Information Day at the school library

Information Day is a complex event in the system of information and reference and bibliographic work.

DI goals:

present readers with literature on a specific topic;

To acquaint with the literature received by the library for a certain period.

It is good if Information Days are held systematically (for example, once every 1-2 months). During the DI, the librarian conducts a more complete acquaintance of various categories of readers with new receipts of literature or documentation. Moreover, groups of students can be small (for example, subject teachers, class teachers, educators, school administrators, etc.). Duration of CI may vary from 1 to 3 days.

Usually, DI includes :

· exhibitions and selections of literature received by the library for a certain period;

· exhibitions of reference and bibliographic publications, as well as bibliographic manuals of small forms;

bibliographic reviews;

conversations;

· consultations of experts.

The scenario of Information Day for students may also include reading selected stories or poems from books presented at the exhibition, a small quiz made up of questions that the exhibited books will help answer. Subject teachers can be invited to DI to help the librarian talk about literature on a particular topic, evaluate its merits, and determine which books the attention of school readers should be focused on. Such joint work of the librarian and teachers contributes to the collective analysis of current literature, the establishment of relationships in the work of the teaching staff and the library.

It is desirable to plan and conduct information days for teachers taking into account the wishes of the school administration. When holding a thematic Day of Information, it is necessary to reveal the topic as fully as possible not only with the help of literature and materials from the periodicals of the school library, but also to use the possibilities of the book collections of the village libraries, the center for the development of education, the Internet.

Information Day is announced in advance: in announcements, posters or invitation cards. It is important to remember that the more active the advertising of your event, the more participants will gather Information Day.

    In continuation, read the material in the women's online magazine about the flower of female happiness

    Hello, dear, dear, faithful friends of our library! You are indeed our faithful friends, you are not afraid of cold, heat, snow, wind or rain. In any weather, you boldly step into the library. She is always waiting for you and meets you joyfully, with warmth and cordiality of employees, new arrivals of literature, interesting public events.

    Today the library must choose its most faithful friend. It will be the one who knows more about the library itself, about periodicals, in general, the one who answers more questions and receives more tokens during our entire meeting.

    So let's start our conversation. In the Armizonsky district, the CLS was created. Who knows what it is?
    (Answer: Centralized Library System)
    And who will say in what year this significant event took place?
    (Answer: In 1977)

    The CLS unites 12 libraries: 11 rural and one central district library with a children's department. I think you will be interested to know some of the results of 2011. Of course, the year was difficult, but fruitful. All indicators of our work (with the exception of paid services) is higher than in 2010. Even the number of readers is 10 more, despite the fact that many reading families leave the area and, in addition, the death rate is high in the area. We have 5.5 thousand readers. The book fund is more than 97 thousand copies and more than 750 copies of periodicals. Last year, more than 235,000 books, newspapers and magazines were issued to readers. For comparison - in 2010 - only 207 thousand. That is, each reader took 42 copies of literature in a year, or 3 editions per month. This is a good indicator.

    Last year, the departments functioning in the library changed a little, new employees came to us. Here's what it looks like in this moment: there are 4 departments in the library. Adult Readers Service Department (G. A. Ugryumova, O. N. Grudeva, A. S. Pecherina); children's department (V. A. Lukashchuk, N. F. Pecherina); procurement department (G. P. Gorbunova, V. V. Markov); information and legal department (N. O. Zhiryakova, E. V. Maul).
    Probably, you will be interested to know that our system has its own website armbibl.ucoz.ru on the Internet. On it we place our work plans, information about the events held, photos and other useful information.
    The library has a shared Internet access point, which you can use free of charge during the library's opening hours.

    The libraries of our system (including the regional one) are expanding their functions and the range of services provided, both paid and free. Information about library services can be found in Reader's Corner.
    The main direction of the library's work is to provide the population with information services through existing library documents, including through periodicals.
    The flow of information, constantly received and consumed by all of us, has become not only important for a civilized person, but also vital.

    Let's remember what is included in this diverse world called the media?
    (Answers)
    Yes, this is the press - periodicals of the newspaper and magazine type and audiovisual media - radio and television.

    Today we will talk about the first component and to me, as a librarian, which seems to be the most important - the periodical press.
    It is very difficult, almost impossible, to imagine all these periodicals. Because the modern press is thousands of publications, different in subject matter, purpose, program, frequency, circulation, distribution region.

    What two divisions can we divide the entire press into?
    (Answer: Newspapers and magazines)
    Correctly. What is the difference between a newspaper and a magazine?
    The newspaper has greater efficiency, greater versatility, it is more informative and is a sheet edition.
    The magazine is more analytical (i.e. analyzes events) and publicistic. Magazines, according to the State Standard, must be bound, i.e. printed sheets fastened in a box.

