dean of the faculty. Mayorova, who worked in this position from 1947 to 1960. From 1960 to 1961, Honored Trainer of the Russian Federation Yu.R. Frenkel; from 1962 to 1970, Yu.V. Katukov; from 1970 to 1983 the dean of the faculty, associate professor V.V. Alferov; 1983-1990 - Dean - Associate Professor, Honored Worker of Physical Culture A.M. The problems of the body's age-related resistance to the influence of environmental factors (mainly the influence of muscle load) were studied by N.A. Fomin, B.C. Bokovets, Yu.V. Katukov, I.A. Shklovsky, B.B. Sharov.

In the last three decades, the attention of the scientists of the faculty was attracted by the problems of the methods of sports training; physiological mechanisms of development of physical qualities and the formation of specific states of an athlete - fitness and the phase of the highest functional readiness - sports form (N.M. Gorokhov, V.P. Voroshnin). During these years, immunity was studied in conjunction with muscle load (N.A. Fomin, V.N. Volkov), the development of the Olympic movement in the South Urals (Yu.M. About the university

About the university
Ural contribution to the development of Russian sports

In the conditions of intensive development of physical culture and sports in Russia, graduates of the Ural State University of Physical Culture are becoming more and more in demand.

Success rate

First of all, UralGUPC graduates are coaches and teachers of various educational institutions. Every year, the only sports university in the Urals graduates more than 2,000 bachelors, specialists and masters in 40 sports and areas of medical and recreational work.

The latest innovations relate to the opening at the university of directions in physical rehabilitation, non-traditional methods of recovery, physical culture of the East. Also, thanks to the university, the sports industry has recently begun to replenish with specialists in the field of law, economics, management, psychology, public relations and organization of work with youth.

UralGUFK has become a powerful base for providing the industry with personnel of various kinds. At the same time, among the big pluses is the fact that specialists began to come to the country's sports industry not "from outside", but those who received higher professional education in a specialized university and, thanks to this, have the most complete understanding of its features.

Over the past years, the university has not only been among the top three sports universities in Russia, but also occupies a leading position among specialized higher educational institutions in the country. The names of its graduates are well-known, as many of them have become outstanding athletes. Not a single competition of the largest scale - both in the Soviet and Russian history- could not do without the participation of pupils of UralGUFK. Among them are hockey players Sergey Mylnikov and Sergey Makarov, speed skating leader Tatyana Sidorova, judoka Grigory Verichev, marathon runner Leonid Moseev, swimmer Albert Bakaev and many other outstanding athletes who owe their education to the Chelyabinsk "sports" university.

And among the modern world sports stars there are many university graduates: biathlete Svetlana Ishmuratova, judoka Vitaly Makarov, hockey players Dmitry Kalinin, Evgeny Malkin and Georgy Gelashvili, volleyball player Ekaterina Gamova, as well as girls from the Uralochka water polo team. It would take a very long time to list famous athletes whose names are associated not only with the high-profile victories of Russian sports, but also with the university.

One thing is clear - UralGUFK has not lost its positions over the years and multiplies the traditions established back in 1970, when the university appeared in Chelyabinsk as a branch of the Omsk State Institute of Physical Culture. Five years later, the university not only became independent, but also declared itself as an educational institution with great potential for training specialists in the field of sports. Today, more than 250 students of the university are in the national teams of Russia.

Of course, from the first one that came across young man to raise an outstanding athlete will not work. But those who were able to pass the “sieve”, having successfully passed the exams for admission to the Ural State University of Physical Culture, have every chance of making an enviable career in the sports industry. The secret of educating professional athletes lies not only in modern approaches to educational process. As befits in sports, students at UralSUPC from the first year are set up to win - and above all, in their studies.

The university united several structural divisions: Chelyabinsk College of Physical Education, Chelyabinsk Center of the Ural Branch Russian Academy education and the Intersectoral Regional Center for Advanced Training and Professional Retraining of Physical Education Personnel. A large scientific and educational complex, which is now the Ural State University of Physical Culture, provides the learning process from pre-university training to advanced training for graduates. Today, university graduates work in sports organizations, educational institutions and other enterprises not only in the Urals Federal District, but also in the Kama region, Kazakhstan, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan and other regions of Russia and the CIS countries.

