World Wildlife Day. World Environment Day is an important holiday. How is the holiday going?

The decision to celebrate this day was made at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly on December 20, 2013.

The date was not chosen by chance: on this day in 1973 the Convention on international trade species wild fauna and flora (CITES).

world day wildlife provides an opportunity to highlight the diversity and beauty of wild fauna and flora, and helps raise awareness of the human benefits of conservation. The Day also reminds us of the need to strengthen the fight against wildlife crime, which has far-reaching economic, environmental and social consequences.

There are approximately 5,600 animal species and 30,000 plant species protected by CITES. They are listed in three CITES Appendices and grouped according to their level of extinction risk.

The Appendices include entire groups of animals, such as primates, cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises), sea turtles, parrots, corals, cacti and orchids and others, as well as subspecies or geographically isolated populations.

The most vulnerable animal species of the Russian fauna include, first of all: the Amur tiger, leopard, Snow Leopard, polar bear And large species falcons (golden eagle, gyrfalcon, saker falcon, peregrine falcon), used as birds of prey, as well as certain valuable species of fish.

Given the insufficient measures to combat poaching, it annually causes damage to the state amounting to over 19 billion rubles.

The total damage from illegal tiger hunting is up to 25 million rubles. Thus, according to various estimates, from 30 to 50 tigers are killed illegally per year. Illegal hunting of bird species such as the gyrfalcon, saker falcon, and peregrine falcon ranges from 1,000 to 1,200 individuals per year.

The estimated damage from illegal poultry hunting is about 240 million rubles.

According to the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Sergei Donskoy, about 50 thousand violations in the field of illegal trade rare and endangered species of animals, which is a tenth of their total number.

In Russia, significant legislative amendments were adopted in 2013, which tightened penalties for the hunting and trafficking of animals listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and the CITES Appendix. Criminal liability has been introduced not only for illegal hunting, but also, for the first time, for illegal trafficking in especially valuable wild animals, including Amur tiger, Far Eastern leopard and others rare species, including their storage, transportation and sale. In addition, administrative responsibility for the destruction of rare and endangered species of animals and plants has been tightened.

world day environment(World Environment Day), the largest annual event dedicated to nature conservation, is celebrated on June 5 - the UN General Assembly established the holiday in 1972.

World Environment Day is the most important day for raising awareness of environmental issues, which since its inception has become a global information platform and is widely celebrated in more than a hundred countries around the world.

Story

The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance - on this day the UN Conference on Problems of the Human Environment opened in Stockholm (Sweden).

The conference adopted a declaration containing 26 principles that should guide all states in their activities aimed at protecting the environment and rational use natural resources.

It was 45 years ago that it was first proclaimed that the protection and improvement of the environment for current and future generations is the primary task of humanity. And seven months later, the UN Environment Program (UNEP) was approved by a resolution of the UN General Assembly.

UNEP, being the main UN body in the field of the environment, develops a global environmental program and promotes the implementation of the environmental component sustainable development within the UN system, advocates natural environment globe.

Board of Governors - governing body UNEP, made up of representatives from 58 countries, meets annually. The programs are financed by the Environment Fund, which is made up of voluntary contributions from governments, trust funds and small allocations from the UN regular budget.

Why was the holiday established?

Human activities have a detrimental effect on living organisms, plants, landscapes, water bodies - the soil, atmosphere, rivers and seas are polluted, and human health, economic prosperity, and quality of life directly depend on the environment.

And to attract the attention of governments, society, industrial enterprises to current environmental problems, created this international holiday.

World Environment Day is one of the UN's main ways to raise global awareness of environmental issues and stimulate political interest and action.

Environmental protection is a system of state and public measures that are aimed at the harmonious interaction of society and nature, the preservation and reproduction of existing ecological communities and natural resources for the sake of living and future generations.

Today ecological problems They are among the most important and determine the level of well-being of the entire world civilization.

Often the gifts of nature are difficult to value in monetary terms. Like clean air, they are sometimes taken for granted, at least until they run out.

However, economists are developing ways to estimate the multibillion-dollar value of many so-called “ecosystem services”: from the benefits of pollinating insects fruit trees in the gardens of California, to the relaxation, health and spiritual cleansing of a trek to the Himalayan valley.

Where is it celebrated?

Every year there are official celebrations in honor of world day environment are carried out in different countries. The attention paid to the host country helps highlight the environmental problems it faces and supports efforts to address them.

In 2017, Canada took up the baton of celebration - World Environment Day became an important part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the country's founding. As part of the celebrations, Canada is offering free entry to all of its national parks throughout 2017.

Overall, more than 1,288 events were planned around the world in 2017. Canada, where the main events were held, chose the theme of the day for 2017 - “Man and nature: unity in the city, on earth, from the poles to the equator.”