    Let's take a mental excursion into the history of the press...

    The newspaper is the history of the world in one day. It is difficult to come up with a better definition for this type of periodical.
    The very word "newspaper" is traditionally associated with the name of the Italian coin - gazzeta.
    In the middle of the 16th century, it served as payment for leaflets that informed Venetian merchants of trade news. The history of newspaper business dates back to 1609, when newspapers were published once a week in Germany.
    The first Russian newspaper, Chimes, appeared in 1621. True, it was handwritten, and only the tsar and the boyars read it.
    The magazine is almost half a century younger than the newspaper. It was in 1665 in Paris when the first issue of the edition came out. A lot of time has passed since then.
    According to the distribution region, the press can be divided into three large groups: national, regional, local.
    The press can be designed either for the majority of potential readers, or for a specific group.
    By thematic direction The press can be divided into the following topics: health, sports, technology, science.
    Newspapers and magazines have different periodicity. Strict periodicity is one of the most important characteristics MEDIA. Some publications come out every day, others once a week, some once a month.
    On the front page are placed the most important materials, sensational photographs. What draws your attention? Well, of course, the title. His the main task- to hold our attention, to intrigue. Sometimes the title is followed by a short italicized text that precedes the material. This is the cut. Usually it is a slogan, quote or comment, sometimes summary material that determines whether the reader will read this material.
    After all, when reading periodicals, we choose only what is interesting to us, so the headline and the cut try to interest us. Under the heading "Today in the issue" are the most important topics of the issue. Sometimes newspapers and magazines have sheets that are called tabs. An insert is a publication within a publication, it can be removed from the newspaper without violating the integrity of the publication (TV program).
    Solid text on a wide newspaper or magazine page would be inconvenient to read. Therefore, in publishing practice, it is customary to break it into several columns - vertical columns.
    Each publication prints output data containing information about the publisher, editor-in-chief, publication frequency, circulation, etc. Each newspaper and each magazine has its own permanent headings - sections. The rubric has its place and design
    Now we invite you to get acquainted with the periodicals presented on the shelves.

    So, our library subscribes to 94 periodicals. Of these, 37 newspapers and 57 magazines.
    All of you are our regular readers and you know what magazines and newspapers we subscribe to. Of course, this list is not permanent. Adjustments are made according to your interests.

    For example, once we subscribed to the magazine "Caravan of stories". He was in demand among middle-aged women. Then suddenly ceased to be in demand. But when there were no new issues of the magazine, suddenly there was a demand for it. And since this half of the year on our shelves - your old friend magazine "Caravan of stories".

    Pay attention to the new magazines: "Dasha", "All for a Woman", "Hunting and Fishing: XXI Century".

    1. The newspaper should imagine the permanent arrangement of materials, domestic and international.

    2. Viewing a newspaper should begin with an editorial. Its place is on the left or at the top of the first page. The cutting edge is the pulse of today. It will tell you about the priorities and problems of the country, science, technology, cultural life. The title of an editorial always clearly indicates its topic.

    3. Next - a general review of the newspaper. Its technology is similar to viewing a book, only rubrics and headings serve as a table of contents-guide. Comparing the title of an article with the heading under which it is placed, it is almost always possible to say the topic of an essay, feuilleton, reportage, information. A subheading will help clarify this topic.

    4. Are you interested? - read.

    5. What you read should certainly work - help in professional activity or just in conversation.

    6. There is not a single issue of the magazine that does not tell about something necessary, interesting. You need to be able to see these materials, read them. Regular reading of newspapers and magazines will allow you to be knowledgeable people who can always tell about what is happening in the world, in our country.

    7. How to accustom yourself to reading periodicals? At first, force yourself to read at least all the headlines on all the pages of the newspaper. Surely one or two of them will grab your attention. Read the articles under these headings. There are already one or two topics with which you are familiar. If you can continue to force yourself to follow them, then you will not only get acquainted with the opinions of others on the issue that interests you, but you will be able to form your own.

    8. There is one - the only one, required condition development of interest in the newspaper, magazine. This is a sequence, a regularity of reading.

    Quiz questions:

    1. What is PERIODICALS?
    2. What is a newspaper?
    3. How is a magazine different from a newspaper?
    4. How is a magazine different from a book?
    5. Name the regional periodicals.
    6. What is the name of our regional newspaper? When does it come out to readers?
    7. Tell us about your favorite magazine or newspaper.
    8. What departments are there in our library?
    9. How many libraries are there in the CLS?
    10. What is the book stock of all libraries in the system?
    11. How many readers do we have?
    12. Well, how many copies of literature were issued in 2010?