Tasks of high importance

Of course, the students themselves take part in the research activities of UralGUPC. As a rule, they represent the university at various conferences, competitions and olympiads at the city, regional and district level. The university management supports the motivation of students for research activities and, in general, for mastering knowledge, creating the most favorable conditions for them both for study and for leisure.

Thus, freshmen from the first days of study are trying to adapt to the university as quickly as possible and include them in active student life. In 2006, a new hostel building with 535 beds was opened for future sports specialists. For the organization of youth leisure in the UralGUPC there are a variety of creative teams, ranging from a traditional vocal ensemble to a sports dance studio.

But the main thing that students are set up for at a “sports” university is, of course, study. A dozen and a half of the best students of UralGUPC, as part of the meeting of excellent students of sports universities in Russia, annually rest in the resorts of Cyprus and Turkey. So the incentive to study and lead a healthy lifestyle at the Ural State University of Physical Education is significant. And, given the specialization of the university, sports and health work is one of the highest priorities here. Since the sports industry is associated with health, an athlete in the understanding of the layman personifies not only the desire for self-improvement, but also a healthy lifestyle to achieve the highest results. Therefore, he should be an example to those who are just going to join the sport.

The successes of modern Russian athletes are now associated with raising the prestige of Russia at the world level, therefore great expectations not only from the fans, but also from the state. And for this, the country creates the necessary conditions for athletes within the framework of an improving sports industry. She, in turn, must own the latest scientific developments and be staffed by professionals. Ural State University of Physical Culture makes a significant contribution to the fulfillment of this, without exaggeration, nationwide task.

The department of physical culture is equipped gym with modern simulators, rooms for step aerobics and health gymnastics have been prepared, in which more than 1,500 students are taught and trained.

The department has sports groups in aerobics, athletic gymnastics, athletics and team sports (volleyball, basketball, football). Combined teams of the institute participate in the city sports day among universities, as well as in regional athletics competitions, "Ski Track of Russia".

The combined team of the institute in step aerobics "Jive", prepared by trainer-teacher I. A. Vlasova, is the finalist of the Russian Championship, the repeated winner of city, regional competitions, the Ural Federal District championships in step aerobics.

The Department of Physical Culture carries out significant sports and mass work. In order to stimulate work on priority sports, a calendar of sports competitions of the Institute, estimates of competitions were compiled, which took into account worthy material incentives for student winners and prize-winners of competitions. At the end of each school year 20 best athletes of the institute are determined, who are awarded by the rector with valuable gifts. Scholarship is awarded annually for sports achivments» to the best athletes of the Institute.

Fitness trophies and fitness days are organized in the open area. Cups of the rector in football, cross-country, powerlifting were established.

The department twice a year holds sports holidays for students and "Health Days" for teachers, staff and members of their families.

University students actively manifest themselves in research activities. As a rule, they represent the university at various conferences, competitions and olympiads at city, regional, all-Russian and even international levels.

The leadership of UralGUPC supports the motivation of students to acquire knowledge, creating favorable conditions for learning and organizing leisure activities. Thus, a variety of creative teams are open for young people, and there is a developed incentive system for the most talented and active students, excellent students. This is a holiday for ski resorts of the Southern Urals, meetings of excellent students in Turkey, increased scholarships, as well as the annual submission to the scholarships of the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, the Administration of Chelyabinsk and the Chelyabinsk City Duma. To date, a system has been built on the basis of the university continuing education in the field of physical culture and sports. The stage of secondary vocational education is represented by the Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg colleges of physical culture. At the stage of higher professional education, bachelors, specialists and masters are being trained at 4 faculties and more than 30 departments. The postgraduate stage is associated with training at the Intersectoral Regional Center for Advanced Studies, high school trainers, postgraduate and doctoral studies. Thus, UralSUPC provides the learning process from pre-university training to advanced training of graduates.