The theme is dedicated to the unity of man with nature, encourages us to appreciate its importance and protect our common planet Earth, and also invites us to think about why we are part of nature and our dependence on it.

As noted

Traditionally, on this day, landscaping activities are carried out, trees and shrubs are planted, and garbage is removed. The purpose of the events is to remind people that everyone can contribute to the protection of the environment, take care of our common planet and a secure green future for the world.

Since the celebration began in 1972, thousands of people in many countries have carried out activities ranging from cleaning up around their homes, planting trees, and ending with the fight against wildlife crime.

Conferences are held on this day round tables, presentations, drawing competitions, colorful shows and performances and so on. Environmental organizations carry out actions - figures social movements attract people's attention to current issues environmental issues through demonstrations, protests and flash mobs.

Educational lectures, seminars, thematic classes, hearings are being held on reducing emissions of pollutants. IN educational institutions Discusses ways to carefully manage natural resources.

Documentary and feature films about nature are broadcast on television. On this day, people who have made significant contributions to protecting the environment are always honored.

Representatives participate in the events government agencies, charitable organizations, social movements, foundations, scientists, researchers, specialists in the field environmental safety, teachers of specialized specialties at universities, students, and so on.

In protected areas - reserves and national parks excursions, environmental education programs and environmental actions. All events are aimed at educating the public on environmental issues, awakening people’s desire to preserve and protect flora and fauna.

On World Environment Day, environmental events and campaigns are held in more than 100 countries around the world.

Various events on the occasion of World Environment Day will be held in Georgia, including a grand cleaning campaign throughout the country.

Man actively uses the resources of the planet on which he lives. Its activities seriously harm the environment, spoil the ecology, and lead to the extinction of entire species of wild animals. To draw attention to these problems, there is an international holiday, which is celebrated on the third of March. This is exactly the day that everyone who is interested in the present and future of wildlife pays attention to. Competent execution This holiday allows ordinary citizens to understand that the safety of the world around them depends on their simple actions.

history of the holiday

In 2013, the United Nations General Assembly made a valuable decision to start celebrating this day to increase public awareness of wildlife issues. This holiday was timed to coincide with the date of adoption of one of the most important documents in the field of animal protection, concerning trade in species of wild fauna and flora that were threatened with destruction. One of the most important steps towards establishing such a date was the Conference of the Parties to CITES, held in 2013.

It was there that the participants decided to establish this holiday and approached the UN with this proposal, where it was approved. Russia is also a member of CITES, which is why we hold relevant events. All this suggests that the authorities and the public in the Russian Federation were and remain interested in preserving the fauna

The emergence of this holiday is explained by the understanding of the need to preserve animals, of which there are very few left now. This especially applies to those of our smaller brothers who are already listed in the Red Book. I would like to hope that the combined efforts of citizens around the world will save the lives of many living beings.

“On this World Wildlife Day, I call on all citizens, businesses and governments to play their part in protecting our world's wild animals and plants. The actions of each of us will determine the fate of the world's wildlife. The future of wildlife is in our hands!”

(From the message Secretary General UN Ban Ki-moon December 20, 2013 UN General Assembly)

On December 20, 2013, the UN General Assembly decided (resolution A/RES/68/205) to proclaim March 3 as World Wildlife Day, in order to increase knowledge of the wider world public about wild fauna and flora.

This event became a separate milestone in the history of the UN - a date dedicated to the conservation and protection of wildlife appeared in the human calendar.

The same year marked the 40th anniversary of the adoption of another important document in the field of protecting natural diversity. It was called the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. The document's birthday was March 3, 1973.

The birth of World Wildlife Day within the UN was preceded by the initiative of the participants of the Conference of the Parties to CITES, held in Thailand in the spring of 2013. It is necessary to clarify that this meeting is held between representatives of countries that signed the Convention of March 3, 1973. It was at this Conference that it was proposed to announce March 3 World Day wildlife.

With this proposal, the participants of the Conference turned to the United Nations, presenting there the results of the Conference itself. Participation in the 1973 Convention was not mandatory, but countries that signed it are required to comply with the conditions specified in this document. It should be noted that 180 countries are parties to the Convention. The USSR joined the CITES participants in 1976, and Russia, being the legal successor Soviet Union– in 1992.

The main goal of the holiday is to draw the attention of citizens and authorities to the fragile beauty and diversity of wild nature, and once again remind them of the importance of caring for what can irrevocably disappear from the face of the Earth.