    Thanks everyone for the replies. And the most faithful friend who knows almost everything about the library turned out to be _______________________!

    Well. Now you can go to the shelves, select the newspapers and magazines that interest you, write them down in your form, come home, sit in your favorite chair, turn on the table lamp and enjoy reading!

    AND THE LIBRARY, BECOMING YOUR FRIEND FOREVER, WILL LOOK FORWARD TO YOU!

Access mode: (date of access:) The main forms of bibliographic information without specific requests are Information Days. The purpose of Information Days is the widest possible and multifaceted disclosure of library resources. Information Day is a complex form of bibliographic information, designed for a diverse readership. Information Day can be universal, that is, completely dedicated to new products, and in this case, all publications received during a certain period (1-2 months) in all branches of knowledge, including information and bibliographic, audio-video materials, compact disks and more. For example, "Library news". Information Days can also be thematic, i.e. dedicated to a particular topic. For example, “Your applicants”, “Family, society, law”, “Ecology and modernity”, “ Nobel laureates» and others. The frequency of the Information Day depends on the amount of incoming literature: with a small amount of receipts, it is organized once a month. It is recommended to hold Days of Information in public libraries 6-10 times a year. The Central Library exhibits all the new literature received during the month (in all branches of knowledge, publications different types and appointments, including periodicals and bibliographic publications), and branches acquaint them with new literature received by their funds. DIs should be held regularly, at a certain time, and everyone can attend them. The library notifies readers, as well as interested organizations and institutions, in advance about the place and time of their holding. 13 2

    4 Stages of preparation and holding of information day: 1. Determine the theme, goals and objectives. 2. Determine the location of the Information Day (it can be held for one institution, organization, firm, have a district, city character, take place on the basis of a library or be on the road). 3. Draw up a plan (program) for the event. 4. Identify and deliver documents from the relevant sections of the library. 5. View and select documents. 6. Prepare and arrange an exhibition of literature, write brief annotations. 7. Prepare a review or invite specialist consultants. 8. Notify interested organizations, readers (announcement, poster, e-mail). 9. Organize the collection of applications for documents, their issuance. 10. Analyze the event. The DI program may include: - an exhibition-view of new arrivals; - bibliographic review; - conversations on books; - viewing video materials; - advice on how to follow new editions and publications; - the procedure for issuing literature in the library. 3 Forms of work used in the program of Information Days: - exhibitions-views on topics; - exhibition-views by genre; - exhibitions-views by types of publications; Used electronic resources: 1. 5 It is possible to discuss the IA with colleagues and guests. You can summarize the experience of working in the media. It is also possible for feedback, make a Questionnaire for the Information Day participant to find out the effectiveness of this event. Questionnaire for the Information Day 1. Date: 2. Are you satisfied with the quantity and quality? 3. Were you interested in the literature presented at the event? 4. What book did you immediately want to read? 5. What, in your opinion, was not mentioned during the Information Day? 6. Your wishes and suggestions. The criteria for evaluating the Information Day are: - informative; - industry, fiction, periodicals and electronic publications; - special, educational information; - systematization and methods of presenting the material; - satisfaction of information requests of users; - ability to work with information; - a combination of traditional and innovative forms; - the presence of a creative approach. I wish you success! - exhibitions of one edition or one thematic series; - premieres of new editions in the form of reviews-representations; - presentations of electronic publications and databases; - meetings with authors of books, publishing houses; - bibliographic reviews; - conversations; - bookmarks; - lessons of information culture with teaching the skills of independent search for the necessary information. Sometimes pass themed days information for individual groups of users interested in a specific issue. The chronological coverage of materials in this case will be much wider than the day of information about new products. Thinking through the program, each library should take into account: - the leading theme in the work of the library; - leading themes of the year; - reading groups; - Composition of the book fund of the library. How to spend the Day of information on ecology. Stage 1: Determine the topic, goal, task of the CI. We start the work on the preparation of DI with the definition of the topic, goal and task. In this version, we take into account the leading theme of the year - that is, 2017 is declared the Year of Ecology, which means that the theme of our DI will be: Ecology. The objectives of the CI are to foster an ecological culture and respect for nature and to attract new readers. CI Challenge: Reveal All Resources environmental knowledge available in the library, including the Internet. 11 4

