Until the 1930s, he had no secondary educational institutions. Only in 1839. with the money collected by the merchants, the nobility and officials, two schools were opened in the city at once - the county and the parish. In October 1862 at the Birsk district school, a pedagogical class was opened, which, according to the Ufa researcher T.M. Aminov, became the first pedagogical educational institution in Bashkiria. Since January 1, 1870 classes in it ceased due to the absence of those wishing to study. In 1909 pedagogical courses in Birsk were again restored. They trained teachers for Russian-foreign schools. Boys and girls of any religion, no younger than 15 and no older than 22 years old, with a certificate of graduation from an educational institution not lower than a two-year school, were accepted for courses. In October 1881 State Council Russian Empire approved the decision: "To establish a teacher's school in the city of Birsk, Ufa province ...".
