Thank you!

This year I forced my sister to go to study by correspondence at this institute. In October there was an orientation session. We re-enrolled some subjects from the course of the technical school, some in the form of a test or a control still need to be completed this year, because with the secondary special they took me straight to the 3rd year. session. I can't say anything definitive yet.

23-02-2008, 19:38

I studied at this institute for 5 years on a full-time basis, recently graduated in 2006, in general, my studies are not very stressful (depending on the subject and teacher), the main thing is not to leave tails and pay tuition on time! The first course was the most difficult for me, the information received and trips to various boarding schools, orphanages and centers for children with developmental disabilities shocked me. After graduation, I was looking for a job in my specialty for 4 months. a good place without experience they didn’t take it at all, but for 5 thousand, a couple of places could be found ... Out of 30 people who graduated, only 5 work in their specialty.

here is an absolutely stupid question - how much time does teaching take away from life in correspondence? how is it with absenteeism, etc.?

astilba

24-02-2008, 11:29

Well, it’s better to attend the session, it’s just easier to take exams / tests for those who go. We have a lot of those in the group that appear periodically, but there are tests / exams at the very least pass. Their absenteeism is reflected, basically, not on their academic performance, but on the quality of knowledge. In my opinion, this is important for a speech therapist. What really takes a lot of time in senior years is practice and term papers - it takes a lot of time to go through practices and especially to draw up documentation for them. 20 normal children and 20 pathologies, which also takes a lot of free time. But a huge plus is that term papers are the chapters of the diploma, and if you write them in good faith, then 2/3 of the diploma is also written. I'm talking about speech therapists. Psychologists, according to them In words, and so it is clear that student life is much easier. Speech therapists look like memorized nerds against the background of psychologists, we are always learning and writing something (well, these are those who really study conscientiously).

Che Guevara's daughter

24-02-2008, 11:36

thanks ... but is it possible to have more specific numbers? well, for example, a session of 24 days from 9 am to 18 pm. without going out :), practice for three weeks ... etc. I'm more interested in it ... I thought about the second highest ...

Filumena Morturano

24-02-2008, 11:40

I study at Voronezhskaya. Special psychologist (clinical specialization). Speech therapists are good, but for those who actually learn to pull the strap quite hard. In correspondence, 30% of the information is given in lectures and 70% is self-education. Which suits me perfectly. Of course, you need to read a lot, but lists of useful literature are given.
The fact that psychologists have it easier ............. I would not say.

24-02-2008, 11:46

I am a part-time student, in a week the session will end and I am in the 6th year. I will be a speech therapist. Ask questions, I will answer with pleasure.

Thank you! My sister (she already has a pedagogical education) wants to learn to be a speech therapist. Are you satisfied with the quality of education, i.e. Do you already feel like a speech therapist :) ?

I am also interested in the following:
032000 Special preschool pedagogy and psychology (teacher-defectologist for working with preschool children with developmental disabilities)

Another specialty that seemed interesting (to a lesser extent) was the following:
030302.65 Clinical psychology (Clinical psychologist)

Do you know anything about studying at the Institute of Defectologists and clinical psychologists?

Thanks again!

24-02-2008, 11:48

Thank you! Please tell us a little about the practice of clinical psychologists. Where does it go, how long does it take?

I just want to study psychology ... I already have a pedagogical education (college + university) while I studied at the university for the 4th year, consider self-education. the child was born - I didn’t take academies, but I managed to pass everything without tails and still receive a scholarship :))
tell me how long the session on psychology and practice lasts ... but do you need to look for the basis for practice yourself or what? how many exams per session? and there is no outside?
The installation session lasts 3 weeks (new rules after certification), since they freed up time for evening parties. Visits are very desirable because attendance is noted and handed over to the dean's office, and if there is no attendance, they can offer several options .....
Practice at your discretion. Either the institution provides you with the head of the practice, or you yourself find and draw up all the necessary documents. If you organize well, you can go in a couple of days.
It’s hard to say how many exams, almost always in half with credits, but always in different ways, I can’t count the credits at hand.
External student of only the fifth year on an individual schedule with mandatory payment, passing all exams, practice and coursework. :)

By the way, yes....