Currently, more than 28 thousand species of plants and more than 5 thousand representatives of the animal world are protected. The holiday is also called Once again draw attention to the growing problem of poaching, which annually destroys invaluable wildlife for the purpose of short-term profit

Let's take a look at the calendar, but not a simple one, but an ecological one. Let's find out what holiday Nature celebrates.

World Wildlife Day.

2. Topic message

What do you think we will talk about?

The theme of our event is “Wildlife”.

3 . Setting a goal

We will talk about what animals live in the forest, how they live, and how to behave in nature.

4. Vocabulary work

What's happened "ecology "? You know?

Ecology – the science that studies the life of organisms in the environment.

Let's read the word together.

-..., read the word.

5. Conversation on the topic

our planet

There is one garden planet
In this cold space.
Only here the forests are noisy,
Calling migratory birds,

Only on her alone do they bloom,
Lilies of the valley in the green grass,
And dragonflies are only here
They look into the river in surprise.

Take care of your planet -
After all, there is no other one like it!

(Ya. Akim)

- It is unfortunate thatnature doesn't know how to talk. But if she could, what would she tell people?

Help!Protect the environment!Especially plants!Especially water!

Especially animals!

Explain why Nature can say this?

Children's answers

- I'm sure there is no person who will say "I don't like nature." Everyone understands that loving Nature means……..?

Children's answers

There is so much beauty in nature!

There is so much beauty in nature
Take a closer look and you will understand
Why dewy bushes
Trembling envelops me.

Where does the babbling stream run?
Transparent than glass
What about in the evening, in a field of rye,
The quails are singing...

Let it become to your heart
Bird speech is clear
And you will learn that
How to take care of it all.

(V. Chizhov)

Guys, we say NATURE, but what is it?

Children's answers

You and I know that FOREST is not just a word. How important is he to us?

Children's answers

Forest- our friend!

And not immediately, and not suddenly,
We learned: the FOREST is our friend.
There is no oxygen without the FOREST,
All nature will fade away at once,
We can't breathe without him
And no one will help us.
The winds will blow away the harvest
And then – forgive me, goodbye!
Our rivers will become shallow,
They will dry out forever
All the animals will get sick
Up to a small hole.
Without the FOREST there is no medicine for us,
There will be no food on the tables.
Then the planet will disappear,
It pains me to write all this.
And therefore, friends,
I urge all of you:
Take care of every bush,
Don't light fires unnecessarily,
Appreciate every blade of grass
And there’s a little rain on the leaf.
Let's save the FOREST from fire
For you and for me.
Living beauty - FOREST,
Let it grow to the skies!
(N. Filimonenko )

We have already had conversations about how to behave in the forest. Remind me!

Children's answers

1. To keep the forest clean, do not leave trash behind, always take it with you. Due to garbage, nature becomes uninhabitable for animals.2. To prevent a fire in the forest, do not leave a burning fire there. A fire will lead to the death of all living things.3. Don't make noise in the forest. Screams and loud music scare animals and birds.4. Be a friend of animals, do not destroy bird nests, anthills, animal holes; animals may be left without a home.5. To make the forest and lawns beautiful, do not trample the grass, walk along the paths.6. Do not break branches, trees and bushes, do not tear flowers by the roots.

Warm-up

SQUIRREL

The squirrel is a wonderful, agile forest animal. Prefers to eat plant foods: mushrooms, berries, tree fruits, nuts, and acorns. At the end of summer and autumn, the squirrel makes reserves. By burying nuts in the ground for the winter, the squirrel safely forgets about them, and new trees appear from the sprouted seeds. The squirrel's main pride is its magnificent fluffy tail. Having fluffed its tail, the squirrel easily and freely flies from branch to branch, from tree to tree and controls its tail like a steering wheel. The squirrel takes care of its tail, constantly cleans it, and in damp weather it tries to hide in the nest so as not to get it wet.

HEDGEHOG

Kolobok is a prickly side. The hedgehog has many prickly, sharp needles on its back. With them he protects himself from enemies. During the day, hedgehogs sleep, crawling into a hole or hiding in dense bushes. And they go out in search of prey in the evening. Loves to eat insects, snakes, toads, frogs, snails, mice, snakes, strawberries, raspberries.

In the fall, the hedgehog begins to prepare for winter. He eats a lot and accumulates fat reserves for hibernation. It digs a hole for itself under the roots of trees, under a stump or a heap of branches. The hedgehog drags dry leaves, grass, moss into the hole and goes to bed until spring. And in the spring, hedgehogs are born - blind, deaf and without teeth. Their needles are soft, like fur. But a little time will pass, the babies’ eyes will open, hearing will appear, and teeth will grow. The hedgehogs will grow up and begin to leave their house.