    6 Step 2: Specify the audience and location of the SIA. On the present stage development of society great value attached to problem solving environmental education. In the work on the education of environmental culture, emphasis should be placed on young readers who are in the formation stage. life values. Basically, we all work with students, so the audience for CI will consist of students from a particular school and grade. Naturally, we prefer to hold events in our library, so the library will be our venue. Stage 3: Draw up a plan for conducting (program) IA. After defining the goals and objectives of the DI, we begin to develop its program. First you need to come up with a name for the DI. For example, it can be called: "Protect this land"; "To live in harmony with nature"; "Protect the Earth you live on"; "Nature. Ecology. Man"; "Nature's lifeline"; “We destroy the planet, we destroy ourselves”; "Ecology: concerns and hopes"; “This land is yours and mine”, etc. Exhibitions and bibliographic reviews remain the main forms of disclosure of funds in CI. For example, the CI program may include: - a conversation “To earthlings a clean planet!”; - exhibition-view: "Nature is our common Home»; - a review of the literature "Ecology for all", or, an eco-review of the sites " useful links on ecology"; - screening of the short film "The Smile of Nature"; 5 The analysis of the event is proposed to be carried out according to the following scheme: 1. Theme, title. 2. Purpose. 3. Venue. 4. Participants (number, composition, etc.). 5. Who conducts. 6. Form (quiz, competition, game program, gatherings, etc.). 7. Methods. 8. Quality of preparation and conduct: availability of a plan, abstracts, script; usage information material, allowances; use of active and game forms, originality of tasks; creative ideas, finds; possession of the material, methodology of the event; professionalism and erudition of leaders; accessibility of the presentation of the material; emotional atmosphere; compliance of the content of the event with the chosen form, as well as the age of participants and spectators. 9. Registration. 10. Equipment, technical means. 11. The relationship of goals, objectives, content, form, methods, techniques and results. 12. Results. Is the result (goal) achieved? 13. Introspection. Identification of the effectiveness of the event (to identify successful and unsuccessful moments). Its purpose is to contribute to the effectiveness of follow-up activities. Self-analysis can be done according to the activity analysis scheme, but in a very abbreviated form. ten

    7 You need to order the artist to design the titles and headings of the exhibition, or, if this is not possible, design it yourself using a computer. If desired, write short annotations to books. Step 8: Notify interested organizations, readers. After the program is drawn up, a system of DI advertising is developed: announcements, posters, personal invitations, e-mail. The announcement must indicate the CI program. Such advertising is especially important in the initial period of organizing Information Days. Since, for example, we have decided on the audience, since we have an environmental KVN in our program, we notify them of the day and time of the DI. Stage 9: Organize the collection of applications for documents, their issuance. Library staff organizes the collection of applications for materials that are of interest to readers and the execution of orders for photocopying, followed by the distribution of photocopies. Who has a copier. These may be applications for books from an exhibition. They also conduct consultations, pay attention to the need to get acquainted with bibliographic sources that reflect the literature of the issue. Step 10: Analyze the activity. An important condition for honing professional skills is analysis (or self-analysis), which is desirable to be carried out after each event. Its purpose is to help improve the effectiveness of educational activities and educational process generally. First, an entry should be made about the conducted DI in the “Library Diary” - section: “Accounting for mass work” and a protocol should be drawn up. Then do the analysis itself. - ecological KVN "This fragile planet"; - lists of references (thematic or lists of new arrivals on the topic of ecology). A bibliographic review of literature can be carried out both at a book exhibition and be independent. You can make an independent review of the literature on books, or, for example, open up Internet resources by conducting an eco-review of sites. Show a video, in particular, the short film "Nature's Smile", which teaches children to protect nature and not litter it, and then she will answer you with a smile. The entertainment and originality of the proposed events play an important role in attracting readers. Therefore, when conducting DI, you can also use game forms: various quizzes and contests, games, KVNs. Of course, not everyone can visit the library exactly when the DI is taking place. Therefore, lists of references (thematic or lists of new arrivals on the topic of ecology) must be present at exhibitions. Stage 4: Identify and deliver documents from the relevant sections of the library. Stage 5: Review and select documents. We are looking for the necessary literature for the exhibition and for writing a conversation and review. We make and publish thematic lists literature or lists of novelties on ecology. We are looking for the necessary short film "Nature's Smile" on the Internet. Since we invite students of any school to the DI, we agree in advance and jointly prepare for the environmental KVN “This fragile planet”. 9 6