29-02-2008, 20:07

I have a question about the university. How about a fixed tuition fee? Does it change much for 5 lats or is it fixed at the time of admission?
Payment varies depending on the course, i.e. rises. But not much. In general, they try not to raise too much. But it will still rise, you know, as in the country ...

Learning is interesting. The teachers are awesome. As for work, as everywhere, as lucky. And a lot depends on you. I studied by correspondence, I do not regret it. I even graduated with a red diploma (I myself wonder how it happened).

Thanks for the answer. May I ask if you studied psychology? Still, how does correspondence differ from full-time (from daytime, for example)? Only by the number of lecture courses/hours directly, or are there other differences?

About the university

Non-state educational institution of higher vocational education"Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology" R. Wallenberg, established in 1993 and registered by order of the head of the Petrograd District Administration of St. Petersburg dated August 28, 1993 No. 444-14r for training specialists for correctional educational institutions, orphanages, boarding schools, shelters and centers for social rehabilitation of persons with developmental disabilities .

The founders of the Institute were the Raoul Wallenberg International Children's Fund (USA, Sweden) and the Special Olympic Committee (Russia).

The purpose of the institute is to meet the needs of Russian citizens in educational, medical, social, economic and general cultural services; assistance to the family and the child in the realization of their rights to full development and education.

The Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology is the first non-state university in Russia that specializes in training personnel for the system of special (correctional) education. The need for highly qualified personnel and research in this area has especially increased due to fundamental changes in state policy to support children and adults with disabilities.

The creation of the Institute was also dictated by the urgent need for professional personnel capable of providing qualified psychological, pedagogical and medical and social assistance to people with various psychological problems, the number of which in modern Russia is more than 25% according to the World Health Organization. The institute was the first in the country to start training special psychologists. And today it is the undisputed leader in this field. Most recently, the Institute launched the training of psychologists working in the field of child narcology, dealing with the prevention of various forms of addiction, with children at social risk, as well as with people who have become victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and violence.

Currently, more than 3,500 students from St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Vyborg, Zelenograd, Kaliningrad, Orenburg, Petrozavodsk, Severodvinsk, Tyumen, Togliatti, Novy Urengoy, Chelyabinsk, Igrim, Ufa, Sebezh, Surgut study at the Institute.
Fields of activity of the institute:

* Carrying out diagnostic and prognostic studies; development and examination of innovative projects;

* Organization and conduct scientific and practical conferences and seminars;

* Publication and distribution of popular scientific and scientific-methodical literature on topical issues general and special education.

The Institute has all the necessary licenses and certificates to conduct its activities.
Briefly about the structure (for more details, see Structure)

The institute includes:

1. Institute of Special Pedagogy and Psychology;
2. Medium general education school;
3. Postgraduate studies;
4. Research center;
5. Refresher courses;
6. Psychological and pedagogical center for the prevention of drug addiction in children and adolescents;
7. Center for Correction of Child Development;
8. Publishing complex;
9. Center for psychological assistance;
10. Fitness center.

Special psychology is one of the most developed branches of modern applied psychology. The main task of special psychology is to identify, correct and prevent various deviations in the mental development of the child. In this respect, it is related to child psychiatry, but it does not use drugs, but only psychological methods impact on a person. In turn, special, or correctional pedagogy, is engaged in correcting the same deviations in mental development in children and adolescents using pedagogical methods in the process of education and upbringing. AT modern society The demand for professionals in these industries is very high, which is associated with the numerical growth of persons with developmental disabilities and the lack of specialists capable of providing them with professional assistance.

The modern level of training of professionals in the field of special psychology and pedagogy is achieved, among other things, by the high qualification of the teaching staff working at the institute, among which more than half are doctors of science and professors.