FOX

A real beauty. She has a warm red fur coat. Narrow, curious muzzle. The red-haired “cheat” prefers to live not in a dense forest, but closer to the edge. Or where there are fields, ravines, small copses. The fox's main food is mice. The fox also hunts hares, catches birds, and destroys their nests. Will not refuse beetles and other insects. Will happily swallow a frog, lizard or snake. The fox loves to eat berries, fruits, and some plants.

A fox digs a hole to breed. But she doesn’t want to work herself, and she often takes over other people’s holes. Fox cubs are born blind, deaf and toothless. The fox feeds them with milk. And soon the foxes both see and hear. And their teeth are cutting through. Grown-up fox cubs do not sit in the hole for a long time. They are interested in exploring the world. But as soon as the fox barks, the fox cubs quickly hide in the hole. Or they run to mom. Foxes do not gather in packs; they prefer to live alone.

WOLF

The wolf is a forest dweller. He is smart, brave and strong beast. Runs fast and swims well. IN winter time wolves flock together. The leader of the pack is an unquestioned authority; he is the strongest and most experienced wolf. It is he who takes “his” out hunting.

Wolves - caring parents. Wolf puppies are born blind and deaf. The she-wolf feeds them with milk, and in case of danger, moves them to a new place. A wolf's lair can be found in thickets of bushes, in ravines, under the roots of fallen trees. Parents bring live prey to grown wolf cubs. The wolf cubs play with her and learn to hunt.

BEAR

The bear lives in the forest, he is big and strong. He can run quickly, almost silently, climb trees and even swim beautifully. The bear loves berries, nuts, fruits and insects, fish. IN winter period the bear does not disturb the silence of the forest, he sleeps peacefully in the den. A den - a bear's winter home - can be under the roots of a fallen tree or in a large pile of brushwood. But sometimes the bear digs its own hole. Will fill the den on top fluffy snow, there will only be a small hole left, the “brow”, for air

In the middle of winter, cubs are born in a den - small, blind. The bear feeds them milk. In the spring they emerge from the den. In addition to the she-bear, their older sister looks after the babies. She already whole year. Such a bear-nanny is called a pestun. The cubs are happy funny Games. They tumble, catch up with each other, climb trees.

HARE

Hares eat only plant foods: leaves, stems, roots, bark of young trees, fruits. They also eat mushrooms, but their favorite delicacy is aspen bark. She's for the hares sweeter than sugar. In winter, a hare changes its gray coat to white. It’s not easy to notice him now among the snowdrifts.

The first babies appear when the snow has not yet melted, the next generation - in the summer, and also in the fall, hares are born. The mother of the hare feeds the bunnies with rich milk. He will feed and go about his business. And the bunnies will hide, their ears will be pressed down - you won’t even see them. If the mother stays late at work, another hare can feed them. The bunnies grow quickly and will soon become independent.

Game "Collect the picture"

The class is divided into teams (2,3). Each team is given an envelope containing parts of the pictures. From the presented parts you need to assemble a whole picture.

5. Reinforcing the topic

Living Primer

Us at any time of the year
Wise nature teaches:
Birds teach singing.

A spider of patience.
Bees in the field and in the garden
They teach us how to work.
And besides, in their work
Everything is fair.
Reflection in water
Teaches us truthfulness.
Snow teaches us purity.
The sun teaches kindness:
Every day, winter and summer,
Gives us warmth and light.
And in return no one
He won't ask for anything!
Nature has it all year round
You need to study.
We are trees of all species,
All the great forest people
They teach strong friendship.
(V. Orlov)

Let's express our friendship with nature in a memo. Let's write an "Environmental Leaflet" and distribute it in our village.

(Children offer their versions, the teacher coordinates.)

"Environmental reminder"

Don't throw garbage, this is a home for animals and birds;

Do not break the glass, you will injure yourself and harm the inhabitants of the forest;

You cannot make noise in the forest: shout, listen to loud music, such behavior causes anxiety among forest inhabitants;

Do not harm wild animals, they are dangerous when enraged.

Reflective-evaluative stage

What was the topic of our lesson?

The topic of our lesson: “Wildlife”

What new have you learned?

We learned….

Were you interested?

If you were interested, choose a bright one from the proposed birds; if you didn’t like it, choose a dark one.

Feed the birds, people!

Feed the birds, people:
Waxwings and tits,
Sparrows and bullfinches.
Feed them quickly!

There were so that the birds always
Grains, seeds, water,
They knew that they were loved and waited for,
And they will always find shelter.

I suggest going to our school garden and feeding the birds. There are feeders hanging on the trees, let's fill them. Let's help the birds!

You all worked well today, answered questions, and reasoned. Well done! Thank you all, I present each one with an “Ecologist’s Leaflet.”

Children go out to the school garden to feed the birds.