    8 Ecological KVN "This fragile planet". Divide students into two teams: "Sun" and "Friendship". In the warm-up, you need to guess riddles about animals, guess from the description medicinal plant, correctly answer the questions of the contest "Protect Nature!", captains to decipher the name of the animal. Of course, give commands homework: prepare anti-advertising for an object that harms nature. For example: hairspray and plastic bag. Before the performance of the guys, you can show anti-advertising plastic bottles. In the work, you can use the experience of other libraries on the topic of ecology. Step 6: Prepare a review or invite specialist consultants. When creating and conducting a bibliographic review, a variety of techniques are used in the submission of a book, for example: - start the story with the most interesting; - show illustrations; - offer some intriguing questions that can be answered by reading the book; - show several other books that are similar to the recommended subject and pay attention to how this particular book differs. There is no point in retelling the annotations. About an unread book, it’s better to say something like this: “I haven’t had time to read it yet, but judging by the annotation (preface, book review), it says about., It touches on problems.” Sometimes a variety of techniques are woven into the review, up to quizzes. The question can also be asked as a rhetorical one, not requiring an immediate response from the audience. The librarian may suggest a book in which the reader will find the answer. One of the typical mistakes in a review is to talk about a book in such detail that the listener does not want to read it, everything has already been said. If we want to review sites on ecology, then we make the necessary search on the Internet and review them. If desired, you can invite specialist consultants who understand the issue of ecology. Stage 7: Prepare and design an exhibition of literature, write brief annotations. Exhibitions and open views of new acquisitions, the purpose of which is to acquaint readers with new editions of books, newspapers, magazines received by the library over a certain period of time. Due to the diversity of their readership, the universality of content, the time of operation and location, exhibitions and viewings of new acquisitions make it possible to make information about new products available to almost all readers. On this day, exhibitions of new literature are open in all departments of the library. It is also advisable to show on them publications purchased earlier, but for one reason or another, not yet in demand by readers. In contrast to the reading room, books from exhibitions and open viewings on the subscription are given to the house. The duration of viewing exhibitions is set by librarians. So, we picked up the literature at the previous stages. In our case, we took an exhibition-view: "Nature is our common home." For example, let it consist of four sections: 1. Ecology is a global problem of our time. 2. Security environment everyone's duty. 3. Help environmental education and enlightenment. 4. The world of nature on the pages of books. 7 8

    Our library commemorates every year and holds an information day every year. On this bright day in the reading room of the Intersettlement Library, an exhibition dedicated: "The greatness of the feat of the Soviet people" was organized.

    The exhibition has selected literature reflecting the events of the Great Patriotic War. Exhibited unique editions: “June 22. Black Day of the Calendar”, “Rising from the Ashes”, “Feat of the People”, “Hero Cities”. Readers were offered books about the Battle of Stalingrad, about the defense of Moscow, about the exploits of the partisans. At the exhibition, one could get acquainted with the unique collection "Courage Creating Victory", which tells about the courage and bravery of those who fought on the fronts and in the rear. This collection was created by the library staff, it contains poems of the participants of the regional competition "Courage Making History", which was held on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the victory. The place of honor at the exhibition was occupied by the historical reference book "The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", which contains memories, essays, letters, documents, photographs.

    The subscription included the book exhibition "Forties, fatal, military and front-line" dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It featured works of art dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, literature about military and labor exploits of people at the front and in the rear.

    As well as an exhibition - faces: "Immortal Victory - its soldiers are immortal." On which information was provided about veterans - fellow countrymen, about Chistoozertsy, who, without sparing themselves, forged the long-awaited victory.

    The fateful victory of the Russian people at all times inspired artists of different genres and trends. The interactive exhibition "They talk about the feat of the canvas" presented the works of Russian painters and illustrators dedicated to this significant event.

    And also there was a video cruise: "Annals of the Great Patriotic War - works of painters." On which one could not only admire the paintings, but also learn about the artist who created this masterpiece.

    All those who attended the information day were given a leaflet-memory: "On May 9, the memory of the dead is a legacy to the living" and a recommendatory list of literature: "The sacred pages of war." "Memory of the Burning Years" was the name of the historic evening dedicated to the chronology of the Second World War.

    Videos were shown, those present in the hall were able to remember and learn about the main events and decisive battles in the Second World War. The Patriotic War is called the Great War for a reason. Its greatness lies in the feat of Soviet soldiers and officers who fought for their Motherland. All literature, poetry and prose dedicated to the Great Patriotic War - narrates, inspires and calls our people to a feat, to Victory.

    Readers who visited the Information Day were able to find out the names of those who fought for the Motherland, see examples of stamina, courage and unbending will of ordinary soldiers and officers who were able to bring the bright Victory Day closer.
